This is lovely. Thanks for making it.
Like Killian Jornets ridge running videos, but for actual normal people.
Seriously though, I really like your vibe. Lovely stuff.

A good route. Very quiet. Normally packed on that summit route. Striding is do’able without spikes but I would avoid Swirral without proper gear when icy. Grisdale valley is so picturesque and strangely calming. Enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.

Loved it John. Love this area - was up St Sunday this week. Right, you’ve inspired me.. never properly fell ran before - I’m always hiking and wild camping. But I did lightly jog around crinkle crags, Bowfell and down the band back to Langdale, so I know I can do it very gently (going up may be a different story!). The first question I would ask would be about footwear, but if you recommend your Scott’s I’ll have a mooch at them. Cheers mate, Simon.

Get some poles mate they’ll help massively on the up hills. I’m dropping a gear review of what I carry on the fells later tonight, check it out 🙂🤘🏻

@@lakelandtrailrunner 100% will! I’ve got poles for hiking, but I’m assuming I’d need lightweight ones for running. Slipping or rolling my ankle is my main concern. Cheers mate

Great vid.. after years of walking in the Lakes, I finally managed ‘run’ the loop from Swirls car park, over top, and back down via Grisdale tarn.. was a few weeks before Christmas when the clear weather was about.. but of course it was frozen over, and in cloud.. I had my Saucony ST shoes on, and still needed the spikes. Great experience! Can’t wait to do it again.. hopefully with a view.. one day I’d like to do the Striding and Swirral loop.. haven’t done those routes at all yet.. looks interesting in the snow.. think I’ll wait for summer 😂

Ahhh the days when the weather was clear.. I’m waiting for a clear (ish) day so I can do another vid! 🤞🏻 Thursday! The edges are a classic loop it’s one of my favourite runs. Glad you like the vid mate, hopefully I’ll have another out by the end of the week.. weather dependent 🙏🏻

    Nice
Ran today on the moors above osmotherley and then dipped in the North Sea near Redcar. It was fresh!! And made friends with a seal.
Makes you feel alive to be in the cold
