Loved the video! I have read the entire web novel and most of the light novel (other than parts 1 & 2) in Japanese, and am working my way through the side stories now too. Just wanted to mention, there is a side story where it is confirmed that Myne was Lutz's first love. He's thinking about how Tulli was Ralph's first love and how she is just as much out of Ralph's reach as Myne is out of his. There's also a part where he is interacting with Tulli and thinking about how obsessed they both are with Myne (she as her sister, he as someone in love with her) and he says something to Tulli that hints that he is starting to have feelings for her and wishes she would pay as much attention to him as she does to Myne. So I do definitely feel that Kazuki-sensei is leading the two of them to slowly developing feelings for one another! Also, thank you so much for your great explanation of why the Fermai ship is THE ABSOLUTE BEST SHIP EVER oh my god. Like, when you think back over the whole story and everything they went through and then look at where they end up at the end... THE EMOTIONS ;____; I get why people who haven't read the full story might side-eye this ship, but once you experience the full story, it just makes perfect sense. Ferumai forever (though I still wish Lestilaut could have become Myne's second husband heh heh heh).
Where do you find the side stories? Well, I guess you did say you are reading them in Japanese, so... better question, does anyone know a good English language translation where someone who doesn't read very well in Japanese can find the side stories?
Also, unfortunately, the Lestilaut ship is just not meant to be. (Spoilers.) . . . . . Although Myne DOES reach a position at the end where she actually can have multiple husbands, Lestilaut is destined to be Aub Dunkelferger. He can't be married out. Emotionally, he's just 1 step down in quality from Ferdinand, and definitely viable. The only mark against him is him not knowing about her commoner family, but if she has Ferdinand as her 1st husband then her meetings with her commoner family can quite easily be disguised as her just "doing things" with her 1st husband and it's all good. Ironically, the Ferdinand X Rosemine ship actually MAKES the Lestilaut X Rosemine ship work by clearing up the only real complaint from Mine's side of things. This ship is sunk on purely political grounds, which is a shame. The political difficulty given from Lestilaut's side is almost as critical as the emotional one cleared up by Ferdinand's involvement on Rosemine's side. (Makes me wonder if Lestilaut could pull an Anastasius here and abandon power for the sake of love, then lead Alexandria into regular Ditter competitions with his old home of Dunkelferger.)
She throws me off with the WN references… the LN at JNC is only at P5V2 I think so it’s SPOILERY…. That said… reading the timeline on the fandom site doesn’t help much either. It certainly eases the age factor knowing it’s 1) only 10~ years difference, and 2) her body actually ages (fast forward) at a point to make it easier to adjust to… (endgame ship)
The thing i like about marriages in honzuki is status, politics and magic affects pairing. The characters act on the world and the world act on the characters in return.
@@markbc3382 Oh come on. You have to agree that the author put some thoughts on the magic system of her fictional world. A system where the characters have to work with. Unlike harry potter where magic has no rhyme or reason. That's why the lore is having a hard time transitioning to the open adult world (fantastic beast series).
Couldn't agree more. And that says a lot for someone like me who hates politics in plots. It's so sad when it gets in the way of romance, but I really like how realistic the story is.

I’ve only watched the anime but I feel like with the information and knowledge at her disposal after she became a noble she would have discovered or could have created some kind of physical enhancement spell and kept it going to nullify the inherent weakness that came with the devouring
I'm still not over Lutz not being endgame.... but (as an anime only) hearing the explanation for Ferdinand peeked my interest enough to look forward to it.
Yeah, when I started anime, I was dude he cool ( high priest), but I wanted someone sweet to myne. Lutz was so sweet to her, build after reading the web novel. Am so much fermyne shipper now. It more am will ship myne/ Rozemyne to other people but I can't see Ferdinand with other.
The Moment Ferdinand when convincing her she need to learn the hardspieal pointed out she needs to marry someone with compatible Mana level, Lutz ship was dead.
If you look at Myne's relationships with Lutz and Ferdinand, I think it's safe to say that Myne was on track to fall in love with Lutz too. She never eventually did because they were broken apart by status and mana compatibility, but the progression was basically the same as with Ferdinand. Myne/Rozemyne never really honestly admit or, rather, acknowledge her own feelings until the end and instead always thought she was considering the "other one" as family instead of a love interest. With Lutz, she simply didn't reach that stage. The video would've been too long, but there is also Angelica situation that was always a ship in search of a harbor :D.
Honestly angelica may be bad as a noble, but i still dont see her a a bad wife type. Also she is somehow beautiful even when having a body capable of crushing a head with one hand.

i don't think Benno saw Myne as Liz i think he saw Myne as the child he and Liz might have had (at least that was the vibe i always got from them when i read the LN)
I personally feel that he saw Lutz and Myne as the younger him and younger Liz. This is why he doesn't just look after Myne but also raise Lutz as his own. If circumstances allow it, he'd be their first and biggest shipper.

Not particularly looking forward to it in the light novels but again no hate to the folk who do ship it and I do love them as like siblings or even surrogate father daughter kind of relationship

Its like how a child genius can have the intelligence of an adult but they shouldn't be treated the exact same as an adult because emotionally they aren't on the same level. That being said I don't begrudge anyone who ships them, it's perfectly fine to do so it just doesn't work for me, I wish they had just stayed close in a non-romantic way
Iirc, in one of her comments on the webnovel Kazuki-sensei specifically states that Heidi and Joseph's personalities were based on an AU version of Myne and Lutz where they ended up together. So this isn't just the fandom projecting things, it was fully planned and intentional
About the Fermai, if i'm not wrong, by reading her memories, he started wondering about the kind of family she had and what kind of family he or anybody in his world had. the difference in bonding was so overwhelming that it was one of the greatest reasons why he started having feelings for Rosemyne. That's my shipp and it's wholesome.
You're wrong... He started wondering about families since Myne and Gunther fought High Bishop. That's why he inserted himself in Lutz's family problems, for example. He already saw families much different than the noble ones. Reading Myne's memories was when he first outright *felt* familial love.
Well, I am pretty certain that I know how it will all end. Myne will get her library. Why I am so confident? Well it is said so at beggining of series :) How she will get it? I am pretty sure Ferdinand will give it to her since at, one point in book, Ferdinand wanted to get her mana for research and she said her price for mana is library. Ferdinand was in thought and said nothing. Taking this all into account there is possibility that she will actually end up with Ferdinand.
I'm still reading the licensed light novels (it's hard to find a consistent and good translation of the webnovel in my country) so I know its probably a long time coming for me, but I ALWAYS knew Fermai would be endgame! Even as they denied it while she was young, they were always so important to each other and shared an intimacy, mutual respect and comfort she literally could not have with anyone else. I also agree with the lutz x tulli ship because it actually works. It might not be passionate but they are both caring and nurturing individuals. They'd have a very comfortable romance. Also, side note: Wilfried grew to be quite handsome but Lestlaut has NO BUSINESS being that hot! Like, why?!
Yeah grown up Lestilaut is somethin' else... as to Ferdinand and Myne their bind is much deeper than simply a romantic one. I love that about them. There's lots of good things ahead, this series only gets better and better!
The Ferdinand rosemyne ship is nice but it is sad that their family line ends with their children because NO ONE will have the same level of mana as their kids. So no grandkids.

Sylvester confronts Myne about her relationship with Ferdinand, she says in her monologue that she couldn't see Wilfried romantically because she was a college student in her past life, despite the fact that she's childish and often emotional, she still sees herself as an adult. (She also wants someone Urano's age according to her) And I think that's an important thing to consider when it comes to Myne ships.
@@mujtv9366 from what I've read , Ferdinand and myne ended up engaged, but have not yet married and she hasn't finished school yet. But I've also read that the author is going to continue the story in the Light Novel once all of the novels (Japanese) have been released. I prefer the light novel over the web novel because she includes additional material.
The problem with Fermai is that it only becomes a pleasant ship when you experience their engagement in real time when reading the LN and the whole story progression the two get. I too was spoiled of the ship when I was only in the middle of part 3, and it was gross then. And then, get to the end of part 5, and it is the best ship ever.

