    I have a 2012 WGP Anniversary Model and have no challenge at all keeping up with my litre bike buddies. The bike is tame and street manageable @ 5,000 rpm and below. In the 7,000+ rpm range it is an absolute terror. It's like two completely different bikes. No disrespect intended at all, but maybe hone your riding skills a bit for the faster pace? This bike is not slow or lacking in sharp handling at speed. It is scary fast above 7,000 rpm to redline.🙂
    I totally agree that the mirrors are absolutely hideous looking and function poorly, like an afterthought grabbed from the general parts bin at Yamaha, added on before shipping it out. 😐 I replaced them with aftermarket immediately.

    Good review! would like to see some handling and not just straight roads though.
    If the mirrors are so bad, get some other ones? And with the busa and the 1st/2nd gear issue at 30, I'd just change sprocket sizes if it bothered me. Did that with a quad bike I had.

      I would love to see something a little more interesting in the intstrument cluster like MPGs or maybe top speed

      @LiveFreeMoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ridewithdeacon use one of the trip counters reset it on a full fill up and do the math. ill tell you i average 42mpg and top speed doesn't matter.

    • @Ridewithdeacon
      @Ridewithdeacon  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

       @Live Free Moto True top speed really doesnt matter on the bike, if I really wanted to have the feature I could use a gps speedo on my phone and yeah I could also do the math for mpg ,but I like to see little luxuries and easter eggs in bikes like that hahaha One thing I didnt metion is a gear indicator that is definetly a luxury I would like to have even though its not needed.

    Thanks Dude, very nice report. I just bought a 2012 FZ8 too because I'm getting back on after 14 years (Fazer 600 at the time). Good-natured bike. Keep it up :-) Very objective report.

    Nice bike! Fellow Iowan and former Hayabusa owner myself.
    Good to hear your opinions on the fz8. I am picking up another motorcycle again sometime and have been debating between one or a f4i

    Inseam measurement is much more useful when describing seat height vs feet down.
    Total height does very little for the viewer.

    Thank you ! For me, the funny thing about speed with a bike, is not to be able to jail speed, it's a good and strong acceleration.

      90hp if you do too many wheelies. 116hp when you change the exhaust, open up the air box etc.

    Good review, If you gripe is power compared you higher powered bikes, it is the wrong bike. Would think power is ok for the bike in normal trafic. Otherway around, why don't your mates adjust to the slowest of the group? You still have it? Eyeballing one second hand, any things I need to check, model specific weak points?

    I hit a deer the other morning on my FZ6, I much appreciated the weight, Pretty sure I blacked out and when I came back to I was still upright and rolling. I thought for sure I was going to eat pavement.

    I have a pretty bad back looking to get the FZ1 FZ8 or the MT-09 I'm coming from an R6 I'm worried the FZ will be too slow for me and I'll get bored of it definitely still going to keep my R6 but just want something more comfortable maybe just a little faster than my R6 would you still recommend the FZ8 but I would get the fairing version

      I love the fz6, 8, and 1 fazer models with the bikini fairing. But it's hard to look past the 800s lack of power compared to all the 750 to 950cc bikes in the class. I think you should go with the 1000. It's as fast as your 600 was and weighs the same as the 800.

    • @Ridewithdeacon
      @Ridewithdeacon  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I went back and counted the shifts I was in 6th. I didnt really need to be in 6th but its more fuel efficent to be in that gear and it also cuts down on vibrations. In the begining though I was doing 65 in 3rd with a safe rpm range.

    • @VN9001
      @VN9001 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The engine is the major difference - The FZ8 has an in-line 4 whereas the M09 is a triple. Really not the same bike at all.
