Maybe you meant Gothic? "Medieval" covers a period more than a thousand year and until the last century or two, the paintings look nothing like the art in Fear and Hunger. Even then it's only a passing resemblance, maybe the dull colors? It's unmistakeable that the biggest influence for the artist is Yoshitaka Amano, not medieval art.

Fear and Hunger is a SEVERELY underrated game even outside it's horror tone. The game mechanics are really creative and you get better with each playthrough. It's a breath of fresh air for RPGs and a lot of game designers can learn from it.
Moron. It’s a generic byproduct of the RPG maker software. You must be new to the turn based top down rpg genre because there are hundreds of games with precisely the same mechanics. It’s almost like fear and hunger came from a cookie cutter that anyone could use to make an rpg of their own

"The will to remain strong, courageous and moral in the face of relentless suffering." I think this is EXACTLY what Sylvian expects of humans her favorite creation. And we are stuck in a vicious cycle of the old gods offering salvation (to pick us back up so we can try again) then fading away (pushing us out of the nest) and when we inevitably screw up again the cycle repeats because they are good parents. For those like the fellowship who think they figure it out only to fail in the end simply become one with the void - which is why there are so many new gods in the hall just stuck there - they failed the final test. Logic was a step in the right direction.
I'd love to see you explain the correlation with Finnish culture, history and beliefs and why that results in some of the most twisted themes (not in a negative way) in indie gaming all coming from one country.
I'm so glad people are getting into Fear and Hunger now. It makes me so happy that there are videos like this being made- I watched everything I could about it when it came out, and there was never enough for me and it didn't feel like enough people knew how awesome it was. I saw this video appear in my feed and got so happy. 🎉
I watched Worm Girl is videos about Fear & Hunger 1 and 2 and i love them, the game and the world it depicts it's brutal, but the fact that the characters can overcome the brutality makes it incredibly hopeful to me. I would love to see your take on the sequel and other aspects of this game series.
Definitely make some more Fear and Hunger stuff! One thing about Enki that wasn't mentioned is that Enki is a reference to Sumerian mythology. Enki was the Sumerian god of water, a companion of Gilgamesh during the Epic, and created humanity in Sumerian mythology. Enki wanted humans to be made out of clay and blood using earth from the body of the goddess Ninhursag-ki and blood from him (or his son Marduk, depending on the legend). He was also known as the "master of all crafts." I found it really fitting in Fear & Hunger that Enki was named as he was.

This was a treat to watch, thank you! I would LOVE to see you make another funger video! This makes me so happy to see this aspect of the game being talked about and it's just one of many other reasons why this series is so cool!

I will say I don't go out of my way to look for unpleasant scenarios or gore, but when a game has an atmosphere that is so unrelenting, honest and complete, thats the thing that makes me want to play it. It's the same thing that made me love Silent Hill 2, Shadow of The Colossus and the Soulsborne games. Because the Funger series seldom pulls it punches and delivers such a potent feeling of dread, thats a thing I appreciate.