(Webnovel spoilers for events in the final Ferdinand X Rosemine endgame.) . . . . . In terms of the Ferdinand ship, I found it a little interesting how they suddenly stopped decoding the noble euphemisms near the end when it came to their courtship. Someone who has followed along though would know exactly what was meant by him telling her to keep his name dedication stone because it would be a "Shield of Schutzaria" for her. To decode the message, he was basically telling her he wouldn't accept it back until she was ready to have children with him, beings her reasoning for wanting them not to dedicate names to each other was because she didn't want a case where they had children and suddenly lost both parents at the same time due to one or the other of them dying tragically. She really knows how to take something normally thought of as romantic and turn it on it's head. From this perspective, the practice of mutual name dedication is revealed to be selfish and irresponsible on the part of the parties involved. Although, one other thing in this is how it contrasts with the events earlier with Deltrinde. Who, as it just so happens, is a living embodiment of the words "selfish" and "irresponsible."
i completed this novel 1 year back. she become duke of sylvester's sister domain and her family is shifted to that domain. she could visit her family through a secret door and it was a happy reunion. Best isekai ever.

Myne only ships herself with books. Rosamyne matures enough by the time she grows up that she eventually falls for the person who knows all of her which is Ferdinand.
In fairness, that is still most of it. Also in his defense he only began to grow any additional feelings for her until he saw her in her memories as an actual full grown woman. She is actually 2-7 years older then him depending on if you count original Mynes life or not, so it’s at least less sketch (especially since she had to literally mind meld with him again before he actually admitted the love)
@@kagato23I don’t think he grew any sort of romantic feelings at that time, he simply became aware of her mental age. It might be later that he really starts developing romantic feelings; my theory is in Part 4 when Myne demanded what he wanted to do after he’s forced to marry Detlinde that he started to have some romantic feelings (plus from SS when he made the hairpin for Myne).
I highly recommend looking up the fanfic: Book of Veðrfölnir on archive of our own. It’s a fanfic of the ferdinand x rozemyne ship but rozemyne is around the same age as ferdinand and not from ehrenfest but dunkelfelger. It’s very well written with the relationship between ferdinand and rozemyne taking centre stage while introducing some other interesting characters. It’s also still being updated regularly. It does contain elements that have yet to be revealed in the lightnovel and spoils some stuff.
the previous fanfic from the authors of Book of Veðrfölnir is Finding a Tune for Blueanfa's Dance. It's about Ferdinands conquest of Rozemynes heart, to change him from the highest bidder for her hand to a man she will romantically love. The authors do a great job and to me that fanfic is canon, because the characters stay true to their LN selves and i picked up details i missed in the LNs. Just like the Understanding fanfic, which has the same qualities.

Falling in love for marriage was considered in the sort of time frame Bookworm covers, a romantic ideal but not something most people had. The reality was just not reachable for most. That Myne's parents and our favorite ex-wandering trader had found love is very, very rare. Most couples in that kind of time frame look at what works for the couple, both socially and economically. It's why Lutz's ultimate partner makes sense, even if they aren't in love with each other.
I think Lutz and Tuuli work because Lutz is basically in training to be Benno (total didn't know she liked him) and Tuuli is a calm, efficient, and subtle flavor of Myne.
They are both such awesome hardworking loving people they will fall in love with each other. They will have wonderful babies and Rozmyne will gift them many books.
I guess Lutz sees Tulli as his brother love interest that’s why he never had romantic interest in her as a child, but in LN he’s lovestruck when he saw her mature appearance after he came back from a long trip. He easily fell for her when there’s no brother obstacle. The passion is definitely there at least on Lutz part. Idk about Tulli yet.
ok the build up yes but my heart broke when the webnovel ended and Myne is still pretty much in denial! i hope the light novel does better! im dieing for one more scene of them coming out from the... hall and him helping her put her hair back down! i seriously need the story of her awaking to her feelings that everyone else can see!!

What a coincidence i just finished the wn. At the few last chapter of the wn, Rozemyne talked to Ferdinand that said her commoners family, Lutz and Ferdinand is the only one that she considered more important than books. While both of them do love each other, it was not really specific what kind of love, Ferdinand only want a real family while Rozemyne didn't want Ferdinand to be left alone anymore, even when they talked about future children, they talked about it because it was Rozemyne duty as an archduke to continue her bloodline, and not because they really want it either. Btw It would need at least 1 year for the Japanese ln to finish and 3'5 years for the English to release.
It's amazing. . . . . . When she lost her memories she told Ferdinand, books are the most important things to me and only YOU are more important than books... and because they are synchronized we get a glimpse of his feelings when she said that.... and I just died.
She wants child not only because of her duke's responsibility, but also because of her sense of family love from watching how eva and her mother in her previous life express their motherhood
It makes me laugh so much that no matter what the ships are, if they are about Rozemyne there will always be the number of books her suitor has to offer that will count a lot. Spoiler for part 4 (just to say it) I remember a passage where Ferdinand tells Rozemyne that no matter how many books are offered to her she must not let herself be manipulated. Or choose her future husband only on this criteria. Oh and another quote we're Sylvester is telling her that Frenbeltag send a proposal and that even knowing they are refusing it she asks how many book they have in that duchy . Also I was a fellow Lutz x Rozemyne ship until the goodbye scene from book 3 part 4 , I crushed my heart so badly . Now I'm shipping her with the Archiduc Candidate of Dunkelfelger (I don't have his name in my mind right now) because I'm a fan of the love hate , rival type of ship . Even with all those ships I have to say that in my mind I always knew she will be ending with Ferdinand .
It depends on whose Dunkelfelger AC... Hannelore, sure, Lestilaut, it would be mean for Rozemyne, he turned kind of a passive aggressive version of Hartmut following her dazzling Dedication Whirl, if you ask me :p.
The last ship on this list is the best because it comes as a pretty big plot twist but makes so much sense it's impossible to imagine a different outcome

You missed Angelica x Stenluke, the biggest true love ship in the books. On a more serious note, Judithe x Damuel, as a copy of Brigitte x Damuel. Both knights under Rozemyne and their interactions in P4V4 hint at that.
Im Angela and Eckhart! before the royal order they have very little thoughts of each other but witnessing the others dedication makes them like each other I think. I think Angela realizes that Eckhart is as strong as grandfather and its not just physically strong and Eckhart realizes that she is as dedicated to Myne like he is to ferdi.
Good to see another of your videos. Thank you for your efforts. Ferdinand really is the only one for Roz. It would have been kinda creepy if she ended up with Lutz, as Roz sees him like a little kid. Roz and Ferdinand compliment each other in a very special way, more than just mana.
Myne and Lutz is like a young relationship that ended amicably and ended up as best friends. There may have been something there at one point but as it went on they realized that it wouldn't work out. It fits Lutz since he comes off as extremely mature for his age. The part that peacefully sunk this ship for me was actually Damuel and Brigitte ship sinking. It showed how important noble standing is and that if Myne were to be shipped with Lutz it would literally be worse for everyone because of their statuses.
Thanks for the nice video. For Tuuli and Lutz, I have shipped them for a while as they have a lot in common with their drive to acheive their goals. They understand where they come from and where they want to go. I can see a slowburn love for them as the support each other. The Benno and Myne relationship was always mentor/mentee for me. Cannot wait to read the novels to come. Are Leonore and Cornelius ending together? I really like Leonore's character and Cornelius has grown on me. They would be such a strong power couple.
Biggest problem for shipping Myne is her magic level. She and her partner need to have close to the same magic levels. There's a doubt that even Ferdie is close enough to her. For this she might not find a noble in the city she could marry. Though i could see Lutz and Turry together. Falling for each other as they work togeather, with lutz's contract allowing her to see myne even as she becomes rosemyne.

