TIBURON BUILD PART #12 | CARBON FIBER HOOD RESTORE & INSTALL | VIS RACING CARBON FIBER HOOD

- In this video we install a carbon fiber hood on the Tiburon.
But before we can install it, we have to restore it. I was able to pick this hood up for FREE. Yes, for free. If you'd like to see that video, please see my "1000 subs special".
The hood is a "OEM Style VIS Carbon Fiber Hood". The fitment is okay, all the lines match up perfectly. However, closing the hood has to be done very carefully and slowly. It has a tough time latching but it does eventually with patience. I am thinking about installing hood pins in the future that way I can avoid this closing issue.
Here is the order of operations on how I restored the hood:
1. Clean
2. 600 grit sandpaper
3. 1500 grit sandpaper
4. Alcohol prep
5. 3 cans of 2K clear coat
6. 2000 grit sandpaper
7. Buff and wax with compounds
8. Wipe clean
9. Install!

Nice to see this. I love how you make better and better. Can't wait to see it fully finished. In next year I will be taking driving lessons since I'm gonna be old enough and hopefully if i pass everything and get the driver license I will be able to buy tibby and take care of it as well. I freakin love these tibbys.

Idk if you remember but I told you I was getting one and I have it in my possession and removed the rear wiper. Mine has some bumper damage but I intend to get a Vader bumper to change up the front look (a lil too round for my liking) any chance you intend to replace the wing or change body style at all?
I plan on making my own widebody kit
