This area also has the stunning Cape Perpetua Overlook itself with a neat little viewing "castle" like building perched on the overlook, that you can either do the longer and steeper hike from the main visitor center or drive up to the top and then do the really short flat loop trail out to the viewing point and stone overlook building that passes through a scenic and interesting spruce forest.
There is also the really underrated Giant Spruce Trail from Cape Perpetua Campground (or a little longer from the visitor center), featuring one of the largest Sikta Spruce trees on the Oregon Coast. (Also fun fact, the worlds tallest trees were once the Douglas Firs in Oregon and Washington, towering some 100 or so feet taller than the currently tallest redwoods in California (many of which were over 400 ft tall, some over 450 ft tall), but sadly all of these 400+ foot Douglas-firs have been all logged off around the late 1800s and early 1900s.)

I also love this spectacular area! Thor's Well was my favorite attraction, but individual impressions can vary with the tides. Devil's Churn, Cook's Chasm, and Tide Pooling are also great coastal features, and hikes to the Giant Spruce Tree and the Cape Perpetua Overlook are not to be missed. This is what I saw: th-cam.com/video/9AcLgU5ui1U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BxMouzEJ-0A_Xm9B

It is incredible how overhyped the Oregon coast is. However, the totality of the Siuslaw NF is not. This is living art.

It’s beautiful, but the California Coast > Oregon Coast in my opinion