Great thing about Damuel and Philline is that they're not stuck at laynobles forever. It'll be old age before they get there, but if 3 generations of a family have mana as high as the next rank they will be able to ascend to the higher rank. They'll have to wait until they're old, but their retirement will be in comfort.
About Tuuli x Lutz, there's stories in their POV about them in the SS storage! The thing about that ship is how practical they are about it, in terms of matching salaries, dowry, and how their families can support each other but at the same time the years of trust and friendship strengthened their relationship. There's this one SS where Tuuli first saw Myne as a beautiful, grown woman and swoons over her and tells Lutz about it. At this point she still thinks Lutz has feelings for her, and tells him that he'll fall in love for sure if they ever meet again. But Lutz gets all pouty. There was a lot of little hints about benno x myne, but even so I only see them platonically. The physical age gap made me just as iffy about the ship as Ferdinand x Myne, but Fermyne snuck in with its TOP TIER DEVELOPMENT. I can't see them end up with anyone but each other, its perfect. However, I loved Lestilaut. It's the bookworm x jock, enemies to lovers, best-friend's-older-brother type of ship and I was all aboard until mid part 5, and I can't see Rozemyne having feelinsg for him. First of all, she would be MISERABLE in Dunkelfelger, and second, he would have a 2nd wife. I get that it's normal in this universe, but I prefer monogamy. Also Ferdinand vowed that he wouldn't take any lovers besides Rozemyne, so yayy ship sailed. I was also all aboard the Eglantine x Rozemyne ship until part 5.5. The betrayal I felt my god I was so mad. Best hannelore ship is Hanne x Kentrips. Dude is so in love with her and the only one who respects her decisions without any political influence, he even helps her get together with her crush!
Dunkelfelger is the Zent sword in the history of Yurgen, once they know about Myne's background just like Bonifatius they will leave her back. (This was a comment of the author from Activity Report)
Also the problem with Lestilaut- he is QUITE impressionable and opinionated... which is the duchy-wide problem actually. He DOES acknowledge her value but he hardly respect her wish. He push what he wants by force ... do UNDERSTAND that bride stealing ditter he starts is actually ILLEGAL by his duchy's law because Rozemyne DOES NOT want it- he LIES to his parents thinking if he win it- he can just force it because he has won her like some sort of prize. He DID this too with his own sister- she just comment about the royal dolls (Scwrarz and Weiss) are cute- NOTHINg on wanting them and he run for it ALSO NEVER apologize accusing Rozemyne of treason. Yes- it's that bad... it's royal artefact, belong to the royals- you don't accuse someone stealing them in random. Added with his duchy's position as Zent's sword, that's a super serious accusation.
Thanks for the videos, I was aware that she ends with Ferdinand because people love to spoiler and I found very weird (I think that it's a common reaction), but with the arguments presented now I believe that he is the best ship.

hmmm if by chance Hannelore's spin-off goes that far or has a time-skip we may have atleast one scene of Hannelore at their wedding (that scene would not take place until 1-2 years from the current timeline)....but considering the title of the spin-off I don't hope much. would love to see some scenes though or atleast them having one kid

Might contain spoilers dont read further Lutz x Myne ship, I just couldn't sense it since she herself says in part 1 that they are children in her eyes. Benno x Myne (my ship since p1) author and current commoners world view this might sail, but author on Twitter says this will be doomed to fail becoz of all her upcoming enemies within business sector (not counting the noble route). Rozemyne x Lestilaut has a chance, but we are monogamous people. Her life will be endangered by the other wives. Also the backstory of Dunkelfelger as Zent's sword and being on upper rank common sense doom this ship. Just like what Author says about Bonifatius that he will not accept the secret with Myne and will be cold or turn his back on her (if ever he knew she is not his granddaughter). This will end up tragically. Good thing this boy got dusted on 5-2. Rozemyne x Sigizwald like I said their common sense as upper rank will collide. If ever she become 3rd wife. Rozemyne spoke her terms but the terms come out from the other ear of Sigizwald. This is the type of person who don't listen. He is worse than Wilfred. Remember what he did with Adolphine? Ferdinand x Myne one sentence won't explain how their relationship evolve for 600+ chapters. Myne love reading books, their feelings as they write it this was evident on the prologue in the wn: "I love how the printed words let me reach out and touch another person’s ideas, their fantasies. My heart dances along the roads of thought laid down by the author, and I can’t help but smile." Most of the books she read on that world are handwritten/author by Ferdinand (during his school days). The reports and legend she got about him. If I'm not bias all I can say she has a low key crush on him already since he started defending his actions on part 2. Off course none of that mattered until their engagement scene. Like what Effa who doesn't feel for Gunther at the beginning, that scene also parallel their devolopment. With all the rereading I made, I can say the engagement scene where she cried was the door opener for her. That's the moment she fall for him.

In my opinion, based on the author's writing, I think Lutz and Myne were eachother's first love, but they never got the chance to realize it nor get together, and as they grew up they both developed feelings with their new partners : Lutz with Tuuli, Rozemyne with Ferdinand. (I'll say that you couldn't really trust what Myne/Rozemyne said about herself, because the author seems to design her as an unreliable narrator, and even other characters could be like that sometimes, si unless the author recognise herself I won't easily believe what the MC says, but rather using clues and hints.) As everybody see, young Lutz and Myne were very close, and that was never ever clearly confirmed as anything out of childhood friendship. Lutz and Myne themselves cherish eachother but neither of them think that's in a romantic way. But I believe that actually could be that case, just Myne herself was too slow to something like romance, and Lutz doesn't want to admit that even he figured it out, and both of them were too young at that moment. If you read into it, Lutz never ever really admit that Myne was his "first love", the closest we could get is he comparing himself to his brother, Ralph, who still think Tuuli as someone "special" to him though he already has a lover, and thinking "we brothers are really alike. Even after all these years Myne is still special to me." But in Tuuli's eyes, it's clear that Lutz had always been in love with her little sister, she knows and loves to tease Lutz about that, and Tuuli also knows that was almost something in the past, hence an unreachable first love (as she teased Lutz again how he'll fall for Rozemyne "again" once he see how she'd grown up.) Even Benno once suspect little Lutz fixation on little Myne could be something closer to a crush than friendship before, so we really couldn't just trust Lutz's own POV and narration (as both him and the author clearly hidden something among in the lines), but rather rely on other characters POV. And Myne was the same as well. Do not believe that "I was reincarnated so I couldn't feel anything for guys that be are younger then my past self" thing, cause Rozemyne only thought about that when referring to how herself don't have romantic feelings for Wilfred, but whenever asked about her relationship with Lutz she never used age as an explanation, instead took out other aspects to explain how she and Lutz couldn't be together.... In my opinion, that's just how Rozemyne tried to rationalize how she couldn't feel interested in Wilfred (and the real answer could be that he's just really not her type). Myne/Rozemyne sometimes doesn't really understand herself, especially when it comes to romances (as we can see in the final chapter), and the author has already confirmed that she's still "Myne the little girl, but awaken with reincarnated memories of her past self Urano", so getting interested in guys younger than Urano wouldn't be that astonishing cause she's actually still Myne herself, just she misunderstood her being Urano replacing the original soul. And even though she never get romantic feelings nor reactions around Wilfred or Lestilaut, she DID blush and feel flustered around Lutz sometimes in their childhood before, so not interested in younger guys? Bullshit. More importantly, just like grown-up Lutz said that Myne is still special to him, Lutz himself is special to Rozemyne, too. Lutz has always been the sole one as important as her biological family (not just simply as a part of her Gutenberg gang), and the first one she got attached to and trusted in this world. An interesting fact is that Myne had got in danger twice, once in Part 2 and the next time in Part 3: When she was attacked in P2, the person she immediately called out for help wasn't her mom or dad, but Lutz; and in Part 3 she first think of the reliable people around and nearby, the knights, her nobility family and guardians...then she stated subconsciously seeking help from her commors relatives again, her father, and finally.....Lutz again. You can see that Lutz's is like some kind of parent deep inside her mind. People ask help from their mother subconsciously when they're in danger keven if mommy couldn't really help the situation either), and Myne did the same towards Lutz. To her Lutz has been an equal to her parents, the first one she even find home within even before she developed trust to he own biological families. She said herself in web novel that Lutz's the one recognised her existence, even almost at the end of the series Rozemyne still deems Lutz as " that person who kept me here in this world" . When she dreamt about the people dear to her (commoners, merchants, Ferdinand and Gil and Fran), the ones who hold her hand and leaded her way were her family and Lutz, and she also only asked for them not to abandon her. And in Part 5 it's confirmed that out of all the people Rozemyne cherish, Lutz is the one she loves the most in this world (at least that's how Ferdinand interpreted), as based on the rules of "the more you cherish the more memory will be taken away", the ranking of the people whose memories were been robbed away from Rozemyne will be Lutz > Gunther, Effa and Tuuli >>> Benno, Marco and Ferdinand. (So basically the author admit herself here that the person most important and most influential to Rozemyne's subconscious self is still Lutz, after all these years.... Though basically I don't think that's in a "first love" sense, more like a platonic one.) And when Ferdinand asked Rozemyne would she ever let go of the chance marrying Lutz, she never directly explain things like "I'm not interested in Lutz he's too young for Urano" or "why are you misunderstanding we're just friends", but she simply thought and said something like "I'm not healthy enough to qualify as a commoners wife, and someone like me isn't good enough for Lutz, so I wish he could have someone better than me as his wife." And finally, again in P5 Rozemyne chat with Hannelore about romance, and as she thought she's never been in love she tried to fake a "imaginary first love" image to match the mood, and she decided "I'll just mixed Lutz's and Fran's images together to create my imaginary first love " , then she told Hannelore "I've already had a fiance decidy by my parents, but out of that I also has somebody important to me" "he's someone I've known long before being baptized, he's always by my side supporting me, whenever I'm upset or frustrated he's always there helping me to face it, and now he's someone unreachable to me. Still the promise I've made with him before is what I put myself into." ( .....Well as we can see, theses are mostly her opinions towards Lutz, and the only part you can find Fran in might be the first lines, which....also matches Lutz better to be honest.) And ad Hannelore being nobility, she assumed "Somebody supporting Rozemyne and always by your side before baptism, that could only be refering to Ferdinand! So you love Ferdinand right?" But the funny thing is that Tuuli also heard Hannelore saying that, then back home Tuuli assumed "Always there for her and supporting her helping her, long before baptism, to nobles who don't know her past maybe this could only be lord Ferdinand, but in my opinion this is more like talking about Lutz" So well, based on how Tuuli's also the only one clearly pointed out Lutz's first love was Myne, I think it could also be the author speaking indirectly here through Tuuli, that Lutz surely once was something similar to Myne as well. Considering the author also said that Myne and Lutz would eventually get married if the two of them never been separated due to he possessing mana (they'll become a commoner couple like Joseph and Heidi ), I think theses are all quiet reasonable inspections. But I'm not saying that the relationship between Fermai and Lutztulli are fake. Both Lutz and Myne already moved on (though Myne maybe never even noticed that), and they do have health realtionship with their new romantic life partners, but they still have very strong platonic and familial ties. P5 confirmed that as the first person recognised her existence and allow her alien nature in this world, Lutz will forever hold an irreplaceable place in Rozemyne's heart, and Lutz actually does dedicate the rest of his life fulfilling his promise with Myne (to print books and to give her piles of them to read), as the author confirmed that Lutz eventually opened a book shop in that world ten years later.
I'm only halfway through part 3 of the light novels but I accidentally stumbled upon Ferninand and Myne end game and had to look into more! Their interactions just bring me so much joy I cannot even describe! I can't wait to finish this series!

