One of the finest renditions by Ustaad Ghulam Ali Khan sahab in the poetry of janab Nadeem Ahmed kasmi sahab . Thanks Abdul sahab teh dil se for the upload.
Wow! Can't thank Salaam saab enough for uploading this longer variant of one of the Ustad's sweetest creations. Here is one artist who never ceases to take you by surprise, such is the incredible range of his technical virtuosity and the breadth of imagination. Only he can play peek-a-boo with other ragas without detracting from the central melodic theme of the composition: to borrow a line from this ghazal, "ke ek chehere ke pichhe hazaar chehere the". (I know from my elders that the doyen of the Kasoor Patiala gharana, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Saab, was fond of flirting with ragas in a similar fashion in his thumri recitals). I will bet my last penny there will never be another Ghulam Ali; sometimes History doesn't repeat itself and thank God for that :)
Thank for the upload ❤
