  • When you make an oval bottom it is very important to make the starting chain stitches tight. The stitches need to be very close together, otherwise you will see the yarns you carry.
Here you can find a video that shows how to make a Long tail foundation base chain. • Crochet Long Tail Foun...
    Written instructions
Make a chain with the Long tail foundation base chain.
Round 1. Start carrying 2 yarns. Crochet 3 stitches over the yarns you carry. Then make one single crochet (sc) in each chain stitch. Then crochet 3 stitches over the yarns you carry. End this round with one sc in each chain stitch on the other side of the chain.
Round 2. Add 2 more yarns. From now on all the stitches will be made in the back loop. Make an increase in the next 3 stitches. One sc in each stitch on the long side. Make an increase in the next 3 stitches. One sc in each stitch on the long side.
Round 3. Make an increase in the next 6 stitches. One sc in each stitch on the long side. Make an increase in the next 6 stitches. One sc in each stitch on the long side.
Round 4. "Make an increase in the next stitch and then 1 sc", repeat this 6 times. One sc in each stitch on the long side. "Make an increase in the next stitch and then 1 sc", repeat this 6 times. One sc in each stitch on the long side.
Round 5. "Make an increase in the next stitch and then 2 sc", repeat this 6 times. One sc in each stitch on the long side. "Make an increase in the next stitch and then 2 sc", repeat this 6 times. One sc in each stitch on the long side.
Round 6. "Make an increase in the next stitch and then 3 sc", repeat this 6 times. One sc in each stitch on the long side. "Make an increase in the next stitch and then 3 sc", repeat this 6 times. One sc in each stitch on the long side.
Round 7. "Make an increase in the next stitch and then 4 sc", repeat this 6 times. One sc in each stitch on the long side. "Make an increase in the next stitch and then 4 sc", repeat this 6 times. One sc in each stitch on the long side.
You can change the size of an oval bottom by adjusting the number of chain stitches and/or adjusting the number of rounds.

That so creative and so unlike any other oval crochet base tutorials, it's really unique and amazing so it's thicken your work and make it even and look like a complete weaved one piece, thanks for this an amazing idea and a very useful tutorial ❤️

      Nao kro Thank you.
The extra yarns I used make the bottom really firm. There is another advantage, you can change colors really easy. This methods is used for making Mochilas. If you have Facebook, check out my group: Mochila bags, crochet, for more information about this technique. Or watch my other videos.

Question...do you increase on every round, or every OTHER round?? Most of my previous crocheting is more doily oriented, where increases are more spaced out, row wise...
Also, do you have any pictures of completed bags that I could see?

With Mochila you increase every round.

I can't see if you are crocheting through the back loop only of the starting chain or through both loops for the first round?

Kosmos Star I started with the long tail cast on. With this cast on you have two loops on both side of the chain. The first round is crocheted through both loops. The rest is crocheted in back loop only.

How many grams wool use in one small bag. Maam can you tell me.

    • @MarionVerloop
      @MarionVerloop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

amrita pattnaik Recommended yarn is mercerized cotton yarn, 125 meter per 50 gram.
It is hard to say how much yarn you need. What size do you have in mind. What one thinks is small is normal size for someone else.
