I absolutely loved when Corazon opened a chest that Prudence said was treasure, but was actually full of spiders; then proceeded to run off stage yelling about spiders being EVERYWHERE.

My favourite Oxventure moment was Egbert talking to the sun-cow god and everyone talking about how he has gone crazy and needs to be killed. "What a great honour it is to see a Dragonborn die!" - Dob

Johnny is the kind of DM every party can just wish for. Don´t get me wrong, I love my DM but this guy is special.
He's an inspiration, truly. The way this game is run has expanded both my DMing and my PCing horizons.

@@krampusklaws2238 He still has origin his in space. Born in the twenty-third nebule on the planet Vhoorl. I know he lives under the sea but that doesn't change the fact he came from space. She would still worship a being who came from the sky. Therefore a sky squid as mentioned in my first comment.

OX - I want to trade my own lake-gold for an Oxventure T-shirt with 'Seize the means .. put Capitalism in the lake!' written on it. Maybe to support Mind charity? (being doubly presumptuous here, but hey, that's life in the command economy, friends).

@@pretergeek The meat grinder was an accident and Merilwen was horrified by it. The octopus form she chose on purpose and it only horrified other people. Did you see Prudence checking how much Merilwen was enjoying watching Vex suffer in Peak Performance? It's not the horror. It's the love of horror.

Little did Johnny know that Luke would eventually become a GM himself, so he did, in fact, seize the means of quest production...
I'm only now noticing the harrowed look in Johnny's eyes when he (presumably) realises what "Bear Down" Protocol is.
Johnny, in his head: "They wanna throw a cat at a man, how cute.
Aww, I'll let them have that one, what's the worst that could happen?"
Merilwen: "I change into a bear"
The consequences! They're here!! DX
Myself, I thought that was a look of joy at finding people who think in the same kind of twisted ways that he does 😻

The gun turret bit from Corazon and the entire Dob being impaled and seeing Egbert's bovine god were worth being here too imo lol
Two of those are awfully recent, though. Maybe they didn't have the footage in time. Or maybe this list is the viewers' choice and we didn't have that adventure yet, so no one voted for it.
Personally I enjoyed Egbert's proclamation "its behind his face!" better than "what's chess?" Egbert's entire story that oxventure is incredible though.
There's definitely some irony in the fact that "It's behind his face" is a complete misunderstanding of the way the game is played, but is in a literal way the answer to the previous riddle, and their dilemma lol

I've always loved Prudence telling Corazón that the spider chest is full of treasure. Also just any time Corazón gets out of his chair is brilliant
Straight up cried when Dob said, "Like me, but better." The phrase, "I'm just determining tactical weaknesses. Yeah, I found one." The Coraswans. Oh goodness, the Coraswans. "You should be ashamed of yourselves. Grow up! Said the man running a game of Dungeons and Dragons." Johnny just kills me.

I forgot about the look sheer glee on Jane's face during the orphan mortar reveal. That just makes the scene so much better
one of the times I had to stop the media player due to my own laughter was "Wait a minute, I DO WANT A CAT!!" - "Oh no! The Consequences! They're here!"
I love the way Mike says "Mortar" because I just get the feeling he already knows where the whole thing is headed, before he even finishes his sentence.
Egbert and Dob have such chaotic good™️ energy and it makes me so happy
Egbert being a well-intentioned dumbass is why he's my favourite. Mike plays him so well, haha.

Johnny's involuntary repulsion at the mention of the awesome squeezy powers of the the Octo-Wen gives me life and joy.

Funny thing - in the maritime industry, we tend to refer to them as boats regardless of size. Or “vessels”, if we want to be formal. So Corazon is in the clear!
My all time favorite Oxventure moment has to be lawyer Corazon. Johnny shouting "What's a lab?!" had me in stitches.
I missed the part where Egbert throws his bombs in the ocean and all the whales explode.
I have so much to be thankful to this show for: this was the show that introduced me to D&D, its the show that made me want to be a DM and a couple of years on I'm several months into running a campaign with one of the best sets of friends i've ever made, all because of a stupid spicy flavoured rat-boy and some cursed pirates
I am very similar. I ended up in the same manner, having run my first ever campaign a few months back and it all started with four idiots kidnapping the son of a wealthy noble in the form of a spicy rat.

Watching these got me interested in DND myself.
I look forward to more d&d always a good time. I am trying to get a group started myself but there is no one who does it in my area...
I plan to buy the books myself train myself and then start a group myself. Just some money needed for the books so it will still need half a year. Until then it's waiting for OX to give me my dose of d&d
Most of my favoured moments where there, i would just add the Chair Corazon and his sea journey with Catwen to it.

I had forgotten that Johnny foretold of an upcoming battle against the Coraswans! Can Corazon really fight something with his own face? I know the others won't have an issue with it, not according to my favourite moment of the year...

