Delighted to listen to this magnificent ghazal, penned by Ma'am Perveen Shaker, in the soulful voice of Ustad Ghulam Ali Saab for the very first time !
What a beautiful composition it was ! How soulful was Ustadjee in performing it ! Here, in this ghazal, it was as if the beautiful lafz of the shayar had found its right expression in the majestic voice of Ustad Ghulam Ali Saab with the exact feel, as depicted in the kalam !
It reminds me of an another famous famous ghazal -- "Kubaku Phail Gayee Hain Baat Sanasai Ki" -- penned by Ma'am Perveen Shaker -- and sung so soulfully by none other than the great Mehdi Hassan Saab in 'Raag Darbari' ! Infact, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab admired Ma'am Perveen Shaker owing to her literary prowess !
Ma'am Perveen Shaker, also recognized as the Diplomat Poetess of Pakistan, was a name to reckon with for her contributions to the growth of the URDU Poetry ! It's, indeed, very unfortunate that she had passed away prematurely, leaving behind a flourishing career ! May the departed soul rest in eternal peace ! Let us hope and pray !
