    Hello, I have found that if you spray your wood with triple thick before masking it helps with the bleed. Also, if you give it a spray with triple coat after you and grave before you spray the paint. It helps with the bleed. Hope this helps you. You sure have helped me. Thank you

    Good morning Gord
    Hmmmm I am like you I like the natural look but will admit I did like the way the black made it really stand out..
    I bet if you could get other colors and depending on what the design of the engraving other colors would really look great..
    ok I know you will chuckle but what if it could be done in more then one color..
    Hahahahah
    I know I do dream big sometimes.. 😊
    Thanks for sharing.

      @@LaserNUG If you have problems bleeding on softwood, give it a light coat of shellac before spraying on the Marsh. Shellac is fast-drying and works well to stop bleeding.👍

    Seal the birch first then mask engrave paint and reseal that way you don't get the bleed.

    Can you use a matte varnish coat on it before you apply the black to stop the bleed?

    • @LaserNUG

      Morning Jason. I think so - a few others suggested to do that too. I will give it a try soon. Thanks!

    OK, I don't get it. What is the difference between this and just using black spray paint?

    • @LaserNUG
      @LaserNUG  ปีที่แล้ว

      This one, I think is cut differently - it appears to go on less wet than regular spray paint - no runs or drips and does not bleed into the wood like normal spray paint will. It also dries really fast - consistent coverage easily. Just my thoughts. Thanks for watching!

    I would be curious to see the comparison with the laser dark and regular spray paint. We noticed if you engrave slightly deeper there is less bleed. Happy lasering.
    By the way, where did the name Laser Nug originate?

      Morning. Laser Engraving with Matt ( YT channel) did a good comparison which helped me decide to test it out. An old expression from when I was young - new useless guy - LOL. meant in good spirit to refer to a new guy learning new skills. Like me. Cheers and thanks!

    Good morning G.P. I was just wondering. When you got your lazer machine you said it was for you and your daughter. Has your daughter done anything with it? I don’t know if you have a harbor freight in Canada but they have a lot of little shop parts and pieces like your painters points and different things like that for pretty cheap. Thanks for the video have a great day

    • @LaserNUG
      @LaserNUG  ปีที่แล้ว

      Morning Ronald. We don't have Harbour Freight here but have Princess Auto which often has a ton of stuff. My daughter that I referred to is the one that passed away last year. We had been looking into getting a laser to work together before, and I finally decided before xmas to go ahead and get it. Thanks for tuning in!

      I’m sorry G.P. I didn’t know. It must have been when I was away with my wife till she passed. I missed a lot last year I shut myself in and didn’t look at anything much I lost interest in everything for a while. I’m sorry friend and I will be praying and thinking of you as well

      Good morning - good question - I haven't tried it myself but watched a couple of YT's on it and the Laserdark provides a smooth consistent finish - no stippling or drips, and less bleeding on bare wood. Thanks!.

  • @kensly7125

    why is it different than spray paint?

    • @LaserNUG
      @LaserNUG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Morning Ken. seems to go on mush drier than spray paint - no stipple or run, less bleed and dries quick and consistently. Laser Engraving with Matt ( YT channel) did a good comparison between both.

      Morning - thanks Michael. I am not well versed in it but it appears to be cut with something - it doesn't run or drip and easily covers evenly and dries quick. Thanks for watching and have a great week!