The Oxventurers were also very surprised to find out they'd packed in so many adventures in one year.
Didn't notice the first time around, but when Andy was "rowing over in the skiff, which is a boat" do we think he's intentionally rotating the oars the wrong way? Full commitment to the bit?
You know the D&D videos are amazing when the highlight reel is nearly an hour long
I always imagine Prudence's Spider Climb to be just like The Fear from MGS3, terrifyingly dislocating all her limb joints with wet cracking noises and then moving with an inhuman scuttling. It's horrifying yet compelling to imagine.
That's pretty much what popped into my head when she first described it, too. Sort of like that Samara girl from "The Ring" crawling out of the well. =)
I think my favourite bit of the lads adventure was just the pure genius of the drinking games/zone of truth.
I just love how this video ALSO highlights how many times Johnny takes a deep drink of whatever he has.

I'd like to think that, similarly to Elli from The Last of Us, Dob developed some kind of mutation from the rabies that rendered him immune to its fatal effects and he can just go on living like any one else.
It might have slightly affected his brain, though. The guy's got a few loose screws lol

You know what I realized, I absolutely love how Luke straight up announces his dice rolls, with particular vigor when he rolls a one.
Really wanted the mini adventure of Chairazon and Catilwin from "Bad Chair Day" on this list. I love the fact that infiltraiting an outbound ship was not only pointless, but also the fact that a pirate dressed as a chair caused the ship to crash after being thrown overboard.
I hope we get to see a return from our dear friend Christopher Engelbert XVII

The look of anticipation and glee when Jane realises what happened to the orphans is somehow disturbing and heart warming in equal measure
My favorite is in Peak Performance when Dob rolled a critical one and Johnny said that Egbert fell into the spike trap.
It's been really nice to see you all become more confident in your characters :)

I could watch Corazon fail Wisdom Checks for hours. He's just hamming it up and it is *glorious*.

The best part is always Merilwen (and Elen:)) reaction to whatever is happening ... also her animal form puppets (octo-, bear- and cat-wen), she is so good at it :D
My favourite line and what got me interested will always be when Dob shoots his thunder wave at the giant beetle with Ellen on it but she doesn't get hit, and then comes back with 'I'm a Wood Elf, I don't conduct electricity.'
"What's chess?"
Even with hours of practice, I don't think that line could have been delivered or timed any better than Mike did it. Fully deserved the round of applause for that one. In a video full of absolute bangers, that's definitely one of my favourites.
Still can’t deal with “kingdom of Geth.” Mass Effect, anyone?

Hey guys, I know you get a lot of comments, and I'm not sure how many you actually get a chance to see, but I'm not sure where would be appropriate to message you.
I adore your DnD stuff and it's what got me introduced to you all and your respective channels.
I have noticed though, that the subtitles on these videos are auto-generated. I don't pretend to know the first thing about adding subs to videos but do realise that adding your own probably takes a lot of time. So, I was wondering, if someone were to write these out for you, would that be something you could use to add them easily?
Actually, adding captions to YT videos is really easy, there's a bunch of videos (on youtube) about it - I can most suggest Jessica Kellgren-Fozard's 4 part series about it. I would love to see some captions on here, I have a hard time understanding sometimes when they start voice acting, or "whispering" (Then there's the Quiet Riot part when they're all whispering and I can't hear a damn word of it. Basically ruins the entire episode!)

I live in a house with a small child, so watch 90% of TH-cam videos with subtitles on. Who knows when a noisy toy or tantrum is going to happen, haha.
Even if it's simple, they are busy people, so I can completely understand why they don't add them. Which is why I'd be more than happy to help by writing stuff out for them. I'm going to be watching their stuff anyways, it's not going to hurt to have a word document open so I can type it out as I hear it :P
Johnny's squint and quiet confused "what?" after Dob says "accuracy isn't going to be an issue" and he realizes the Bear Down protocol is more than just throwing a cat at someone gets me every time.
I started drawing Oxventure fanart in 2019, it's a really fun thing to do.
44:37 - 45:55 Johnny's expression where he goes oh dear god, derailed again! And then later the dumbfounded look when they ask him for the name of the guard and saying "he's probably got a surprising and interesting name"....when actually he hadn't expected all this and didn't think up the name for the guard....

To anyone who's as addicted to these as I am, watch at the very least the first segment 6 times and watch the faces of each individual oxventurer (yes, I'm including our tireless DM) as they react to what unfolds. There's some truly marvelous stuff in there. Andy being just so upset at Luke setting up a corporate infrastructure, Jane being just so happy about all the blood, Mike not really knowing what's going on... Love these guys and their characters to death! What a great year!

One of my favourites is when they find a tresure box and (in infernal) it reads something like "do not open, trap inside", and Prudence - to Corazón - says "open me, treasure inside"! 😋
Last December and January I binge watched your D&D videos and they got me into D&D. That January I joined a campaign and since have become a DM of my own party too. Thanks for getting me into it, and here's to more radical Oxventures in the future!

The whole orphan fiasco was amazing, you couldnt script it any better. Every line was delivered brilliantly as well, especially Mike's "What about the moorrtaarrr?"