Oooh thanks for the explaining on JosefxHeidi part. It does looks a bit too familiar to me. Especially bout the part in anime when Heidi just went into another person's workshop absentmindedly and caused trouble. I can imagine Myne doing that. Which makes a lot more sense if Myne is more conscious about the state of the world and her mana. So thats why the author drove the writing that way... Pretty interesting.

When I first found out about the end game main ship, I was horrified. But 677 chapters later, it is the only one that makes sense. I only wished the author wrote a few more time skipped chapters showing Rozemyne eventually returning his feelings, the progress of their duchy, and finally them being loving parents to their mana powerhouse golden eyed kids.
ok i'll just say that if FerMyne is an actual thing there's going to have to be a LONG LONG LONG LONG way to go. I'm in vol. 17 (which is very early all things considered) and I can only see, at most, a bickering pair or brother/sister. (consider that I actually don't really like the "old couple bickering all the time" dynamic a lot of people like)

Hello. I'm commenting here at least 1 year into the future where the prepub is at week 2 of Part 5 Volume 7. And holy smokes, I got minor spoiled there. But it's at least not too major since I kinda knew it would go in that general direction. I can't wait for the official translations to reach the end. Just hearing about each ship somehow brought tears to my eyes as I remember the journey. This series is such a special one.
great video! my heart flutters when i see ascendance related contents coz its so underrated 😭🤍 anyway here’s some additional thoughts to the video [SPOILER AHEAD] ....... ascendance of a bookworm isn’t really romance-centered in any way. especially when our protagonist, rozemyne, openly declares her lack of interest into having a romantic relationship with anyone multiple times (and i think she also briefly mentioned that if she‘s permitted to really choose a partner, it would be someone closer to the age of her past self) with romance leaping out of the window, the most important merit that she wants to get in a marriage are obviously-books. just books and eternal life of reading. this lack of romantic interest may be also due to her knowledge that her engagements are purely political moves made by the archduke and for their duchy. but nah, she’s just crazy for books and family that she ain’t have extra space or time for that 🤣 i also see a lot of comments hating on fermai ship. which is a shame because for me, their engagement was the most touching and happiest moment in the series. by the end, you will realize that ferdinand is the only noble who have the power to protect rozemyne and the only marriage candidate who’s ever considered her true happiness. and more than anything, he gave her freedom to pursue what she wants. so yeaa... as much as i want rozemyne to let loose and fall in love with someone in her story, it just really makes little sense if our little rampaging gremlin booklover suddenly get into a love frenzy phase-considering her personality lmao. but im def all in for fermai. it’s so refreshing to see such strong platonic relationship between them.

Honestly, I didn't. I figured she'd end up with a prince, it was only until reading Web Novel that I slowly began to come to that inevitable conclusion... and I loved it.
(Spoiler) In the Light Novel, Hugo and Ella have already gotten married. During Rosemyne's long sleep, Hugo casually mentioned to Ella, "let's get married," out of the blue when he realizes he has feeling for her. Of course she accepts, but they both decide to wait until Rosemyne wakes up so that she would be the one performing the Starbinding ceremony. Bridgette also wanted to wait, but time was not available for her. She left her retainoership to marry and return home before Rosemyne woke up. Additionally, a love interest for Bennou has been introduced in the form of a merchant's daughter from a neighboring province. Her father noticed Bennou wasn't married and sought to establish favorable opportunities through marriage, even going so far as dumping her daughter in town when he says no, expecting him to take care of her. As it turned out, she was highly skilled and also had little romantic interest in Bennou. Rosemyne secretly cheers the two on, hoping that Bennou doesn't kill her as promised if she learns about Rosemyne's past.

I’m not going to watch the video because I don’t want spoilers, but I wanted to get my initial thoughts out there after reading the LN part 4 volume 4. Rozemyne is going to out grow Wilfred’s mana capacity forcing their engagement to break due to pressure. She is then going to get engaged to the third prince who is one (two) year(s) younger than her. He was mention in the epilogue and I think that is a decent drama route to head down. Tuli and Lutz possibly, but I imagine he may go The Way of the Beno. They have too much in common, and she has more social status than Ralph. Ferdinand may have someone out there I’m not aware of yet, but that impossible romance would be his couple if he does not stay unmarried.
I really feel for Damiel but if there is hope outside of wedding another one of Rosemyne's subordinates there is the chance he is a prime candidate for a bride in Alexandria. A personal guard knight of the Arch duchess herself, even a lay noble with med noble mana must be a valuable political marriage prospect.
Spoilers! . . . . The problem with that is that they agree Damuel won't follow after Rozemyne until after he is married due to the possibility of people suspecting an illicit relationship between them. This was discussed more in terms of her bringing him to the Sovereignty with her, but even when that plan falls through, it's still clear that they are both planning for him to stay in Ehrenfest until Philine comes of age and they can join her together. Of course, that plan could change after the end of the story, but for the moment it seems like he and Philine are planning to marry.
SPOILER ALERT 🚨 >> I can finally say I finished the web novel. 🥲 I wish there was more . I wanna know how rozemyne is viewed as Alexandrian in The noble school and how her aids are viewed. Also I want more interactions after rozemyne was able to meet her family downtown again. I’m so heartbroken that there will be no additional chapters only SS. I want ferdinand and rozemyne to have more romantic stories 🥲 how I wish there’s more chapters like until they get kids and until rozemyne realizes her romantic feelings 😭

Luckily author's sequel web novel is still ongoing. It's the fifth year from Hannelore's viewpoint so currently not so much about Rozemyne and Ferdinand. But the story has taken very interesting turn for two of them and I'm waiting to read their viewpoint of the situation. Updates come rarely as Miya Katsuki is currently busy with light novel, anime etc.

