I have a 2004 titan. I was wondering what all the switches were that were unplugged. My 4x4 light will flash randomly when in 2 wheel drive. A bump and sometimes turning the wheel will sometimes make it flash. I am thinking it is a sensor, I just don't know which one.
what nissan is this and what year
is it possible to remove the transfer case with out removing the transmission? how would you separate it from the transmission while still mounted to the truck?
i dont know but im gunna give it a try tomorrow.
Looks to me the t-case could have been pulled without pulling the entire transmission... was there a reason for pulling the entire trans vs just pulling the t-case(?)
The transmission was bad. This video showed the transfer case portion for those needing to know
I have a 2017 Nissan Armada. Is this the same Transfer Case. Mine is bad. Looks pretty straight forward.
Is there any stamping on the transmission that indicates what kind of transfer case it is? Model number or anything? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Lane Amaimo there should be a part number somewhere, however this was on my friends truck, so I don’t have it available to look. I suppose you could call the dealership and tell them the year of your truck and they could give you a part number
Great video for removing driveshaft and electrical connectors. But I doubt the transmission + transfer case are held in place solely by the driveshaft and electrical connectors. Why is there no video whatsoever for the removal of the transmission + transfer case (aka the title of this video)? Was that part censored?
Did you watch the video all the way? At 9:00 in it shows the bolts for the transfer case where it’s connected to the transmission. There is also a link in the video description for the entire transmission removal which also covers the case th-cam.com/video/KuZER2tKj9Y/w-d-xo.html
What year trauck?
Should i get a 1/2 inch impact for this or will sockets work better for this job? Idk if theres room to even get an impact in there, but there is one on sale so I need an excuse to buy it lol
I would just use hand tools for that
I have an Infiniti 2013 jx35 I’m guessing similar. Do you think between my backyard mechanic and I we can tackle a project like this
From what I see in pictures for the JX35 it appears to be up in there a lot tighter more like a front wheel drive layout, so you may need to lift the engine to access it. I’m thinking it will be a lot more difficult than on the truck shown
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage thanks.. I'm devastated because I just bought the vehicle I was taking a risk I know one owner around $200,000 miles I bought it for $4,300 and it cost like $5,000 to fix at the dealership so I'm trying to find the best solution the cheapest solution I don't know if I can trust a transmission shop said that they can take it apart and fix it piece by piece or quarter by quarter do you think that's a good option or should I get a junkyard or remanufactured at this point
Why not try an impact driver.
Free's up most nuts..
I have one, but with aluminum casings it'ts best not to use an impact when possible. If anything I break them loose and then use the impact for speed.
Does anyone know the bolt torque to re-install the transfer case back to the transmission? I can't find it anywhere and the repair manual is in the mail. Thanks,
Nice and tight
Hi, i have a nissan pathfinder r51 2.5 dci , the problem is my 4Hi is not engaging , 2WD works, Auto works , 4Lo works , have any idea what could be the problem , i have no errors on the car , could it be an electrical problem ?
could be the switch
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage the light is showing that the 4Hi is working , but it's not
Identify the car year make model etc.
How to take apart transfer case?
No, transfer case removal as the title says. It’s removing the transfer case from the transmission.
Mechanic shop will charge 15 hours labor. Its not easy to change I am a Marine I couldn't change this by myself
It’s definitely a 2 person job and the transmission Jack made all the difference
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage can I remove only the transfer case ? Is there any 2nd part of this video ?
It's in the car then next it's out. I wanted a video to show how to remove transfer case in the car
I have the full series for the transmission removal that is part of it, but it all came down together. You should be able to remove just the transfer case but you can skip a lot of it for just the transfer case if you unbolt it as shown in the video th-cam.com/video/KuZER2tKj9Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fmU-2Yx4RDoh2wUr
How much does this service normally cost?
Local AAMCO verbally quoted $3500 to replace the Tcase on my 2016 Rogue and (btw) would not give a written quote.
great video.
Can you please add some text to the video telling us what year and make of vehicle this is? I beg you I beg you I beg you I beg you I beg you I beg you
I left it out because it’s very similar. This is a 2007 nissan frontier, but the same drivetrain as the pathfinder etc
Nissan. Whatttttt
