I had 5 note 4 phones still use one, the boot loop is caused by the eMMC chip getting unstuck from the board . you have to open the phone, remove the board and put a small metal rectangle between the eMMC chip and the phone housing. so when you put it all back together the metal peace will apply pressure against the eMMC

      Sometimes is the battery
One day i was using a social app (Amino) and i made an action that is very heavy for any phone, so i did it in the note 4 with like 26% of battery life and...the phone just power of.
Then, i power it on and anything works fine, so yeah the battery could cause the problem

It's March 30, 2022 and I'm still using my Note 4 since I bought it new in 2014. Other than being a bit slower, my phone still works great and I'm hoping it will last even longer as I use my phone for just about everything. I especially love being able to take notes with it where I use my S-pen to jot down a grocery list or make other notes when I don't have pen and paper handy. I also love the fact that I can replace the battery or expand the storage plus it has a phone jack which u can't get on the new phones as far as I know. Yep, Note 4 is still a great phone!

Try to open a case with eBay, it's worth a shot. Try the "Item did not arrive as described" spheal as it does say in the description it should be "fully functional and working."
Hey on another note (no pun intended) it was your video, the Note4 in 2019 video, a couple years ago that got me into buying my own Note4 in January 2019. I still use it today with an extended 7500mah battery. Recently I've been buying old Note4's and swapping parts and motherboards to build another backup phone and it's been awesome. Of course it's slow but functionality has always been my priority. When the time comes I'll get a Note9. I guess I'm trying to say that you got me started with the Note4, so thanks man!

  • @SmarchitectMann

The battery is too weak to hold a charge, especially when doing a process like taking a picture or downloading a big file. But it will work perfectly if it's connected to a charger. I've replaced countless Galaxy Note 4 batteries.

I haven't used my Note 4 in about 2 years. I still have it. It's in much better condition than the one you just purchased off of eBay. But sad to say, it does still suffer for from that boot lag. But it doesn't have any burn or audio issues or busted pen or anything else wrong. I'm hoping you can get your full refund back. Hands down, the Note 4 is still my favorite phone of all time.

I was actually excited to open the package.. This video was supposed to be a positive WOW video with nostalgia of the Note 4. Sadly it made a hard turn , hopefully I will be able to return it with no issues so I can go buy a functioning note 4. I knew it was not on the best shape but they mentioned it was all functional with no issues, so my goal was to use the hardware on this one and put it on my other note 4 that is in mint condition

Hi Mario. As an alternative to the fix shared by silviu mihai, here's how I approached this issue if the "cardboard fix" still fails to sort out the problem.
    - Install a free Android app called Wake Lock - Power Manager by draken. It's a proven solution to the Galaxy Note 4 boot loop issue
My 2nd alternative fix is not an easy one. It took me some trials & errors but I did found it helpful.
    Here are the steps:
    - Disassemble the Note 4 down to the motherboard (there are loads of videos here in TH-cam on how to do this)
    - Tools you'll need include: a heatgun with digital display & an infrared thermometer
    - Heatgun settings: 200 degrees & air flow at 5 L/min
    * Focus the heat of the heatgun in and around the eMMC for 1 to 2 minute but no more than 2 minutes as you might "fry" the chip and totally "kill" it
    - Using the infrared thermometer, check the temperature of the eMMC while you're applying the heat to it.
    - Make sure to heat the eMMC up to 100 degrees C for at least a minute. This causes the solder balls of the eMMC to reflow on the motherboard causing a good bond between the two surface.
    - Let it cool down. It doesn't take long for it to cool down.
    - Reassemble the phone
Hopefully, this will bring your Galaxy Note 4 back to life or a useful condition.
To all Galaxy Note 4 owners who will attempt and use this fix, good luck!

To my experience, My note 4 gets into boot loop sometimes after coming on main screen , when it failes to detect IMEI no. when it could not load imei, it restarts. . some time it keeps on restarting during boot when it reaches samsung logo screen. what i do is ,go into recovery mode ( by pressing volume up+power+home button). & clear the cache. since i also installed TWRP recovery so am able to clear Delvik cache, cache . & then when i restart. the phone successfully boots in to main screen. i have more latest phone of 2020. but the feel & user experience with note 4 is simply amazing. so i still prefer to use it over my more latest phones. Recently i installed on it custom rom names = Simple Rom V6C . its based on andriod 6.0.1 & its simply amazing with fast speed & much much better battery life than original samsung software. any one who feels that their note 4 started to lag & has less backup battery. must try this rom. i m satisfied with the above custom rom. one more thing. now with this rom, i have not noticed any bootloops & random restarts so far. even after many days. Good to go.

I still have mine. On it's third battery, it's a shame anker didn't make them anymore cuz i gotta go through some shady battery maker next time i want to replace it. God i miss replaceable batteries, $20 to completely reinvigorate your phone, i wouldn't have it now if it wasn't replacement ready. I don't have it connected to phone wifi, just home wifi, so use it as like a media player, mp3 player, podcast player, etc. And i read in it because i prefer the flat screen and square edges to the current curved phones for reading. It works just fine, a little laggy but that's fine for what it does. The camera is still nice, the screen is high def enough, non 3D games play fine, the speaker is great for a phone and i really like how it is on the back so it send sound up instead of trying the side when playing face down.
Works great for what it does, i can download hours of podcasts and TH-cam video/audio to take with me and i can add movies or tv shows otg or download them with the Netflix app.

  • @robbiepayne97
    @robbiepayne97 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I believe I figured out why the audio didn't work, when you scrolled the media back and forth and then it went red, I believe the phone thinks there are headphones plugged in at all times which is why you're not hearing any sound from speaker or earpiece, which is a hardware issue, I believe it has something to do with the water damage.

Yes I got an update. For about a week or so my phone was telling me no service. I went to The Metro by Tmobile dealer near me ( not the corporate store) and he told me that the new 5g upgraded towers are not compatible with Samsungs made before the S8. I was devastated. It meant I had to spend some unexpected money on a new cell phone when my Note was working perfectly well. So anyway he was wack. My note 4 started working again after about a week and then I got notice of this update. I figure it has something to do with the new system upgrades because people are going to raise holy hell about their phones being shut off suddenly.

And I have a Jail-broken Ebay purchased phone that is upgraded and seems nothing like my original. ABOUT EBAY NOTE 4 PHONES. I own 3 but have purchased 7. Sent back several. I am very doubtful that most of the phones are real NOTE 4's. They are very very cleaver clones. Impossible even to detect. However I discovered that the clones cannot stream to my monitor using a HDMI Cable which is something I do for gaming. And that is why a sent a few back until I gave up and kept the Franken-Note.

    1. Buy a note 4 from ebay with at least a working display (around 35$), motherboard/emmc broken doesn't matter
    2. Buy an intact motherboard from aliexpress (around 25$)
    3. Replace motherboard, putting a small cardboard or better between emmc chip/SoC and housing
    ( th-cam.com/video/jLPHWtb0StI/w-d-xo.html )
    4. Flash latest modem and bootloader
    5. Flash LineageOS 17.1 (Android 10) for note 4

One more thing. For such a note enthusiast you don't seem like you are willing to look under the hood of your note. You are not a Note man until you have changed the screen or motherboard or something. Earpiece maybe. Charging port. Hell change the back, and get a new pen.
