I bought my first Aeropress more than 8 years ago, and used it like crazy. Then….I switched to tea (I hear gasps of horror). After a trip to Greece last September, I got hooked (again) on coffee. I tried (and tried and tried) the V60, but ultimately found it too difficult to make a reliable brew. I pulled out my old Aeropress and after a few attempts with the Fellow Prismo (a device that restricts the flow to make an “espresso-like brew), I discovered the rubber plunger cap was worn and no longer plunged properly. That was the green light I needed to give myself permission to buy a new one - the Clear had just been released, so I happily bought one. I also bought a new plunger cap for the old one - I use it at work. I love love love my Aeropress Clear - such a forgiving brewer - consistently makes clean, sweet cups. Goodbye V60! If you don’t already have an Aeropress, consider getting one. The Clear is worth the little extra money. And for a while, they offered clear colors (just checked their website and it appears they are out of stock).
I love this so much, thank you for sharing! I feel like I’m so late to this party and have missed out on it for so long… But as they say “better late than never”! I’m so happy to hear you’re back at it. Wishing you many delicious cups! ☕️💛
Exactly the same for me. I'm taking a break from the V60 for a while to use the aeropress. I didn't think it would make good coffee all these years until i bought it at a thrift store recently. Makes such great coffee!
While in a coffee shop the other day, waiting for my coffee, I noticed that they were selling small hand grinders, beans and different brewers. It somehow instantly clicked in my brain that when I travel, I am wasting a lot of time chasing a decent coffee place to get some coffee. While this is fun, it can also be rather time consuming so I decided on the spot to buy an Aeropress, a Timemore Nano grinder and a some nice freshly roasted coffee beans. This morning, I find myself in my hotel room, making a great cup of coffee on the first try, without any scale or other fancy gear. I am amazed how forgiving this little brewer is. Hands down, the best coffee I ever had in a hotel room.
You made this Clear look so good that I'm tempted to get one even though I already have the Aeropress Go! Great review and I love the new look kitchen!
I picked up the Aeropress Clear about a year ago based on the James Hoffman review, and I've used at at least once daily. It still performs fine, but it's developed some vertical cracks around the base (where the cylinder connects to the flange), along with some fogginess and internal vertical scratches towards the top of the cylinder. Still works fine - it's just not entirely invulnerable to wear.
The aeropress was my first non-pod brewer. I still use it from time to time, and I always pack it on trips. It is also what I suggest for people that wanna get away from pod coffee and explore local roasters and small batch coffee. It is SUCH a solid brewer
@@lizhappybeans that’s it the experimentation you describe is what let me wrap my head around how different pour overs and espresso machines and grind size can radically effect the end cup
I love the new design, especially the color ones. I will upgrade my basic aeropress after I decorate and decide on my coffee setup. I always love when a recipe is included. Great video overall ☕️
I just got my ≈$40 original AEROPRESS earlier this week. Now that I know this new clear exists, I’m tempted to spend some more money and buy the clear one.
I don't think you'll notice much of a difference in terms of flavor, since both use immersion and paper filtration. That said, the added pressure of Aeropress, if using the same grind size and water temperature as the Switch, may extract more out of the coffee. Keep in mind, you can achieve the same results by leaving the Switch to steep for longer. All in all, the Switch also offers more versatility as you may use it as a regular V60 dripper if you wanted to. Hope that helps!
1. There are 100 filters now and 350 filters before, so clearly (pun intended) not "like before"!!! 2. it was 29-35 USD before and now it is 50 USD, so it is a clear (pun intended) price increase for less value. 3. with mechanical scratching of the clear material in that case you will experience partial discoloration and lesser longevity of usage. 4. you are telling that the "extra accessories are not needed" and still use the original scoop (no longer included) in your video...... Next time you will do any sort of payed promotion like this one please be honest and not so obviously illogical. Good luck
I’m really sorry you’re disappointed with AeroPress. I tried to be as honest as possible based on my experience with it and after watching other reviews and looking at the concerns. This is my first Aeropress, and as I say in the video, it became my go to daily brewer. I’m aware of the filter reduction. It’s a common complaint! I just don’t make a lot of sense out of it. This is my personal opinion. I understand those who don’t like it! It’s fair! I can’t emit an opinion on price increase, as this is my first one and, for the current price and how much I’ve enjoyed it, it’s more than fair (to me!) - I do understand where you come from tho. I haven’t had this brewer for too long, but I have other things made of the same material and they’re still around! I don’t foresee this breaking anytime soon. And lastly, I stand by what I say about the accessories. I’ve never had them, and I didn’t miss them. I tried the device before learning that it used to come with those. Oh, and it DOES come with the spoon and stirrer, you can confirm on the website. Again, I’m sorry that my review upset you. Regardless of this being a disclosed collab with AeroPress, I do my best to be unbiased and my opinion on this device as a new user was as unbiased as possible. My experience has been pleasant, exciting I might say! I think that at least for someone who doesn’t already own one, this is a MUST. But hey, that’s me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to leave this comment. I appreciate the feedback and I look forward to having these conversations with the TH-cam community. Hope next time I can produce a video that you can enjoy and get more value from, as I can clearly (pun intended) do better! Have a wonderful day! 🙏🫶
@@lizhappybeansthank for your reply. I am not disappointed with Aeropress itself, I am using one for over 5 years and completely happy with it. I am just not very happy with its development after Mr.Adler sold the company. Increasing the price with decreasing filters quantity and accessories is a shitty move that goes against the “philosophy” of this coffee maker in the first place (as clearly specified by its inventor and creator).
Hey! I like the video and the information you provide, but the light doesn't look really nice. Thought it might be helpful to point that out for the improvement of your channel.
Thank you for the feedback! It’s really helpful! I have since changed my set completely and still working on the lights. Go check my newer videos if you wanna take a look! 🙏🏼 any constructive feedback is always welcome 💛
I'm two minutes in and already getting a feeling that this isn't an impartial, unbiased review. Do you mention at any point that you're being compensated or provided products by the company? You list a promo code in the description, which implies a business relationship/partnership with the brand. Please show more respect to your viewers and disclose this information upfront when doing reviews.
Thanks for taking the time to leave this comment! Both the fact that I can provide a promo code and that the video is clearly tagged as including paid promotion should be enough. But I appreciate your suggestion on further disclosing it for those who don’t get it. With this said, any coffee review I make is based on my honest opinion about the product. If I don’t like a product, I will either not do the video or state what I don’t like about it, as I do every time. As a small creator, I don’t have the budget to purchase every single piece of gear I want to review, which is why the support of the brands help me make the content and they get their exposure, and I’m always clear about the way I do my reviews. With this specific video, every single word I say, I mean it, and as someone who never had an AeroPress before, I’m hyping it because that’s how I feel. This is a tool I use daily, multiple times. I don’t know what is it with some that they seek for a negative review of a good product and, if the video is a praise to the brand, it’s automatically perceived as a biased opinion. I’m entitled to have a positive opinion, no? I’m glad you took the time to comment and value you as a viewer, but for you to imply that I lack respect for my audience is the highest form of disrespect towards my work. There are better ways to suggest, but this is the internet so, you are entitled to your comments as well. Hope I can do better in the future for the viewers like you, as my ultimate goal is to provide value and help people enjoy great home coffee without breaking the bank. So I’ll take your suggestions kindly 🙏 Hope you have a wonderful day ❤️

