Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (Part 51): The End

- Part 51 of 57, of a video walkthrough for Professor Layton and the Unwound Future.
In this video, Professor Layton reverses the flow of the generator. The fortress of destruction then starts to implode, and our heroes try to escape. Escape isn't very easy, but Layton's great driving skills save the day. The fact that his car can now fly helps, too.
Our heroes escape safely, and everyone is evacuated from Future London. Layton and Celeste go back to the fortress to save Clive, moments before the fortress falls down into the now-empty Future London and explodes.
Clive speaks with Professor Layton before he is arrested. The Prime Minister speaks for a while, then Layton has a conversation with Dimitri. Dimitri has unexpected news: Celeste is really Claire, Layton's girlfriend. It seems the time machine worked after all!
Claire has a touching goodbye with Layton, before she returns to her own time (and inevitable death). The ending credits then roll. After this, we see Luke and his family leave for a new continent, and we get to read the first letter that Layton receives from Luke.

Am I the only person that hopes bill dies? Dimitri lost his love and life's work, Clive lost parents house and pretty much everything, and Layton lose Claire twice... And he dosnt even give a shit he just made so many people suffer.
Let it go.
I'm actually hoping Chelmey keeps tabs on him and arrests him for fraud or something. I wouldn't even mind if he forged the evidence.
Or better yet, have Clive write a news article about the time machine explosion and revealing the fact Bill was the one responsible for it.
@@DeltaSilver88 My best guess is why The Prime Minister is always so Sleepy is probably because of some Chemicals that were being used for The Bomb that Killed Claire it probably gave Him A Nasty Side Effect that makes Him Sleep all of The time
i still love Clive and his smart, well-dressed self even after all the horrible things he did. It was Bill Hawk's fault for being so impatient with the time machine, killing off his parents after all...

Clive: What a relief! I was sure you were going to shun me and make sure the whole world hates me.
Layton: What an ungentlemanly thing to do. Why on earth would I do that?
Chelmey- You do realise he built a mobile fortress that just smashed up into London, the most heavily populated city in the UK, and crushed hundreds of houses in doing so, killing almost thousands of people in the process. You do realise that we have a pandemic and mass panic on our hands? There's going to be rioting, people will think it was a terrorist attack or something like that, we'll have to evacuate London so the people will think they're safe, and I'm sure it crossed your mind that THERE IS A BLOODY MASSIVE HOLE IN THE CENTRE OF LONDON!! London will be structurally weakened from the very ground beneath our feet exploding. We also have the hundreds of people from the underground city to deal with. We have no homes for them to stay in, and you just blew up their underground ones. We do have to deal with some Syrian refugees as well. What are we going to do with all those people. I know you did it to get revenge for your parents, but you have commited murder and you have just kidnapped the PM! You are going to jail for the rest of your life!
Clive: Oh.
Layton- I take it back, Clive. You will be shunned! Shunned, I say!
This, by far, is my favourite Prof. Layton game XD
The brilliant people of Level 5. It is an amazing, beautiful, heartfelt plot, even if it is sad, and unfair.They sleep knowing that they have done this, and have made a subtle satire to the events similar to that of this game. So many lives are destroyed in the name of progress, and no one ever seems to care or do anything about it. We often block these out, but it has happened time and time again.
It doesn't follow the sequels because everything else is a prequel to this game.
Yup, if you look at the time line, this game is the last to come.

That ending is depressing, I'm crying but I can't stop laughing at the song lol
Michael singing brings tears to my eyes, so emotional... So touching
I wept uncontrollably during pretty much the entire epilogue, and I thought it was over when the credits started but then they had the Luke leaving bit!
basicly instead of shut down it's goes boom cause the ammunition for the cannons spat on the floor that's why the cannon rooms and nearby rooms explode and some cause of heavy steam build up

And your singing is not so bad as you say, Michael! It actually didn't ruin the mood of the ending,it just made me cry even more becauce it fits it. Your voice is really nice, I usually don't watch video walkthroughs because most of the time the commenters sound really awful. But I could listen to you for all day. :) Amazing walkthrough! Consider you have a new fan in your gang. :) Hope to see some more great walkthroughs in the future!

this video made me cry because clive gets taken away and claire cause she has to go back to her own time back to the moment of that blast 10 years ago
even though clive was about to destroy the whole of london, i feel sorry for him because his parents died when he was only young and the reason he got arrested was because of his parents death and he wanted to get revenge and he had no idea what he was doin :( now that i think about it clive is an awesome character!! =D
Because killing people is not what a true gentleman does. Nobody deserves to die, everyone should be given a chance to atone for his/her deeds.

The end of this game is SO heartbreaking...
I felt really bad when Clarie went back to her own time. I understand Layton's sadness when Claire was gone.

they should make another layton game with clive in it. But this time, he should be a good guy and help the professor.
That's the trick. Near the end players always think they will be hit with the hardest part of the game, however ending need to be fast. So hence the need of a point of no return, that's also to help trick the player into expecting the hardest part. Once you learn this trick you can master all video games.
The end made me cry too...and the whole thing with Clive. I thought Layton said that they would make Bill and Dimitri pay for their crimes? Yeah, guess that didn't happen...

I HATE that Claire couldn't stay longer. I was thinking "At least let them eat together or something! They haven't seen each other in a long long time! That's so unfair!" I feel so sad for Layton and Claire. RIP Claire.

I showed my friend this ending not that long after beating it, and he didn't cry!!!! By the way, you made a sad moment funny when you started singing.
The rabbit is important to the plot because of the experiment that he described, the being in one room the lights going out and then when the lights come back on being in a different room. This is simular to Layton and Luke with the time machine being in one Londom and then being in another.

Solving the reverse rotation puzzle the first time, the answer may have been stuck in your subconsucis, (sorry for the misspelling) therefore making it easier for you the second time. It's just a theory, but I think it may be. :) Thanks for this video.

@FGSA10upitcher Well, he DID kill a very large amount of people if you think about it. He just busted up through London and started firing cannons everywhere. I was actually surprised at how the game just glazed over that fact, and last cutscenes seemed to suggest it never happened.

@theyellowocarina The next game is called Last Specter and it will come out in America in Fall. The game is about Professor's first case with Luke. It already came out in Japan in 2009. You can go look up the trailer. It's on youtube.

@AznKawaiiSmile There are two new games. The next one that is gonna be released is called Last Spector/Spector's Flute/Devil's Flute (Depends on what country you are in), this game and the other game (Mask of Miracle which will only be for the 3DS) is set back around 3 years before the first game, Curious Village.
Spector's Flute is the first game in the storyline, then goes the movie Enternal Diva, Mask of Miracle and you get the point from there.
It's likely you have the UK version, that one is "The Lost Future". Some of the puzzles, Luke's voice and the text at the end is different, as well as a few minor things in between.
