You can use Matic-S, but the Valvoline max life full synthetic has better mechanical and chemical material properties and is 1/3 the cost. If your truck is still under warranty, use the Nissan Matic-S, if not, use the Valvoline Synthetic Max Life. Nissan could technically void your warranty on the drivetrain if you use non Nissan OEM fluid.
@@ProfessionalPepper Its not under warranty anymore Its a 2015 pro 4x it has 49k miles on it now. I was just wondering what would be better for me to use when I do my fluid changes. Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't have any problems using something else or stick with Nissan fluid. Thanks again 👊
Use the Valvoline Max Fully synthetic ATF. It is better than Matic-S fluid and costs less. If you research it it shows the Valvoline ATF as beating out Matic-J and Matic-S in tests.
The maintenance manual calls for Nissan matic-j or matic-s. Matic-s is the synthetic version of matic-j. Valvoline Max Life Synthetic ATF exceeds the operating parameters of matic-s. It has a higher smoke point. It has a lower minimum operating temp and higher maximum operating temp, all while maintaining optimal viscosity for the vehicle's transfer case requirements. It is also less expensive than Matic-s.
Great video. You should use a 11026-4N200 washer on that drain plug and clean the magnet before putting the plug in. Other than that, awesome!
Just checked one and found ATF in it. Wondered if that is ok. Thanks for sharing this.
Hey was there a crush washer on your front diff fill plug?
Awesome vids by the way
Same as differential? I just changed mine 5 months ago in my 2011 Nissan Frontier V6.
Would it be better to put Nissan matic s in the transfer case and transmission? Thanks and great video 👍

@@charliedc2A You're Good to Go using the Valvoline Max Fully Synthetic. Good luck. 👊✌

@@ProfessionalPepper Thanks for reply.
I thought you needed matic D for transfer case? Also, no crush washers?

My manual calls for Matic D,but MaxLife is surpasses it Matic S is made by BP,so it’s the Castroll with Nissan logo on it.
I use alarge, clean liquid hand soap bottle and a little hose attachment to fill it up it's alot easier.
Great tip!
Watching you break the plug near that sharp exhaust heat shield without gloves made me nervous.
Like bangin' hoes without a rubber, better feeling, greater risk.
@@NissanDudeAZ and without lube either!
@@NissanDudeAZ LOL that's good...
What happens if you use 75/90 synthetic in your transfer case on an 07 XTerra with 6 speed manual transmission?
you drain it out and put in the correct fluid, probably not that big a deal
How much fluid does it takes?
2 litre on the dot
Is that the same for 07 murano, what fluid does this Nissan use? Thanks.
I have a link in the video description.
murano doesn't have a transfer case
What size Allen wrench???
10mm Allen Wrench
