- A trailer that appeared on my (1995) Star Wars Original Trilogy (VHS) collection. I have been wanting to upload this trailer for some time. I always remember when I rented these films from Blockbuster, I would remember this trailer. Its been there since the beginning of my childhood, and now that I am older I still love it. I was apart of the Generation who "Experienced it for the very first time" with these VHS tapes.

used to watch this everytime I watched the old VHS trilogy. knew it off by heart
wow, the nostalgia of watching this. For me, these few moments are my first memories of Star Wars growing up.

I found the 1995 VHS set at a goodwill... Letterbox edition! In perfect condition. I'm now copying them to DVDs before they deteriorate.

Well, no one is changing them anymore. Now that Disney is buying Fox, there are no more hurdles to them releasing the old versions.
I couldn't stop smiling the entire time... this was the first SW thing I ever saw when my dad showed me ESB when I was young! I became a fan right then and there
Even though I was born in 2001 right when the prequels started coming out, THIS was my introduction to star wars, my dad started me out the right way, and I'll never forget when he pulled this bad boy out when I was 4 or 5 and said "I wanna show you my favorite movies from when I was about your age" what followed was some of the most impactful moments of my young life and I was hooked. I didn't even know what the prequels were not watched them until I was 7 or 8 I think. And I still have this box set safely in storage and assuming I can maintain a VCR when the time comes this is 100% how I entend to introduce my kids to star wars.
I found the box set today at a Half-Price Books for only $10! I'm only 15 and I have never seen the original trilogy in their original form. I'm excited to see it now, all I need is a VHS Player!
Watching this preview always makes me proud to be a Star Wars fan!

+ApexCactus Although you CAN buy them on DVD as a bonus disc in limited edition versions.
Sometimes they can be pricey, but it's worth it :)
The Red Viper Yeah, I've been looking for them on DVD, the movies are on the bonus disc, sadly the quality is terrible, Harmy used them to restore the trilogy tho, the Despecialized editions are a gift from heaven.
I do own the trilogy in VHS by the way, they are my babies.
+ApexCactus quality terrible? I wouldn't have thought so. I bought them about two years ago, and besides it being in 4:3 format, the quality is just as you'd expect from a movie from the time

The original versions of the original trilogy had since gotten released on DVD, though.
Jim Cummings does a pretty neat narration.
The reason why they said "one last time" is because before they are using the cgi animation until 1997.
I had theses on VHS when I was a teenager and eventually sold them. That was a dumb move.
Oh man I haven't seen this commercial in forever, but I still have it pretty much memorized.
I remember getting these when I was 5 and watching all of them for the first time just thinking they were the greatest thing ever. I still think that. I think we still have them somewhere.

Wow, thank you for posting, I was actually born in 1995. I remember watching these with my father when I was two or three years old. Also, I just realized that Jim Cummings was the one doing the voice over for this.

Found this baby for $10 on amazon... now to dig through my attic to find a VCR.
I feel you man! My parents showed me these tapes as a kid and made me a fan of Star Wars so the 1995 tapes will always be special to me.
I have these movies at home if I know how valuable they were really going to be I never would have open them

this was the shit when i was a kid! bad ass! it was the thing i was sooo into. waited along time before mom actually bought the 3 movies, and then the toys, and then the prequel movies ----damn---best years of my life!

Hondo Ohnaka (and Shocker) is a narrator and his voice similar to Peter Cullen a semi retired voice actor.

Thuis only comes out of the left earbud when using headphones. Mine's from a higher quality vhs anyways.

They made it sound like you wouldn't be able to get these movies anymore on video. But George Lucas had a nasty trick up his sleeve, the "special" editions. FOREVER!!

I've heard that this edition had edits too ( though not nearly as bad as the DVDs) and that the original theatrical versions were only ever released on Laserdisc. Can somebody back this up?

i felt cheated at the time,i thought it was the last time you could own them full stop,i went straight to woolworths to buy these at a high price,then 2 years later,the special edition comes out.few years later on dvd,then dvd special edition,now blu ray,,how many times did this guy sell the same movie?just changed it here and there :( :(

I have more faith in Disney releasing the original versions than Lucas. I'm still skeptical, however since the demand for the original versions are so high, I think we may get one in 2017 for the 40th anniversary. One can only hope.

he tricked us into buying them ,because if you were my generation,they were on every christmas. it give you the impression you would not see starwars again unless you bought them there and then.the money he has earned off fans with different formats through the years from the same film upsets me.
gareth williams technically they weren't lying when was the last time you saw the unaltered trilogy anywhere in the past 15 or so years non TV not for sale that's it in 95 was the last time to get the unaltered version
