This is the first year for me fishing the DR...it's been so much fun. I primarily fish for largies but have targeted some smallies there too. Those fish, even the little ones, are super aggressive. It's a lot of fun.
Appreciate the sub! I was flipping with a Dobyns Boom Boom Utility rod. It's a 7'1 Medium Heavy Fast Action rod. It's great for jigs, texas rigs, and spinnerbaits. The reel is a 7:2 Shimano SLX XT on 15lb fluoro.
I wouldn't say it's too thick, it feels right. I usually go with 12 or 15lb for the most part. The memory isn't too high or low, so I say it's right in the middle which works for me.
Sick vid but the way you fight your fish gives me anxiety, a lot of flipping your rod left and right. Im assuming to keep your yak in line, just makes my heart sink seeing you flip back n forth like that... Good fishing bro!
I never really noticed that lol. Yes, part is me trying to stay in position with the kayak but sometimes when I set the hook, it feels awkward because I get so close to my seat that I feel the need to adjust my rod to the left. Thanks for watching!
Yo dude sick video. I live in the qc area and would totally love to link up and fish sometime. We have the same kayak too lol. Anyways love the content brother
Thanks, man! I'm trying...I appreciate the watch. That's awesome! I love my NW Slayer Max 10...second year with it and it's a phenomenal fishing platform. I can't wait to check out that Titan ProX 10.5 version though, it looks sweet. I'll remember this comment as I'd be down to link up someday for sure.
What's your favorite cold water bait/technique this time of year?

Great fishing! What brand and test pound line ya have on da baitcaster jig setup brother?
Thanks man! I use 15lb fluorocarbon, and my preferred brand is the Seaugar InvizX line. Consider subscribing if you haven't already 🙏
@@slbassin thanks brother! How ya liking 15lbs test line? Is it kinda thick and has a lot of memory?

Nice video! Those were some nice bass!
Thanks!
Curious why you dipped your jig into the water at the 4:46 mark.
You had me thinking for a sec but it was just because the skirt on the jig had some grass so I dipped it in the water to remove. Thanks for watching!
What camera is that in the front of your yak facing you??
Hey, it's the DJI Pocket 3.
@@slbassin Thanks for responding, I did find it down in your gear list! Tight lines! 🎣
@@FishYourHeartOut No prob. Thanks for watching.
