Man, I remember when this video came out and I lost my mind. I was so happy to get that nostalgia hit from my favorite youtuber. That was 6 years ago… feels like it’s been a lifetime, and yet each time I return I can go back for just a bit. Thank you Dan for being such a massive part of my childhood, and thank you Zoombinis for teaching me the importance of proper pizza toppings.

Hell yeah! I don't remember much about it though. Something about a future with no maths, and you had to travel through the solar system to restore the maths or something.

Games like this and Math Blaster makes me wish Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes had better puzzles.

Oh god, I remember playing Zoombinis in my elementary school computer lab way back when. Computer lab days were always the best of the week! Very nostalgic.

So its taken me 6 years to learn this but apprantly there was 2 other zoombinis games. looking at them they wasnt as good as this one but i cant beleave i played this in school soo much and never knew it was part of a trillogy

I didn't have this in school, but my grandparents had it. Brings back soooo many memories. I absolutely love this game, but I also remember it feeling a little dark.

This game brings out so much nostalgia in me, I spent so many hours playing this game on my PC at home when I was young. I always got really attached to my Zoombinis and it made me sad when I lost them. :(

No warm and fuzzy nostalgia for me.
I never played this at school, but I played it a shit ton with my friend on his computer. We loved the crap out of it. I tried to use a virtual machine to play it again last year but couldn't get it to work. This remake saved me.

Used to play this in year 2 (Australia) on our classrooms Windows 95 machine back in 1996. I wasn't the best at it but I remember loving the frog challenge the most.
I had this great dream last night that dan brought back the hello procrastinators and the "all in game music" jokes back.
The 4th difficulty for this game is killer! Holy shit, expect each puzzle to take at least an hour (I'd love to see a full playthrough though)
this brought me back to 3rd grade computer class, where I played this game to death, often dozens of the little guy's deaths to be precise.
I have many memories of this from kindergarten in 04'-05'. I fondly remember the tangerine iMac G3 in the Mac lab that I was assigned to. Those were the days...
I am SO HAPPY they did a remake of this game! I remember in my aftercare program at my Montessori school, I would either play this game, Backyard Baseball, SimAnt, or Oregon Trail. This is so much nostalgia I can barely breathe (in the good way).
I played Zoombinis: Island Odyssey when I was really young when I found it in the local library and I loved every bit of it!
The only thing I remember about zoombinis is seeing in on the "Learning Launcher 2002" along with Starflyers, Carmen Sandiego, and Reader Rabbit.
I spent the entirity of this video becoming more and more convinced that I played this game when I was like 7 years old but I can't for the life of me remember where and I don't remember playing it but I remember all of the puzzles and visuals. This is like getting cured of amnesia, terrifying.
This brings back memories I remember playing a Zoombinis Mountain rescue as a kid
we only got to lay this game for one lesson ever and it is still to this day my favorite.
The educational game that I loved was Cluefinders: the Mystery of Mathra.

In case anyone else is wondering about the other difficulties of Titanic Tattooed Toads and Crystal Cavern:
- The higher difficulties of Titanic Tattooed Toads don't have 8 complete paths. Instead, you get a magic wand that can swap a finite number of pairs of lily pads, and you have to identify 8 almost-complete paths and complete them before you run out of swaps (although once you've used a path twice, you can destroy it in order to make another path).
- As nerdcubed said, the Not So Easy difficulty of Crystal Cavern has no filters, so you have to find a Zoombini and a panel that match exactly. On the higher difficulties, the Zoombini and the panel are already in place, and you have to find a set of filters you can use to make them the same. IIRC, the difference between Very Hard and Very, Very Hard is that the latter includes filters that cycle through all five versions of a trait until you place them; once you do, they only show one version, but it flashes to indicate that which version is shown depends on how many other filters are in front of them.

omg I remember playing thing as a kid every lunch break, it was always at the very back of the classroom and I used to use the old typewriter that was next to the computer to write down all the combinations and stuff.
I had some versions of these that I adored but it wasn't as old as the one in your story. All I remember is that I loved it and there was a puzzle involving the gene pool
We sat around the smartboard and took turns making our own Zoombinis with out Milk. Man the memories

the game I remember from school computers were: an rpg where you were a badger and how you moved was to type in the degree you wanted to turn and distance. It was awful but relatively fun. If we were lucky there'd be a computer with lemmings on it and we could play on the sly.
I wasn't even looking at the screen and I heard the song and thought "this is going to be good"
