Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, Pulp Fiction follows the mission of two hitmen, Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) and Vincent Vega (John Travolta), out to retrieve a suitcase stolen from their employer, mob boss Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames). Wallace has also asked Vincent to take his wife Mia (Uma Thurman) out a few days later when Wallace himself will be out of town. Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) is an aging boxer who is paid by Wallace to lose his next fight. Honey Bunny and Pumpkin (Tim Roth) are a couple of young lovers and small-time thieves who decide they need a change of venue. The lives of these seemingly unrelated people are woven together in a wildly entertaining and exhilarating motion picture adventure that both thrills and amuses.

Pulp Fiction is an example of a movie where you simply cannot delete the cursing. It is such an integral part of the film that to delete the cursing actually neuters the movie and makes it something far less than it was.

Yep, I was going to say the same thing. It's weird how hung up on swearing the US is, but people being blown away is a-OK. I don't think I've encountered it anywhere else. On Aussie and UK TV I can't remember the last time I heard a bleep. It does neuter the scene, it's not like anyone can't fill in the bleeps.

Samuel plays the same role, same verbal assaults and same tone and same attitude. His role is good for this but no different than DJango, Shaft, triple X and Unbreakable. Same character, mash all of them together and you would think its the same film.

One thing I like about this scene is that when Jules tells the guy to tell Yolanda to be cool, Jules demands that he addresses her as "bitch". Despite having a gun to his neck, the guy still addresses Yolanda as "Hunny Bunny" instead while telling her to be cool. The guy may be a criminal, but his love for Yolanda is genuine.

I love that jules is still just kind of reassuring the chick that everything's gonna be fine. He knows she's in deep and he doesn't want anyone to get hurt. He even notices Vincent far before we as the viewer even do.
He's also punking Ringo in the same breath. He has more control over his woman then he does.

Love how Jules peeped Vincent gettin da drop on em without even lookin....Such subtle nuances convey so much about those two as a tactical unit(partners n crime that done been in plenty of combat situations together as a team). Again, Tarantino a genius when it come to details like that...

Dialogue, Plot, no, plots, acting and sound.track, perfection. The most memorable film ever. It´s a masterpiece. The opening scene is brilliant.
This move is nothing but a series of wonderful, classic scenes of amazing dialogue. There’s nothing quite like it. It’s utterly timeless.
Jackson was the best part of a really good movie. "It's the one that says bad mfer." One of many great lines he had.

I love how Jules notices Vincent before anybody else. He’s a step ahead perfectly calculating the situation and reading the room before anybody. Just another small thing which shows how smart Jules really is.
If Jules was with Vincent later on in the timeline, Vincent wouldn't have died to Butch. Jules held together that team.

Pulp Fiction is such a masterpiece about redemption where the bad guy becomes the hero. In a time with antiheroes and villains, we see a piece where the villain, Samuel L. Jackson, changes his ways and saves the lives of people in that cafe. Combined with the comedic element of Samuel L. Jackson and Hunny Bunny scarred crapless because there is someone more of a badass than she is, if you take out the disturbing dungeon scene with Marsellus, Pulp Fiction is a pure gem. Quentin Tarantino's second best film behind Django Unchained.
On TH-cam, you can watch a compilation of head shots, but can't hear the word "shit".
This world is marvelous.
You can absolutely hear any kind of curse word you can imagine on YT. This particular channel made its own decision.

TH-cam has a lot of rather stupid rules that they enforce in order to demonetize channels and swearing is one of them. It's dumb because although they'll still show the ads YT takes 100% of the revenue.

Jackie Brown and Once Upon the time are very close tho.
One of my favorites is Inglorious Bastards, simply because of how much tension is present throughout that film.
It genuinely made me feel anxious watching throughout the whole film. It reaches in and touches your nervous system it's crazy.
Unlike a panic attack, you know what you are getting yourself into. It's a controlled anxiety. Extremely entertaining.
Sad to say I never saw the movie when it came out in theaters. but over the years I've seen clips of some of the best scenes. I had no idea what an instant cult classic it had become back then. I couldn't afford to go to the movies too often in the mid 90s.
Go watch the whole thing. It's worth it.

Tim Roth is such an underrated actor, feels like Tarantino's only one of the few directors who understands his true potential

One of many good scenes in probably my favourite Quentin Tarantino film. Great characters, great acting from a great cast, great direction, great dialogue (quite a few memorable quotes) and a great soundtrack (which I own on CD). It's just great.

Fun fact. The actor who plays the restaurant manager is listed as "coffee shop" in the credits because his dialogue got cut off when the robbers first come in
An incredible scene. Amazing dialogue. If we zoom into this world for a second, we see a stark difference between Jules and Ringo straight away. When Ringo counts to three he's hesitating to shoot. Showing he's reluctant to step over that line. He's show but not a killer. Whereas Jules has proven to us that he is a stone cold killer. And the fact he decides not to kill Ringo, gives him all the control in this scene. He knows he can do what Ringo and Yolanda can't do but he chooses not to. Tarantino's writing, carried over from what we already know about this character, emohasises where the scene could take us. But it goes the other way. And this makes us think. We know what fate has in store for Vincent but that question mark looks over Jules forever

Considering they never explain what's in the case and people assumed it was the bosses heart. But based on the guy's reaction "It's beautiful" It must be gold.
I think the theory is that it's the boss' soul, from the bandage on his neck and how transfixing it is.
This was THE scene when the term "transitional period" stuck with me and stayed forever.

No matter how much Tarantino refined his craft, he was still never able to top this one. It has a je ne sais quoi quality about it.

With that little snub-nosed pistol, no way a hopped-up Hunny Bunny could hit the side of a barn from 15 feet, let alone a partially exposed Jules. That's a close-up weapon.
If you're good you can be accurate with with snub at a minimum of 30-45 ft

Well crafted dialogue. Intelligently acted by these master actors. Great direction . This one scene alone is worthwhile compared to today's " pretentious thrillers".