Man sometimes I feel like I'm the only Myne/Benno shipper on deck. He's just as viable as Ferdinand and has a more interesting personality imho. I was really disappointed it never got even sort of a little traction. Lutz/Myne is adorable too but it was shut down pretty early on. Either way like you said, Myne is in the weird position of being Lutz's physical age but Benno and Ferdinand's mental age, so it's unfortunate for her no matter which way you slice it.
I didn't remember 75% of what you talked about regarding TuulixLutz. I knew about Tuuli's crush on Benno and about how Tuuli and Lutz are both tied up with Rozemyne and the lower cities opinion of the two of them. But the stuff about her being stolen away is news.
Reading part 5 volume 4 and why is nobody talking about Sylvester’s ship. I was so stunned. Rosemyne was so startled she started to insult Sylvester by saying he was a terrible partner, and listing all his faults. I had to rewatch this in case it was covered. Does each book cover a year? Part 5 has 12 volumes so I am curious how it will all get resolved. I hope Hannelore gets to marry Willfried. Perhaps she can train him.

I understand the dissatisfaction with Lutz X Tuuli, but the worldbuilding of this series does a good job of underwriting why they would come together. Also, love can bloom after an arranged marriage. It's wildly different from the romance-based relationships that are the norm for lots of people in the world these days. Sure, there may be a slow burn to it all, but the circumstances of romance are quite different in the world Miya Kazuki has crafted. Romance is a luxury that is oddly more accessible to people the lower one goes down the social hierarchy. Of course, a whole lot of complications comes into play with this, as well, but that is irrelevant for the romantic discussion. I would definitely like to see more stories released about Lutz and Tuuli growing fond of each other.
I have be completely honest. I was all on board the ship. During the very beginning of the series. Myne and Lutz have a strong bond, they always tend to help one another. Like how Lutz didn't have any food for the winter because his older brothers were taking it, so she assisted him. Also Lutz help Myne with all her inventions to create substitute books. Including paper.

The first time you see it, your .minf goes, okay, this is not whay i think it is. But mind you, it is still weird after seeing them 10 years later. Really the reason i dropped the series.
I actually thought she would end up with lutz. Well mostly bc I love lutz(not romantically), his adorable...you know how you have some characters that you like alot but not in romantic way bur like you want to protect them and squeeze them to death bc how cute they are...but yea that's why I shipped them and I was sure he had some romantic feelings for her but nvm...I just want my fav characters to be happy in the end that's all what's matters
Loved the video! I have read the entire web novel and most of the light novel (other than parts 1 & 2) in Japanese, and am working my way through the side stories now too. Just wanted to mention, there is a side story where it is confirmed that Myne was Lutz's first love. He's thinking about how Tulli was Ralph's first love and how she is just as much out of Ralph's reach as Myne is out of his. There's also a part where he is interacting with Tulli and thinking about how obsessed they both are with Myne (she as her sister, he as someone in love with her) and he says something to Tulli that hints that he is starting to have feelings for her and wishes she would pay as much attention to him as she does to Myne. So I do definitely feel that Kazuki-sensei is leading the two of them to slowly developing feelings for one another!
Also, thank you so much for your great explanation of why the Fermai ship is THE ABSOLUTE BEST SHIP EVER oh my god. Like, when you think back over the whole story and everything they went through and then look at where they end up at the end... THE EMOTIONS ;____; I get why people who haven't read the full story might side-eye this ship, but once you experience the full story, it just makes perfect sense. Ferumai forever (though I still wish Lestilaut could have become Myne's second husband heh heh heh).

Although Myne DOES reach a position at the end where she actually can have multiple husbands, Lestilaut is destined to be Aub Dunkelferger. He can't be married out.
Emotionally, he's just 1 step down in quality from Ferdinand, and definitely viable. The only mark against him is him not knowing about her commoner family, but if she has Ferdinand as her 1st husband then her meetings with her commoner family can quite easily be disguised as her just "doing things" with her 1st husband and it's all good. Ironically, the Ferdinand X Rosemine ship actually MAKES the Lestilaut X Rosemine ship work by clearing up the only real complaint from Mine's side of things.
This ship is sunk on purely political grounds, which is a shame. The political difficulty given from Lestilaut's side is almost as critical as the emotional one cleared up by Ferdinand's involvement on Rosemine's side.
(Makes me wonder if Lestilaut could pull an Anastasius here and abandon power for the sake of love, then lead Alexandria into regular Ditter competitions with his old home of Dunkelferger.)
She throws me off with the WN references… the LN at JNC is only at P5V2 I think so it’s SPOILERY…. That said… reading the timeline on the fandom site doesn’t help much either.
It certainly eases the age factor knowing it’s 1) only 10~ years difference, and 2) her body actually ages (fast forward) at a point to make it easier to adjust to… (endgame ship)

I'm still not over Lutz not being endgame.... but (as an anime only) hearing the explanation for Ferdinand peeked my interest enough to look forward to it.
Yeah, when I started anime, I was dude he cool ( high priest), but I wanted someone sweet to myne. Lutz was so sweet to her, build after reading the web novel. Am so much fermyne shipper now. It more am will ship myne/ Rozemyne to other people but I can't see Ferdinand with other.
The Moment Ferdinand when convincing her she need to learn the hardspieal pointed out she needs to marry someone with compatible Mana level, Lutz ship was dead.
If you look at Myne's relationships with Lutz and Ferdinand, I think it's safe to say that Myne was on track to fall in love with Lutz too. She never eventually did because they were broken apart by status and mana compatibility, but the progression was basically the same as with Ferdinand. Myne/Rozemyne never really honestly admit or, rather, acknowledge her own feelings until the end and instead always thought she was considering the "other one" as family instead of a love interest. With Lutz, she simply didn't reach that stage.

With that said, this gets morally grey real quick... This being unique as well literally view most of the story from her perspective, even if she is an unreliable narrator at times.
@@JPminer814 reasoning yes, maturity I would debate. We see time and time again Myne being naïve, emotionally volatile and emotionally needy all very indicative of her young age. Its like how a child genius can have the intelligence of an adult but they shouldn't be treated the exact same as an adult because emotionally they aren't on the same level. That being said I don't begrudge anyone who ships them, it's perfectly fine to do so it just doesn't work for me, I wish they had just stayed close in a non-romantic way

About the Fermai, if i'm not wrong, by reading her memories, he started wondering about the kind of family she had and what kind of family he or anybody in his world had. the difference in bonding was so overwhelming that it was one of the greatest reasons why he started having feelings for Rosemyne. That's my shipp and it's wholesome.

How she will get it? I am pretty sure Ferdinand will give it to her since at, one point in book, Ferdinand wanted to get her mana for research and she said her price for mana is library. Ferdinand was in thought and said nothing. Taking this all into account there is possibility that she will actually end up with Ferdinand.

I'm still reading the licensed light novels (it's hard to find a consistent and good translation of the webnovel in my country) so I know its probably a long time coming for me, but I ALWAYS knew Fermai would be endgame! Even as they denied it while she was young, they were always so important to each other and shared an intimacy, mutual respect and comfort she literally could not have with anyone else. I also agree with the lutz x tulli ship because it actually works. It might not be passionate but they are both caring and nurturing individuals. They'd have a very comfortable romance.

Yeah grown up Lestilaut is somethin' else... as to Ferdinand and Myne their bind is much deeper than simply a romantic one. I love that about them. There's lots of good things ahead, this series only gets better and better!

@@mujtv9366 from what I've read , Ferdinand and myne ended up engaged, but have not yet married and she hasn't finished school yet. But I've also read that the author is going to continue the story in the Light Novel once all of the novels (Japanese) have been released. I prefer the light novel over the web novel because she includes additional material.
Basically Ferdinand is the only one who is of the right age for Myne.
The problem with Fermai is that it only becomes a pleasant ship when you experience their engagement in real time when reading the LN and the whole story progression the two get. I too was spoiled of the ship when I was only in the middle of part 3, and it was gross then. And then, get to the end of part 5, and it is the best ship ever.

