I’d love to see a before and after dyno results. Not that would necessarily be indicative of real word benefits of this set up. But I believe more benefits would come from the better Mopar air filter.
By far the most helpful video on TH-cam. Question about the hellcat air tube. I have a 3.6 and put the mopar cold air intake on her. On my air box there is a square cut out where the round one is on yours. Is there a conversion for this to fit in mine? Would I need to get the new air box as you did? I’m just not sure if the CAI would fit in that air box
Thanks for the video. I have a 2019 Charger R/T that I would like to do this upgrade on. Mine came from the factory with the airbox that has the hole in the front, but because of all of the plastic lining in the front end, I don't think much air is getting to it. I plan to install that plastic tube along with the shroud with the hole in it, but I'm going to keep the stock grille without the nostrils. I understand there are 2 variations of the shroud and snorkel for the 2015-2018 models and for 2019. Having done the upgrade, do you know what the difference is between the two?
@vortecd I looked into that and honestly there is just a small indention in the 19 Radiator shield which in my opinion wouldn't make much of a difference in air flow but you also have to trim the intake snorkel some to get the 19 shield to fit so I decided to stick with the 15-18.
@@scattin_392 All good. I changed the grille in mine and even though I already had the hellcat air inlet I bought the '19 radiator shield and modified my air duct. The '19 stuff is cheaper also if you are buying new
So I'm looking to do this conversion and I just got a k&n drop in filter for my 5.7. Is the hellcat airbox bigger because I dont want to buy another filter
Horsepower none to minimal. Air temp wise is night and day. So I installed this on mine and my car usually ran at 215 with this plus a 40$ 180 thermostat my car never saw 200 usually ran around 190
I have a Daytona and switched to the Hellcat airbox. I don't like the open filter in the engine compartment sucking in hot air. Testing at the track, the Hellcat airbox and duct was faster
Welp 5 months from this comment and I did it myself. It took my 2 and hours to take it off 30 min maybe to but the grill pieces in. Another 30-hour putting the tubing and grill air scoop in. And it took me 3 hours to put the bumper back on. These two videos where extremely helpful with the process. I watched enough that I really didn’t need to go back and forth to know what I was doing.
Manuel Tamayo no sir it didn’t..see if you can’t get a code reader or take it to the dealership. They should clear it, especially sense it’s an OEM part.
@Charity 392 yeah I have seen some of the true cold air intakes and some of them do look really nice but the ones that are true cold air intakes are 300+ dollars and dont flow much more if any better than the hellcat bottom. To each their own though, take care and thanks for the feedback.
@@charity3924 I am mostly doing cosmetic stuff to the car. To get real performance out of the 6.4 you really have to invest more than I am willing to do. My plan is to drive this for a year or two longer then get a Hellcat.

I'm happy you did the side by side. I'm googling and couldn't tell the difference beyond the side inlet hole.
Wish I had a guy like Troy as my neighbor..💯👊🏼..

Do you by chance have the part number for the snorkel @ 0:51 and the other part at 11:40?

The foam is to prevent the box from rattling against the inner fender
Why did you install the '15-'18 Hellcat radiator shield and air duct instead of the '19 which flows better with the new grille inlets?

@AlbinoRhino392 where did you get your seal from ? Can you provide the link and part # so I can Order, thanks
David Tolbert IV you can buy it at any hardware store, I think Walmart to! Or just go on amazon and look up foam seal tape
Already did, what size did you get, I want to get that Particular brand and or part #
What size foam seal/shell do I need to get to fit that air box, please let me know

Why not do a cold air intake like on the Daytona?
