I’ve probably commented a bunch on the videos in the past. I don’t know if you or your dad will ever read this. I just wanted to let you know that these videos are therapeutic for me. Seeing the bond between father and son is amazing. Although my father and I haven’t talked in ages, seeing that bond that is currently missing from my life helps me reflect on happier times with my dad. I hope you guys have the best day/week ever and although you may not need some random comment wishing you the best, here I am wishing you and your father the best.
I feel the same way too. I don't have a good dad nor any kind of family bond. But watching these videos make me feel like it exists and I can feel and experience it. Like goodness exist.
Having grown up on Chinese food and helping my mom cook it’s really cool to see your dads little tricks and techniques for preparing each ingredient, everyone knows prep is the hardest part of Chinese cooking
Thank you, Jet for doing this with your Dad. For one thing, father-son-together stuff, in general, is very nice. Additionally, Susur inspires me to do the best I can in the kitchen. I am the primary food preparer in my house. Please do as many of these as your father will endure. On top of the list of things that I love to hear is, "wow that smells and tastes real good!" when my family is having dinner. Again, thank you and tell your dad thank you for me. 👍
I swear to god, these videos helped me improve my cooking skills. When i try to replicate recipies from other videos i spend too much money, and somehow still F it up with spices or just burning the meal. Your dad is so creative and good at explaining techniques that now i can just go to the store, grab some meat and vegetables, and think of an original yet tasty meal.
I love this channel and all the turning fast food into gourmet stuff. But THIS is whats REALLY awesome. PLEASE more videos for us wanna be home chefs on how to turn regular old groceries into these amazing dishes.
Your dad is one of the most interesting figures on TH-cam I've seen in a long time.. every video I'm watching on edge waiting to see what he comes up with.. great content
Watching your dad cook is very soothing and it has motivated me to cook more and try new things in the kitchen. Great job with the editing and content! keep it up buddy
I havent been active in the chat for a while so i might have missed something but i appreciate how your pops was attentive to the vegetarians (me). love your family and keep up the good work!
That beat you always have playing in the background is so dope. I think I had it saved on one of my playlists but I can't remember. This dish is amazing BTW.
Made this and it was really damn good. Had leftover pork shoulder, so I chopped it up finely instead of ground beef. And used homemade teriyaki sauce instead of soy+oyster sauce, because i already had it. Will make again for sure. He's right, the corn really makes it nice!
The food looks delicious but I keep watching your videos just for you and your father interacting with each other! Hope my son and I have that type of bond when we’re older!
I love watching your dad in the kitchen cooking. I will definitely be try to make this but without the meat as he also suggested being that I am vegetarian.
Dude you did one of these videos and never did again and I still come back to this video to make this after even a couple of years!!! You should revisit this concept, love the recipe and love you guys.
I do what I call hippie rice. Something my mother made since I was little growing up in the 70's. I cut/slice carrots, celery, and onions and fry them in skillet until the carrots soften. Add a couple eggs in a cleared section of pan and scramble them as they cook. Then add cooked rice and a tablespoon or two of butter and some salt. When everything has been cooked well, usually add some soy sauce for flavor. Maybe it sounds weird but it was made from affordable ingredients at the time. Still an affordable meal. Sometimes we add extras if we have it like zucchini or meat. Usually chicken. Sometimes I do a bit of teriyaki with the chicken meat using sugar, water, and soy sauce. It's a nice change sometimes. This hippie rice is something I really enjoy and have had no complaints about from others who tried it. Even if it isn't traditional, lol.
My cousin used to work at your Dad’s restaurant in Toronto. Chuck Maloney. He used to talk about it all the time, he loved that place. I have always wanted to come to Toronto and eat there because how much he hyped about it.
As a rule I dont go to fast food places . I think the food is gross. But your dad used his magic and transformed it into something fantastic. Such a talent
Idk how you remember all the ingredients and portions. I've always just winged it with whatever I made unless it was one of my moms recipes. Another great cheap meal that I used to do in college is beef Ramen noodles corn and beef jerky. The cheap rock hard beef jerky that can break a tooth. You boil the water with the jerky before you add the noodles. Add flavoring packet then the noodles and then the corn. Wanna get fancy add some green onions
Back here making this once again. Not a college student... just a guy saving some money. I used a wok instead of a skillet but mmmm mmmm. I'd give it an 11 if I could. Thank you Susur Lee!!
Love this video there a lot of information the you can pick and used in cooking I love how your dad explain everything (there is alot to learn from one video) unlike other channel where they explain the recipe not the cooking tips ✅
That was absolutely mesmerizing and so purely enjoyable. Thank you for such simple tips, looking forward to trying this recipe and all of those super cool tips 🦋😎🦋
You should make a shirt with an anime style drawing of your dad with a spoon or something that says *stir stir stir*! That would be hilarious. Even like the look of those fakku shirts... I would cop one for sure
Afaik, you wash rice because the sack/bag it get's stored in during it's way to the supermarket gives it a weird musty smell. Same if it's not been stored under perfect conditions also.

Big Facts.. we need budget, mid-level and high-level kitchen tools
For an asian household, a rice cooker is a must lol
This is a great idea!
Yes!! I’d love to hear his take on a decent set of knives and premium sets!

I liked the technique used in cooking the beef so it comes out tender and like mined beef. Will definitely make this sometime
The food looks delicious but I keep watching your videos just for you and your father interacting with each other! Hope my son and I have that type of bond when we’re older!