In terms of the Ferdinand ship, I found it a little interesting how they suddenly stopped decoding the noble euphemisms near the end when it came to their courtship. Someone who has followed along though would know exactly what was meant by him telling her to keep his name dedication stone because it would be a "Shield of Schutzaria" for her.
To decode the message, he was basically telling her he wouldn't accept it back until she was ready to have children with him, beings her reasoning for wanting them not to dedicate names to each other was because she didn't want a case where they had children and suddenly lost both parents at the same time due to one or the other of them dying tragically.
She really knows how to take something normally thought of as romantic and turn it on it's head. From this perspective, the practice of mutual name dedication is revealed to be selfish and irresponsible on the part of the parties involved.
Although, one other thing in this is how it contrasts with the events earlier with Deltrinde. Who, as it just so happens, is a living embodiment of the words "selfish" and "irresponsible."

I'm embarrassed to admit that my brain read it like that too the first time around.
Myne only ships herself with books. Rosamyne matures enough by the time she grows up that she eventually falls for the person who knows all of her which is Ferdinand.
To be completely honest I thought Ferdinand and Myne would have a mentor and student relationship. Instead of getting shipped and married.
In fairness, that is still most of it. Also in his defense he only began to grow any additional feelings for her until he saw her in her memories as an actual full grown woman. She is actually 2-7 years older then him depending on if you count original Mynes life or not, so it’s at least less sketch (especially since she had to literally mind meld with him again before he actually admitted the love)

It might be later that he really starts developing romantic feelings; my theory is in Part 4 when Myne demanded what he wanted to do after he’s forced to marry Detlinde that he started to have some romantic feelings (plus from SS when he made the hairpin for Myne).

I highly recommend looking up the fanfic: Book of Veðrfölnir on archive of our own. It’s a fanfic of the ferdinand x rozemyne ship but rozemyne is around the same age as ferdinand and not from ehrenfest but dunkelfelger. It’s very well written with the relationship between ferdinand and rozemyne taking centre stage while introducing some other interesting characters. It’s also still being updated regularly. It does contain elements that have yet to be revealed in the lightnovel and spoils some stuff.
the previous fanfic from the authors of Book of Veðrfölnir is Finding a Tune for Blueanfa's Dance. It's about Ferdinands conquest of Rozemynes heart, to change him from the highest bidder for her hand to a man she will romantically love. The authors do a great job and to me that fanfic is canon, because the characters stay true to their LN selves and i picked up details i missed in the LNs. Just like the Understanding fanfic, which has the same qualities.

Falling in love for marriage was considered in the sort of time frame Bookworm covers, a romantic ideal but not something most people had. The reality was just not reachable for most. That Myne's parents and our favorite ex-wandering trader had found love is very, very rare. Most couples in that kind of time frame look at what works for the couple, both socially and economically. It's why Lutz's ultimate partner makes sense, even if they aren't in love with each other.
I think Lutz and Tuuli work because Lutz is basically in training to be Benno (total didn't know she liked him) and Tuuli is a calm, efficient, and subtle flavor of Myne.
They are both such awesome hardworking loving people they will fall in love with each other. They will have wonderful babies and Rozmyne will gift them many books.
I guess Lutz sees Tulli as his brother love interest that’s why he never had romantic interest in her as a child, but in LN he’s lovestruck when he saw her mature appearance after he came back from a long trip. He easily fell for her when there’s no brother obstacle. The passion is definitely there at least on Lutz part. Idk about Tulli yet.

At the few last chapter of the wn, Rozemyne talked to Ferdinand that said her commoners family, Lutz and Ferdinand is the only one that she considered more important than books.
While both of them do love each other, it was not really specific what kind of love, Ferdinand only want a real family while Rozemyne didn't want Ferdinand to be left alone anymore, even when they talked about future children, they talked about it because it was Rozemyne duty as an archduke to continue her bloodline, and not because they really want it either.

Also I was a fellow Lutz x Rozemyne ship until the goodbye scene from book 3 part 4 , I crushed my heart so badly . Now I'm shipping her with the Archiduc Candidate of Dunkelfelger (I don't have his name in my mind right now) because I'm a fan of the love hate , rival type of ship . Even with all those ships I have to say that in my mind I always knew she will be ending with Ferdinand .
It depends on whose Dunkelfelger AC... Hannelore, sure, Lestilaut, it would be mean for Rozemyne, he turned kind of a passive aggressive version of Hartmut following her dazzling Dedication Whirl, if you ask me :p.

Myne and Lutz is like a young relationship that ended amicably and ended up as best friends. There may have been something there at one point but as it went on they realized that it wouldn't work out. It fits Lutz since he comes off as extremely mature for his age. The part that peacefully sunk this ship for me was actually Damuel and Brigitte ship sinking. It showed how important noble standing is and that if Myne were to be shipped with Lutz it would literally be worse for everyone because of their statuses.

Biggest problem for shipping Myne is her magic level. She and her partner need to have close to the same magic levels. There's a doubt that even Ferdie is close enough to her. For this she might not find a noble in the city she could marry.
Though i could see Lutz and Turry together. Falling for each other as they work togeather, with lutz's contract allowing her to see myne even as she becomes rosemyne.
Actually Ferdinand has more mana than Myne but like a 1%-2% difference. And also there is 1 more noble capable of marrying myne but he is an ass.

Great thing about Damuel and Philline is that they're not stuck at laynobles forever. It'll be old age before they get there, but if 3 generations of a family have mana as high as the next rank they will be able to ascend to the higher rank. They'll have to wait until they're old, but their retirement will be in comfort.

About Tuuli x Lutz, there's stories in their POV about them in the SS storage! The thing about that ship is how practical they are about it, in terms of matching salaries, dowry, and how their families can support each other but at the same time the years of trust and friendship strengthened their relationship. There's this one SS where Tuuli first saw Myne as a beautiful, grown woman and swoons over her and tells Lutz about it. At this point she still thinks Lutz has feelings for her, and tells him that he'll fall in love for sure if they ever meet again. But Lutz gets all pouty.
There was a lot of little hints about benno x myne, but even so I only see them platonically. The physical age gap made me just as iffy about the ship as Ferdinand x Myne, but Fermyne snuck in with its TOP TIER DEVELOPMENT. I can't see them end up with anyone but each other, its perfect. However, I loved Lestilaut. It's the bookworm x jock, enemies to lovers, best-friend's-older-brother type of ship and I was all aboard until mid part 5, and I can't see Rozemyne having feelinsg for him. First of all, she would be MISERABLE in Dunkelfelger, and second, he would have a 2nd wife. I get that it's normal in this universe, but I prefer monogamy. Also Ferdinand vowed that he wouldn't take any lovers besides Rozemyne, so yayy ship sailed.
I was also all aboard the Eglantine x Rozemyne ship until part 5.5. The betrayal I felt my god I was so mad.
Best hannelore ship is Hanne x Kentrips. Dude is so in love with her and the only one who respects her decisions without any political influence, he even helps her get together with her crush!
But if lestilaut has 2 wifes myne has more time to read!

Also the problem with Lestilaut- he is QUITE impressionable and opinionated... which is the duchy-wide problem actually. He DOES acknowledge her value but he hardly respect her wish. He push what he wants by force ... do UNDERSTAND that bride stealing ditter he starts is actually ILLEGAL by his duchy's law because Rozemyne DOES NOT want it- he LIES to his parents thinking if he win it- he can just force it because he has won her like some sort of prize.
He DID this too with his own sister- she just comment about the royal dolls (Scwrarz and Weiss) are cute- NOTHINg on wanting them and he run for it ALSO NEVER apologize accusing Rozemyne of treason. Yes- it's that bad... it's royal artefact, belong to the royals- you don't accuse someone stealing them in random. Added with his duchy's position as Zent's sword, that's a super serious accusation.
I want as many seasons as we can. I need more.

