Hope you can help with this. I'm the same height as Rory, did anyone measure the distance from the ball to the toe-line? I struggle if I feel like I'm "reaching" for the ball. All other tips were spot on. Thanks.

@@davidt510 yeah almost feel like you're leaning too far forwards, especially with the hands out. Gives significantly more range of motion and prevents you from having to bend the arms in or stand up when swinging to correct for being too close
For right-handed/right eye dominant people/goofy style, the left foot is your forward/front foot. Left-handed/left eye dominant/regular style, the right foot is your forward foot.

Met Rocco at my home club in Murrieta CA & was working cart barn….was scared to ask him about the tiger experience , and thankful I did. He lit a stogie and sat next to me in the golf cart and talked for an hour. Awesome pod. Let’s go rors!

I’ve been around pro golf for 30 years. I can honestly say Rory’s drives just look different; it’s not subtle. He absolutely pounds the ball. A few years ago at the Travelers he hit one something like 430… 60 past anybody else all week. It’s impressive. He’s also just a great genuine dude. Always been a fan, always will be!
If you had to choose one tour player to play a round of golf with, for me it would have to be Rory. Down to earth, fun and full of knowledge which he is willing to give.

You can hit a hook/slice no matter where on the swing path you hit the ball. If you hit the ball early in your swing path with the club face closed then ball will start off on the right of target but hook left. If you hit the ball late in swing path with a closed face. The ball starts off left of target and hook even more left. Simple, you can hit a hook or slice NO MATTER YOUR SWING PATH. Hit the ball late in your swing path with open face then your ball starts off left but slice to the right. Hit the ball early in swing path with open face your ball starts off right and slice even more right. SO YEAH, CLUB FACE AT IMPACT (CLOSED OR OPEN) NO MATTER WHERE ON YOUR SWING PATH, DETERMINES HOOK OR SLICE NOT SWING PATH.
This was amazing! It's nice to know other people have the same golf swing issues I do, and how cool Rory was about willing to help fix everyones swings! so cool
It's nice and speaks to his character to see Rory get excited and celebrate with someone who improved and hit a drive 20 yards further than before, even though it's 100 yards behind Rory's own drives.
Who would have thought Riggs would have been the one who couldn't figure out how to get a better swing. He just can't turn his torso, his shoulders turn but that's it.

Moral of the story… none of us are standing far enough back, move the ball towards the front foot and spread your feet. Best lesson I’ve ever had.
By far enough back does he mean distance away from the ball or that we should be moving more to the right hand side/spreading our stance further?