Wow! Thank you for sharing your experience! I still haven’t noticed any signs of wear on mine, but I’ll see if anything comes up after a while.
Great video. Thanks. Love the Aeropress.
Thank you! 🙏🏼☺️
Can you please tell us the glass cup you’re using with the Aeropress? Thanks
Of course! It's the Pure Over signature mug. You can get yours here: pureover.com/lizhappybeans
I second that!
Hi, new visitor and subscriber here, nicely done and your video production is superb. Bravo!
Thank you for the support!
I’m super curious to try this!
Welcome back! I loveeed seeing Baby Bean, and her lil’ toesies🥰
Thank you! So happy to be back! Baby Bean will definitely be around for more ☺️
I love my Aeropress! The clear was my first as well and I am in love with it!!! I have used it on the road so much!!
Absolutely! So happy to have found it!

The struggle is real! I'd love to have a collection of all of the "Clear" colours!
I need this but without plastic
They recently released the Aeropress Premium that is made out of glass and metal. Perhaps that's the solution you're looking for!
I just bought the clear green one. It's looks awesome.
Amazing! I hope you have a lot of fun with it!
How different is the flavor profile between an aeropress and a hario switch?

Coffee is life. Couldn’t agree more. The AeroPress became my favorite brewer when I tried the first time, and I can’t have enough of it.
It's so worth it!
Loosing rhe accessories seems like a bad choice if this is yout first aeropress.

Where did you get that clear mug?
It is the Pure Over mug! Check it out in this affiliate link here: amzn.to/42Rtnbi 😀
I am always here for Aeropress praise 😁☕
Good review. Ditch the annoying background track.
yes! Annoying
It is a game changer ❤
Agreed! 🫶🏼💛
Transition at 2:22 🔥🔥🔥
Switch out the paper filter for a reusable metal filter for a “French AeroPress”!
I like how you think! 🧐
Well damn, guess imma have to get me one of those, looks very interesting and talk about time saving! Also little baby Bean spotted at 2:04 🥺🥺🥺
Cutest happy bean! ❤️
