Hey, I am a Spec Ed teacher and your sweet Babygirl is not presenting any signs of autism. She is a baby! My grandgirls are 1 and 3, each have developed differently. For instance, my 3 yr old grandgirl has just started speaking in sentences. Half the time we need her to repeat her words. My 1 yr old grandgirl speaks words more clearly than her sister. No worries here and I believe people need to mind their own business and worry about their own children and grands! She is beautiful and happy! I have watched Y'all from the beginning! (Way before your pregnancy) Blessings to all Y'all from Georgia ♥️🤍💙🇺🇸

I have a Autistic daughter that didn’t start saying full sentences until she was three years old. Speech plays a factor in being tested for Autism but that isn’t the only thing. Another thing, Autism doesn’t mean slow or delayed education wise. She is higher on the spectrum and learn quickly. She isn’t in school and she already knows how to read, count, and does simple math. It’s what you pour into your child. I’ll never let a diagnosis determine my child’s future. If you’re an Autism Mom give yourself a pat on the back. God blessed you with a genius

How they respond to certain social cues, reciprocate language in response to other people's conversations, make eye contact, self regulate and petition for their wants, needs and desires. Its a whole litmus of tests. Usually, they dont even test for autism until the age of 3. Even then the doctors will tell you that children's speech milestone's will vary from child to child and before they test for autism, they will test each childs hearing first. Malenka can hear.

When I talked to the doctor, she asked if we talk to him a lot and read books. It was my son's grandma who did that a lot. The doctor said to give my son a break. She was right. With some speech therapy his speech was corrected and he is a perfectly healthy happy young man, graduating highschool in the coming year. My daughter (4) talks SO much and has SO much knowledge and awareness about what she is saying. She was like Melena when she was her age. She was very quiet always taking everything in. Always in her own world. In the mornings I noticed she was very active and chatty but would not talk during the day. Be careful with that statement. It’s not a “bad thing” because individuals with ASD can’t help how they were born. However, ASD is a spectrum, someone can be high functioning or low functioning. Sometimes with high functioning individuals you may not even notice there ASD, but with low functioning individuals you absolutely notice and it’s not a pleasant experience a lot of the time. Some are nonverbal, physically aggressive, have abnormal eating habits, etc. That disorder can take a toll on a whole family.

You are great parents and she’s a beautiful girl. I don’t believe she has autism and any learning disability. However, get her hearing check just to make sure that are problems with her hearing. If so, there is support out there for your daughter….she will be okay!! The programs for kids with various issues are amazing now. They literally help get to where the issue doesn’t exist any longer.
Let me say this though: This is the time to help her to develop language so that she can speak; it how we all have learned how to talk some way or the other one. JUST MODEL/show her what you want her to do first WHILE SAYING WHAT YOUR DOING. then let her do what you did continuing to explain what she is doing to her..this is giving her language: Do this for everything that you and your husband do and for everything that she does: model and say what you’re modeling, 2. Let her practice what you’re modeling while saying what she is doing. Keep doing this for everything that you guys to in front of her and SAY what she is doing …to give her language!!! I love how you read to her. This will help too a lot. The key is to define everything to her that you guys are doing and she is doing to. Make her use her words not babble. If you give her water take for example, say mommy is giving you water, this is water water melana. When she puts her cup up to her mouth, tell that’s whT’s she’s doing, etc. JUST MODEL, MODEL, MODEL and say what you are doing to her and what she is doing to her.
If she has a hearing challenge, this will explain why you have to model more than normal. If she can’t hear what you’re saying then she can’t process easily what you’re saying to develop language as she should be able to do so.
It will work itself out…RELAX..kids to learn at their own pace!! But still talk to her more…model what you want her to while saying it, then let her do it while you say what she is doing. Say what she is doing and you and your husband are doing always..say it..this is talking to her!!! When you pick up a spoon, say it..mommy is picking up a spoon..if your food is on the spoon say food in on the spoon and I am getting ready too put it in your month or fed you ….this with it. DEFINE/SAY always what You’re doing or your husband is doing in front of her and say what she is doing away to her. It exhausting but this is how they develop language..it called “talking to them”!!
I love your family. God Bless
Sincerely- a teacher and learning specialist

If your pediatrician has a concern about her speech, language, comprehension etc that is between you and her pediatrician. People try to come up with a whole diagnosis from small clips of a child’s whole day. Some people want to make sure and tell you so you can get help, should she need it and address it as soon as possible which helps normally if they experience some type of developmental delay but as a parent myself I would not listen to random people on the street which is equivalent to what subscribers are to you guys ❤

Malena is such a smart little girl! You are right, Raff and Iyah, every child develops at different stages in their lives. No two children are alike! I have seen Malena brought up so well by both of you. I see how well she interacts with you and your families, I see her so engaged with her books and toys, she is doing amazing! I am a mom of a child on the autism spectrum and I know how it would hurt if someone would pass some nasty comments on my child.
Malena is brilliant and beautiful! Your right, Raff, the haters and their comments just are a reflection of themselves. Your baby is AMAZING!