Benno x Myne (my ship since p1) author and current commoners world view this might sail, but author on Twitter says this will be doomed to fail becoz of all her upcoming enemies within business sector (not counting the noble route).
Rozemyne x Lestilaut has a chance, but we are monogamous people. Her life will be endangered by the other wives. Also the backstory of Dunkelfelger as Zent's sword and being on upper rank common sense doom this ship. Just like what Author says about Bonifatius that he will not accept the secret with Myne and will be cold or turn his back on her (if ever he knew she is not his granddaughter). This will end up tragically. Good thing this boy got dusted on 5-2.
Rozemyne x Sigizwald like I said their common sense as upper rank will collide. If ever she become 3rd wife. Rozemyne spoke her terms but the terms come out from the other ear of Sigizwald. This is the type of person who don't listen. He is worse than Wilfred. Remember what he did with Adolphine?
Ferdinand x Myne one sentence won't explain how their relationship evolve for 600+ chapters. Myne love reading books, their feelings as they write it this was evident on the prologue in the wn:
"I love how the printed words let me reach out and touch another person’s ideas, their fantasies. My heart dances along the roads of thought laid down by the author, and I can’t help but smile."
Most of the books she read on that world are handwritten/author by Ferdinand (during his school days). The reports and legend she got about him. If I'm not bias all I can say she has a low key crush on him already since he started defending his actions on part 2. Off course none of that mattered until their engagement scene. Like what Effa who doesn't feel for Gunther at the beginning, that scene also parallel their devolopment. With all the rereading I made, I can say the engagement scene where she cried was the door opener for her. That's the moment she fall for him.

In my opinion, based on the author's writing, I think Lutz and Myne were eachother's first love, but they never got the chance to realize it nor get together, and as they grew up they both developed feelings with their new partners : Lutz with Tuuli, Rozemyne with Ferdinand.
(I'll say that you couldn't really trust what Myne/Rozemyne said about herself, because the author seems to design her as an unreliable narrator, and even other characters could be like that sometimes, si unless the author recognise herself I won't easily believe what the MC says, but rather using clues and hints.)
As everybody see, young Lutz and Myne were very close, and that was never ever clearly confirmed as anything out of childhood friendship. Lutz and Myne themselves cherish eachother but neither of them think that's in a romantic way. But I believe that actually could be that case, just Myne herself was too slow to something like romance, and Lutz doesn't want to admit that even he figured it out, and both of them were too young at that moment.
If you read into it, Lutz never ever really admit that Myne was his "first love", the closest we could get is he comparing himself to his brother, Ralph, who still think Tuuli as someone "special" to him though he already has a lover, and thinking "we brothers are really alike. Even after all these years Myne is still special to me." But in Tuuli's eyes, it's clear that Lutz had always been in love with her little sister, she knows and loves to tease Lutz about that, and Tuuli also knows that was almost something in the past, hence an unreachable first love (as she teased Lutz again how he'll fall for Rozemyne "again" once he see how she'd grown up.) Even Benno once suspect little Lutz fixation on little Myne could be something closer to a crush than friendship before, so we really couldn't just trust Lutz's own POV and narration (as both him and the author clearly hidden something among in the lines), but rather rely on other characters POV.
And Myne was the same as well. Do not believe that "I was reincarnated so I couldn't feel anything for guys that be are younger then my past self" thing, cause Rozemyne only thought about that when referring to how herself don't have romantic feelings for Wilfred, but whenever asked about her relationship with Lutz she never used age as an explanation, instead took out other aspects to explain how she and Lutz couldn't be together....
In my opinion, that's just how Rozemyne tried to rationalize how she couldn't feel interested in Wilfred (and the real answer could be that he's just really not her type).
Myne/Rozemyne sometimes doesn't really understand herself, especially when it comes to romances (as we can see in the final chapter), and the author has already confirmed that she's still "Myne the little girl, but awaken with reincarnated memories of her past self Urano", so getting interested in guys younger than Urano wouldn't be that astonishing cause she's actually still Myne herself, just she misunderstood her being Urano replacing the original soul. And even though she never get romantic feelings nor reactions around Wilfred or Lestilaut, she DID blush and feel flustered around Lutz sometimes in their childhood before, so not interested in younger guys? Bullshit.
More importantly, just like grown-up Lutz said that Myne is still special to him, Lutz himself is special to Rozemyne, too. Lutz has always been the sole one as important as her biological family (not just simply as a part of her Gutenberg gang), and the first one she got attached to and trusted in this world. An interesting fact is that Myne had got in danger twice, once in Part 2 and the next time in Part 3: When she was attacked in P2, the person she immediately called out for help wasn't her mom or dad, but Lutz; and in Part 3 she first think of the reliable people around and nearby, the knights, her nobility family and guardians...then she stated subconsciously seeking help from her commors relatives again, her father, and finally.....Lutz again.
You can see that Lutz's is like some kind of parent deep inside her mind. People ask help from their mother subconsciously when they're in danger keven if mommy couldn't really help the situation either), and Myne did the same towards Lutz. To her Lutz has been an equal to her parents, the first one she even find home within even before she developed trust to he own biological families. She said herself in web novel that Lutz's the one recognised her existence, even almost at the end of the series Rozemyne still deems Lutz as " that person who kept me here in this world" . When she dreamt about the people dear to her (commoners, merchants, Ferdinand and Gil and Fran), the ones who hold her hand and leaded her way were her family and Lutz, and she also only asked for them not to abandon her. And in Part 5 it's confirmed that out of all the people Rozemyne cherish, Lutz is the one she loves the most in this world (at least that's how Ferdinand interpreted), as based on the rules of "the more you cherish the more memory will be taken away", the ranking of the people whose memories were been robbed away from Rozemyne will be Lutz > Gunther, Effa and Tuuli >>> Benno, Marco and Ferdinand.
(So basically the author admit herself here that the person most important and most influential to Rozemyne's subconscious self is still Lutz, after all these years.... Though basically I don't think that's in a "first love" sense, more like a platonic one.) And when Ferdinand asked Rozemyne would she ever let go of the chance marrying Lutz, she never directly explain things like "I'm not interested in Lutz he's too young for Urano" or "why are you misunderstanding we're just friends", but she simply thought and said something like "I'm not healthy enough to qualify as a commoners wife, and someone like me isn't good enough for Lutz, so I wish he could have someone better than me as his wife."
And finally, again in P5 Rozemyne chat with Hannelore about romance, and as she thought she's never been in love she tried to fake a "imaginary first love" image to match the mood, and she decided "I'll just mixed Lutz's and Fran's images together to create my imaginary first love " , then she told Hannelore "I've already had a fiance decidy by my parents, but out of that I also has somebody important to me" "he's someone I've known long before being baptized, he's always by my side supporting me, whenever I'm upset or frustrated he's always there helping me to face it, and now he's someone unreachable to me. Still the promise I've made with him before is what I put myself into." ( .....Well as we can see, theses are mostly her opinions towards Lutz, and the only part you can find Fran in might be the first lines, which....also matches Lutz better to be honest.)
And ad Hannelore being nobility, she assumed "Somebody supporting Rozemyne and always by your side before baptism, that could only be refering to Ferdinand! So you love Ferdinand right?"
But the funny thing is that Tuuli also heard Hannelore saying that, then back home Tuuli assumed "Always there for her and supporting her helping her, long before baptism, to nobles who don't know her past maybe this could only be lord Ferdinand, but in my opinion this is more like talking about Lutz"
So well, based on how Tuuli's also the only one clearly pointed out Lutz's first love was Myne, I think it could also be the author speaking indirectly here through Tuuli, that Lutz surely once was something similar to Myne as well. Considering the author also said that Myne and Lutz would eventually get married if the two of them never been separated due to he possessing mana (they'll become a commoner couple like Joseph and Heidi ), I think theses are all quiet reasonable inspections.
But I'm not saying that the relationship between Fermai and Lutztulli are fake. Both Lutz and Myne already moved on (though Myne maybe never even noticed that), and they do have health realtionship with their new romantic life partners, but they still have very strong platonic and familial ties.
P5 confirmed that as the first person recognised her existence and allow her alien nature in this world, Lutz will forever hold an irreplaceable place in Rozemyne's heart, and Lutz actually does dedicate the rest of his life fulfilling his promise with Myne (to print books and to give her piles of them to read), as the author confirmed that Lutz eventually opened a book shop in that world ten years later.
I'm only halfway through part 3 of the light novels but I accidentally stumbled upon Ferninand and Myne end game and had to look into more! Their interactions just bring me so much joy I cannot even describe! I can't wait to finish this series!

