@@SnareMan my old man eyes can’t see that well 😂 The entire ensemble sounds insanely good. I’ve heard countless alumni groups from other corps over the years and none of them sound this polished. Loving the traditional uniform!
Now I am seeing the real Bluecoats!! Aka the Alumni! Sure both the Alumni and the current members sound amazing combined but. The alumni are the real deal! They are the ones that set the standard! And finally I see a Traditional Uniform! Hope the current members will take note of what is real Drum Corps! Ever since 2016 I stop watching Bluecoats because that craze of let’s make Uniforms look like WGI and all of these crazy ideas that is not drum Corps! Plus something you have seen since the early 90s the return of a Cymbal Line. Yes Bluecoats had a Cymbal line back in the 70s and 80s. That disappeared back in the early 90s for some reason.
It's certainly been the trend in drum corps over the past few years, for better or worse. We had a bunch of interaction with the Bluecoats "junior corps" over the weekend and we both seemed to be enamored with each other. We thought performing with them was incredible and they seemed to think the same about us. We told them how amazing they are and they gave it right back to us. Every single member that I spoke with had the same sentiment. The Bluecoats are such an amazing organization from the management down through the members through to all of the alumni. And YES! Cymbals! So happy to have them! I wish corps would bring them back.
I want to echo what SnareMan said. We had a fair amount of time to play and interact with the 2022 Bluecoats and I could not be more proud of them or more in love with them and what they're trying to do with their show. And they could not have been more respectful or proud of the journey we took over the years we marched to get to the beginning of their season. In my mind, the goal of each new edition of the corps is not to enjoy the view from the place the path we have blazed has taken them, but to find a new and distant vista and start the incredibly hard and rewarding work of forging a trail for those who will follow. To steal a slogan from Boeing, "Forever New Frontiers".
honestly, upon first seeing the video , i thought wow they had a massive guard turn out for this project, probably just a few too many actually, then all these horns popped up. Hey if thats what the kids are into portraying these days ,have at it.
What an honor it is to share that stage with so many of my Bloooo brothers and sisters. 6W Let's Go BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO see you in August again.
That was the best 4th of July....EVER!!!!
Yes it was!!
They sound soooooo goood.
It was 50 times better in person
Thank you
AMAZING
Imagine if they marched this many in competition
We'll be marching next month! I keep saying we'd be an amazing senior Corps. 🙂
Marching TONIGHT!
Nice job Bluecoats!
How much you wanna bet that alumni SOPRANO soloist was not mic’d? Cuz they don’t need that foolishness.
I agree, but I think he was actually. You can see the microphone

@@just__dave thanks! And this was with only 3 days of in-person rehearsal, half of that spent learning drill.
I was the soloist and let’s just say my chops APPRECIATE the mic! Hahaha. There is video of me doing it without the mic. You still hear me. 😉
@@trumpetzig1 no doubt. You’re a beast!
I take it your somewhere in the orchestra performing??? I was expecting you to come drifting across the screen in your Beamer.
Lol. I'm in the left side of the snare line which is the front row of the Alumni Corps (the dark blue uniforms).

Fat W bro

Travis. I can't believe you skipped that rerun of Bonanza to write all that.
There was a cymbal line until 2004.
