Warning, this showwill get a lot darker, and a lot longer if they keep greenlighting more seasons, considering how many light novels are alredy out of source material
The fact that she reincarnated into a dying girl's body is pretty dark. The isekai reincarnations usually have them start as being born into the world. I like this was a plot point and technically she really isn't Myne and just took over her body.
@@cmdrjanjalani i think the author mentioned it somewhere on her twitter regarding urano's reincarnation. She died, reincarnated into Myne and then her past life memories got blocked with Myne's memory as she lived. Normally, this will not end into her old memory surfacing because Myne's memory buildup will be thick enough to block Urano's memory. But unfortunately, Devouring happens and Myne got weakened enough so that her old memory could resurface. And then her memory as Myne just got devoured and turned into mana or something
Still dark, but still a lot more intriguing than the 'standard' reincarnation method IMO

Well they did end up getting pretty drunk in the end, and honestly the dub feels lower quality than the sub imo.
As someone who loves all these characters and is hyped for season 3, this was hilarious.

Am I just remembering the sub differently, or is the dub that different? I enjoyed this show when I watched it. I haven't watched a dub in years, though.
Did you come from korewa eden's new video? Yeah, I started cringing as soon as I heard the english voices. In the japanese version, myne sounds pretty different depending on how mature she's acting. It appears in the dub she just sounds the same all the time.
I'm pretty sure the dub also adds the stupid 'doon' sound effects too when they can't be fucked getting the VOs to basically just do a 'huh' e.c.t.
The dub is just bad.

I need a part 2 and 3 to this. As much as I enjoy Bookworm, your shitting on it was hilarious. There is a Season 2 with 12 episodes with a 2 part ova, as well as Season 3 releasing Spring 2021.

The anime and english dub allready removes a tone of context, so getting smak drunk is a pretty _interesting_ move.
Cant help but feel you do need a few extre sober brain cells before calling this ending dump.

Also the child adult thing is critic i had to, but it makes more sense in the books, were we also get to understand her thinking better.
When the anime speed up the story to fit it into 12 eps they also ended up making her decision making seem even more over the place.
In truth shes just never were all that bright or grown up in certain aspects of her personality.

She has a 30 year old memory and a 5 year old brain so of course sometimes she acts like a child and sometimes like an adult
Yeah, I remember the author saying in one of many interviews that (the original) Myne & Motosu "shared' a soul. I think of it this way, the remnants of the original Mynes memories, personality, whatever, are still in in that body. We got a hint of this both in episode 1 of the anime & in the LN. What I think is happening, is that Motosu & what remains of Myne are having a mental "tug of war" for dominance; it's why I think Rosemyne acts one way on some occasions, & another at other times. Motosu will either eventually win as Rosemyne ages & she approaches the age when she died on Earth, or alternatively the original Myne & Motosu will "meld" (for lack of a better word) into an entirely new personality.

Urano and Myne share the same soul. Urano died, and sometime later, when Myne very nearly died to the devouring, she regained the memories of her past life (Seen at the very start of the series). Because Myne had so few core memories in her 5(~7 in earth years) of life due to constantly being bedridden, Urano's ego overpowers her thought processes and so she confuses Urano's memories for her own.
Cycle of rebirth between worlds, where souls usually have their old memories locked when they reincarnate. Myne's devouring and subsequent temporary death at the beginning of the series eroded that memory barrier, causing her to "reincarnate". Normal reincarnations stories usually transplant the soul with memories intact, but Myne lived several years before regaining her memories.
She thinks she is Urano, when the reality is that Urano is simply just her past life. It may not sound all that different from your typical reincarnation fantasy, but fact of the matter is that Urano didnt actually reincarnate. Her personality is childish because she is literally a child believing she is still/also her former self. The anime glosses over this kinda, but you're given enough context clues to realize it isn't a true reincarnation given she shouldn't be able to recognize her family or the world's language as Urano under normal circumstances.
Tl;Dr:
Because she was so young at the time, Myne is still Myne, just with extra baggage and a hankering for books.