Oooh thanks for the explaining on JosefxHeidi part. It does looks a bit too familiar to me. Especially bout the part in anime when Heidi just went into another person's workshop absentmindedly and caused trouble. I can imagine Myne doing that. Which makes a lot more sense if Myne is more conscious about the state of the world and her mana. So thats why the author drove the writing that way... Pretty interesting.

When I first found out about the end game main ship, I was horrified. But 677 chapters later, it is the only one that makes sense. I only wished the author wrote a few more time skipped chapters showing Rozemyne eventually returning his feelings, the progress of their duchy, and finally them being loving parents to their mana powerhouse golden eyed kids.
ok i'll just say that if FerMyne is an actual thing there's going to have to be a LONG LONG LONG LONG way to go. I'm in vol. 17 (which is very early all things considered) and I can only see, at most, a bickering pair or brother/sister.

Hello. I'm commenting here at least 1 year into the future where the prepub is at week 2 of Part 5 Volume 7. And holy smokes, I got minor spoiled there. But it's at least not too major since I kinda knew it would go in that general direction. I can't wait for the official translations to reach the end. Just hearing about each ship somehow brought tears to my eyes as I remember the journey. This series is such a special one.

ascendance of a bookworm isn’t really romance-centered in any way. especially when our protagonist, rozemyne, openly declares her lack of interest into having a romantic relationship with anyone multiple times (and i think she also briefly mentioned that if she‘s permitted to really choose a partner, it would be someone closer to the age of her past self) with romance leaping out of the window, the most important merit that she wants to get in a marriage are obviously-books. just books and eternal life of reading.
this lack of romantic interest may be also due to her knowledge that her engagements are purely political moves made by the archduke and for their duchy. but nah, she’s just crazy for books and family that she ain’t have extra space or time for that 🤣
i also see a lot of comments hating on fermai ship. which is a shame because for me, their engagement was the most touching and happiest moment in the series. by the end, you will realize that ferdinand is the only noble who have the power to protect rozemyne and the only marriage candidate who’s ever considered her true happiness. and more than anything, he gave her freedom to pursue what she wants.
so yeaa... as much as i want rozemyne to let loose and fall in love with someone in her story, it just really makes little sense if our little rampaging gremlin booklover suddenly get into a love frenzy phase-considering her personality lmao. but im def all in for fermai. it’s so refreshing to see such strong platonic relationship between them.

Watching this I realised that any ships involving Myne makes me uncomfortable because of the age difference between Myne and Urano.
Weird right, also pissed Lutz doesn’t win Myne……should’ve killed him and had myne grieve into fedinands arms(just so I can accept it)
I kinda figured that was who she would end up with when they explained the whole ( you can only have children with someone with similar mana).
Honestly, I didn't. I figured she'd end up with a prince, it was only until reading Web Novel that I slowly began to come to that inevitable conclusion... and I loved it.

In the Light Novel, Hugo and Ella have already gotten married. During Rosemyne's long sleep, Hugo casually mentioned to Ella, "let's get married," out of the blue when he realizes he has feeling for her. Of course she accepts, but they both decide to wait until Rosemyne wakes up so that she would be the one performing the Starbinding ceremony. Bridgette also wanted to wait, but time was not available for her. She left her retainoership to marry and return home before Rosemyne woke up.
Additionally, a love interest for Bennou has been introduced in the form of a merchant's daughter from a neighboring province. Her father noticed Bennou wasn't married and sought to establish favorable opportunities through marriage, even going so far as dumping her daughter in town when he says no, expecting him to take care of her. As it turned out, she was highly skilled and also had little romantic interest in Bennou. Rosemyne secretly cheers the two on, hoping that Bennou doesn't kill her as promised if she learns about Rosemyne's past.
Technically, Ella decided to wait until Rozemyne wakes up on her own ;).

I’m not going to watch the video because I don’t want spoilers, but I wanted to get my initial thoughts out there after reading the LN part 4 volume 4. Rozemyne is going to out grow Wilfred’s mana capacity forcing their engagement to break due to pressure. She is then going to get engaged to the third prince who is one (two) year(s) younger than her. He was mention in the epilogue and I think that is a decent drama route to head down.
Tuli and Lutz possibly, but I imagine he may go The Way of the Beno. They have too much in common, and she has more social status than Ralph.
Ferdinand may have someone out there I’m not aware of yet, but that impossible romance would be his couple if he does not stay unmarried.

The problem with that is that they agree Damuel won't follow after Rozemyne until after he is married due to the possibility of people suspecting an illicit relationship between them. This was discussed more in terms of her bringing him to the Sovereignty with her, but even when that plan falls through, it's still clear that they are both planning for him to stay in Ehrenfest until Philine comes of age and they can join her together. Of course, that plan could change after the end of the story, but for the moment it seems like he and Philine are planning to marry.
SPOILER ALERT 🚨 >> I can finally say I finished the web novel. 🥲 I wish there was more . I wanna know how rozemyne is viewed as Alexandrian in The noble school and how her aids are viewed. Also I want more interactions after rozemyne was able to meet her family downtown again. I’m so heartbroken that there will be no additional chapters only SS. I want ferdinand and rozemyne to have more romantic stories 🥲 how I wish there’s more chapters like until they get kids and until rozemyne realizes her romantic feelings 😭

Luckily author's sequel web novel is still ongoing. It's the fifth year from Hannelore's viewpoint so currently not so much about Rozemyne and Ferdinand. But the story has taken very interesting turn for two of them and I'm waiting to read their viewpoint of the situation. Updates come rarely as Miya Katsuki is currently busy with light novel, anime etc.

Man sometimes I feel like I'm the only Myne/Benno shipper on deck. He's just as viable as Ferdinand and has a more interesting personality imho. I was really disappointed it never got even sort of a little traction. Lutz/Myne is adorable too but it was shut down pretty early on.
Either way like you said, Myne is in the weird position of being Lutz's physical age but Benno and Ferdinand's mental age, so it's unfortunate for her no matter which way you slice it.
I love this novel so much. I was getting impatient and pre-pub was not enough so I went to read MTL webnovel.
I didn't remember 75% of what you talked about regarding TuulixLutz. I knew about Tuuli's crush on Benno and about how Tuuli and Lutz are both tied up with Rozemyne and the lower cities opinion of the two of them.

Reading part 5 volume 4 and why is nobody talking about Sylvester’s ship. I was so stunned. Rosemyne was so startled she started to insult Sylvester by saying he was a terrible partner, and listing all his faults. I had to rewatch this in case it was covered. Does each book cover a year? Part 5 has 12 volumes so I am curious how it will all get resolved. I hope Hannelore gets to marry Willfried. Perhaps she can train him.

I understand the dissatisfaction with Lutz X Tuuli, but the worldbuilding of this series does a good job of underwriting why they would come together. Also, love can bloom after an arranged marriage. It's wildly different from the romance-based relationships that are the norm for lots of people in the world these days. Sure, there may be a slow burn to it all, but the circumstances of romance are quite different in the world Miya Kazuki has crafted. Romance is a luxury that is oddly more accessible to people the lower one goes down the social hierarchy. Of course, a whole lot of complications comes into play with this, as well, but that is irrelevant for the romantic discussion. I would definitely like to see more stories released about Lutz and Tuuli growing fond of each other.
I mean, if nothing else, they have the shared experience of being mistaken for a couple by their coworkers for years to bond over

I have be completely honest. I was all on board the ship. During the very beginning of the series. Myne and Lutz have a strong bond, they always tend to help one another. Like how Lutz didn't have any food for the winter because his older brothers were taking it, so she assisted him. Also Lutz help Myne with all her inventions to create substitute books. Including paper.
"She's a full grown adult" ever seen a teacher and a 12 year old college student sit at a cafe locked eyes and holding hands? The first time you see it, your .minf goes, okay, this is not whay i think it is. But mind you, it is still weird after seeing them 10 years later. Really the reason i dropped the series.
I actually thought she would end up with lutz. Well mostly bc I love lutz(not romantically), his adorable...you know how you have some characters that you like alot but not in romantic way bur like you want to protect them and squeeze them to death bc how cute they are...but yea that's why I shipped them and I was sure he had some romantic feelings for her but nvm...I just want my fav characters to be happy in the end that's all what's matters
