So sweet that my comment got deleted. I love Africa with my whole heart regardless of how difficult it is for a white, young-ish blonde female to travel there. I once had a guy in shared taxi proposing to "put chocolate baby in my belly" after simple "How are you". Go ahead and remove this comment as well. I'm just sharing my experience. My fiance is black Senegalese, again, I love Africa, but being white blonde demands a lot balls to follow through. So hearing someone people stare at them in Poland - it's nothing compared to what I always experience in Africa.
Pole here - yes, we stare a lot. And, yes, Black People are being stared at even more so! Reason for this is Poland being very homogenous country. About 95% of people in Poland are Polish, most of them very white. Picture this: as a Black Person here, every day you may encounter someone who has never seen a Black Person before. Of course they gonna stare ;)
@@jutrzenka7503 I remember I once saw a video from Africa where kids saw white man for the first time the kids ran away quickly to hide in their houses thinking that the white person was a devil. It was very funny. Staring is something that is normal and out of curiosity.
@@Mamie-ep9kk yeah. You are utstanding in particular place - black, redhead, heavily frackeled, 2 different eye colours - people will stare. You don't like, go back to community where this is the norm (if there is a such) and don't play victim.
in Black an Asian countries we are stared as well. People are curious. I was (as the Pole) even stared in Jamaican restaurant in London, what about that :)
@@woytzekbron7635 If you are from your own country where you are not used to getting off and you move to another country of different race, they are gonna stare at you, maybe it might be awkward at the beginning but is something that you have to get use to because it out of curiosity and nothing more
This is funny but, the custom of staring was adopted from the Jews, same in Jerusalem. Not meant to be offensive. If anyone looks remotely different or acts in a different manner, or even if a person were only smiling, they will stare at you like you're either mentally challenged or from outer space.
I wanted to see how American black men's experience in Poland. There is a difference in how one is perceived based on where they come from. For example in Thailand many African claim to be American with the women because the reputational difference.
@@DerrickWe The treatment is always different once they know that you come from America. At first you will be still seen as black guy or maybe someone from Africa.
@DerrickWeil dude are you an illiterate or what? Africans are blacks. Black is a race, not nationality. And black Americans are originally Africans before slavery.
Because white people have lived there for thousands and thousands of years, because white people built Poland and defended Poland for thousands of years, because Polish people have been white since the country was founded in 966 and before then, the multiple states which later were united to form Poland had been white since the beginning of time. Why is Ethiopia all black? Very much the same reasons. If these facts offend you, stay away because this is not going to change.
