One important thing is that non verbal communication is a lot dependent on cultural aspects. One example for a book called something like "Gestures for a Globalized World" is what happened to Edward Deming in his first class of statistical analysis of product quality in Japan: Deming taught in school sports courts and in his first class he had a hard time because the Japanese would lean back and slightly close their eyes - in the west, a posture that communicates lack of interest. These gestures don't necessarily mean honesty or dishonesty - just comfortability. You may be uncomfortable with a question, but still give an honest answer, and vice versa...
I like that he didn't go into what was being said, just what they typically do and don't do. Here's something you can use to make up your own mind (though you've probably already done so).
I never look at people long enough so I know nothing about body language, but I was always listening. Through listening I learned to figure out what a person is feeling through the slight tone of their voice. I can't explain what they're feeling I just feel that feeling after hearing the tone in their voice. It's really upsetting when you've been listening and not talking and you gain this ability. You eventually find out that your friends don't actually care about you. They just need and want you to listen to them when no one else will. It's a constant torture when you hear the way people talk about other people. It's all been heart breaking. I have no hope in people's ability to care. It's because they did not care that people got so bad after all. Any longer I might go mad if I am not already.
Masquerade Heart >>>>>. Trump cares a lot about the future of Americans.... not in this chaos for the money or salary, which he donates. Patriots care about the future of our country. WHO OR WHAT DO YOU CARE ABOUT? If you are truly busy caring about others (not just listening to sob stories- actually physically helping others cope with a dire problem, or helping a slow student to get good grades by tutoring him) you wouldn’t even notice that others don’t truly appreciate your fine qualities and/or achievements, etc. Stay busy, bc the Lord commands us to be our ‘brother’s keeper’, and then HE WILL BE THE ONE TO SEE YOU THRU YOUR HARD TIMES WHEN THE SUPPOSED FRIENDS HAVE TAKEN A POWDER AND FLOWN THE COOP. Been there, felt that, and while the thought can be depressing, I would much rather be the person doling out helps, than the person asking for an audience or a handout. This year my ‘best friend forever’ BFF, let me know we would be parting ways because I told her what I thought of Bill Gates and his vaccines, COVID, etc. She works for big pharma and got her panties in a bunch! Oh well, typical hypocritical move, cutting off your nose to spite your face. No doubt when she needs something badly enough, like prayer for husband’s throat again, she’ll come running back for support, just like a kid. But she is 63 yrs old and a grandmother, so no longer a kid. Also, hypocrites lie a lot, have you noticed? Must be almost synonymous....
He is obviously for Biden, he only highlights good things about Biden and negative about Trump. And he never brings up Biden sniffing kids that is weird.
Whether its fake or not, the way Biden quiets his voice when he's talking about important topics and looks right at the camera or audience makes it feel like he's speaking directly to me. It's extremely likely that its something he has picked up, or been taught for sure. He's been in politics for a very long time. But it's still a good move.
Lowering the volume in the voice is also a good way to get people to hear what’s being said because they have to make a concerted effort to HEAR it, not just listen to it.
Another subliminal suggestion, is where someone sits when being interviewed, is lecturing, or doing a podcast. Such as, behind them could be displayed, their prolific library, awards, trophies, figurines, accreditations, or published works. Has anyone else noticed the same?

One of the most compelling facts on this topic, to me, is that people who have strokes in their speech centres of the brain invariably lose all hand gestures. In fact, Drs and therapists know that healing is happening in the brain when hand gestures start to return.
I'd love for Joe to talk to my Career counselors in College because each one has told me not to put my hands in the frame of a zoom call when interviewing for positions since it's distracting, but if so much of our communication is non-verbal I feel like part of me is lost in that process. Would be interested to hear his take on it. I mean, obviously communicating non-verbally on a job interview =/= communicating to millions, but I'd still be interested to hear his opinions on the matter.
I’m not Joe but I would love to take a stab at this question. Hands can be distracting if you aren’t deliberate with the motions, so it should be fine if all the gestures you pick are tasteful and meaningful. If you aren’t very aware of what they do, they can be a liability since it gives the interviewer more information than you may want to give them.
i’ve watched a number of these people talk now about gestures and expressions. this guy is the only one i really believe knows what is talking about. he’s also very calming to listen to.
He's probably the sort of person who had seen and worked with many different administrations and knows there are pros and cons to both parties.
He’s not saying anything we don’t know. If you ever have a speech you rehearse just like acting. A speech is a monologue

One of the most compelling facts on this topic, to me, is that people who have strokes in their speech centres of the brain invariably lose all hand gestures. In fact, Drs and therapists know that healing is happening in the brain when hand gestures start to return.
Does this body language expert realize he is constantly talking with his hands?
I have family members that talk alot with thier hands. You gotta watch out for them when they get excited, lol. Like keep a distance watch out! 🤣
So true....
It’s called demonstrating.
This dudes wingspan is like 18 ft 💀
i’ve watched a number of these people talk now about gestures and expressions. this guy is the only one i really believe knows what is talking about. he’s also very calming to listen to.

Politicians are lawyers, who most likely were on their debate teams in school. I was on the Forensic Team in high school and college. My competition category was Limited prep. I gave Impromptu and extemporaneous speeches. Debate is the anchor to that category. I helped them prepare and was present during, if I was not competing at the same time. We learn to use body language and gestures and to stop tiks and tells. I encourage people to practice public speaking. We do it all the time, just a smaller audience.
