- When Grand Theft Auto 6 drops, I don't think we'll get to explore Vice City immediately. Here's my take on how it'll work and why it's a good thing.

Vice city will probably be inacessable for the first few missions and then after a few hours in we finally get the mission that takes us to Vice City for the first time, depending on how big the map feels in terms of scale, that long ass drive might feel like a big deal/accomplishment 🙌🙏

Being a huuuuge Vice City fan I can't wait to drive on Ocean Drive again BUT I would love it if Rockstar make getting to Vice City a big deal itself.. kinda having to make our way up to it and having the long drive as you said.. older GTA maps used to get unlocked progressively and I want that to return in 6.
It HAS to be a long ass drive. The map has to be AND FEEL huge
@ThestriX46 According to recent leaks, the whole studio at Rockstar India is in charge of designing Vice Beach/Vice City. One entire studio is working on that part of the map alone so most likely it's multiple studios working on different sections of the map so every part of the map should feel very very different as new ideas from different studios working together on one big project, for example "Little Haiti" and "Ocean Drive" will have different atmospheres and aura even tho they're both in "Vice City", likewise "Port Gelhorn" might feel like If you combined "Sandy Shores", "Grapeseed" and "Paleto Bay" from GTA V into one big area

I hope there’s like 3-5 hours of gameplay before a mission forces you to take a long rainy night drive to vice city, with some immersive conversations happening during the drive. Then you can explore vice city at sunrise
3-5 is definitely pushing it imo. Rdr2s opening snowy section was like 2 at the most. But I get what you're trying to say.
Yeah I’m glad i’m not the only one who didn’t wanna be able to access vice city right away. I imagine the game takes place in a small town in the beginning and then as you progress through the story then you get into vice city and other parts.
Hopefully the map lives up to the expectations and let's us enjoy very long drives
"From Zero to Hero" in Vice City Stories is my favourite GTA mission. The music is perfect whilst you're dodging the helicopter and the police, and you finally unlock Vice City Beach. I hope that there is a similar mission in GTA 6.
We need multiple big major cities again. SA after 20 years is still the best in terms of vibes, exploration and immersion. THE ENTIRE STATE OF SA
I feel like Port Gellhorn might actually be bigger than people think, but I do agree. Maybe in GTA 7.. 😅

For me, the most beautiful moments in Grand 5 are when I played as Trevor and traveled to Los Santos through the mountains. Unforgettable moments. I hope they return in 6 and they build to enter Vice City. I don’t want to start playing in the city. It will be poetic and wonderful moments, especially after all this waiting. We enter after hours of playing and explore Vice City, street after street.
I loved that too, especially when Trevor stopped and took a look and entire city at nighttime while cursing at Michael, I loved that scene
I feel like we got a taste of that in Red Dead 2 when they made us start in the snowy mountains and then gradually opened up the map more when they ended up setting up camp out of the snow. It'd be very cool if we started out in prison like the trailer showed, and then escape and be in hiding where we only have a small glimpse of the world around us. Then as the story progresses they open up the map more. Hope it's something like that

I remember how it felt in gta san andreas driving from los santos to san fiero, the highway rockstar purposly put going around the lower part of the map making the drive feel long, I hope thats the same case here.
Honestly Im open to the idea. Us starting in Valentine in RDR2 and having to work my way to Saint Denis was pretty satisfying so if we start off in Gellhorn and have to progress to the main Vice City, I think it would be met with warm reception

in gta 6 you get 5 stars wanted level if you leave port gellhorn to vice city at the beginning and it is like gta 4 and gta san andreas from leaving your city back then.

After playing RDR2, they will 100% have a moment where you have a long drive with a song that lasts perfectly through the whole drive, i loved that in rdr2.

This is a really good video. I think you made a solid prediction on what the story could be like. I could see a story about the duo starting off in Port Gellhorn and Lucia being freshly released from prison. I can see Lucia being more unhinged and careless with crime and Jason being more of a voice of reason and having a more tame approach to their criminal activity. “Bad luck I guess.” That one line suggests a lack of responsibility for whatever craziness she did to end up there. I can see her pushing and urging Jason to pull of more daring and dangerous robberies. “She tried to make my world what she thought it would be.” Maybe similar to how Dutch was with the gang in RDR 2, but with different dynamics and consequences Since the two are in a romantic relationship. I can see the pair enamored with the lights and glamour of vice city, slowly making more money, driving faster cars, more dangerous jobs ect ect. Ofc I could be wrong about all of this, but I think it’s a decent skeleton for whatever complexity Rockstar will serve us. I think you hit the nail on the head though, Vice City will be more of Journey/destination. Making it a grand reveal for our protagonist, and furthermore; the player

I hope for this too. I love earning my way thru the map. I also hope Rockstar intentionally delays the next GTAO so we can be accustomed to the mechanics the game offers.

I hope you get to do horseback riding, hunting, and fishing like in RDR2. Heck, give us modern farming and ranching with tractors, atvs, and rodeo. Game would be boring if it’s a clone of GTA 5. Open world needs constant interaction for immersion like in RDR2. There needs to be constant things you can do that makes you feel like the main story is a small part of the game. I hope they bring back gang territories and hideouts as well, so there are constant gang battles and properties to upgrade.
I hope we start with small crimes in port gellhorn and get busted. Then prison time showing more controls

I think the game will start with a robbery , like in GTA 5 (probably the diner robbery from the leaked footage). The robbery goes wrong, and Lucia and Jason end up in separate prisons. Maybe the trip to Vice City will be about reuniting with Jason?
If GTA Online is out on launch day, I'm not touching it until I finish the full story. I don't care how many days or weeks it takes, I'm finishing that damn story

I don't think she would be wearing an ankle monitor and robbing a store. because that's just telling the police it was you that robbed the shop. The trailer is in reverse and you're in jail after getting caught after a few minor armed robberies.

Great video, agree completely. working up to the big reveal of getting to the city would be such a cool moment and far better for pacing. Being a low-stakes criminal at the start and as things start to get higher stakes, or perhaps even as a retreat and having to "flee" to the big city after something big goes down would be great!
Starting out in vice city would be a disappointment because you dont have anything else as big that you have to look forward to.
I think you're right. However I think the shot where lucia sits on the car, I think that is when they first get to vice city
I hope the rest of the map is littered with small towns, wetlands full of wildlife, and plenty of stranger missions and unique cultures. Rockstar learned a lot making RDR2, I hope they incorporate the same attention to detail and making the map feel “alive”.

since im trying to get take the cannoli trophy without glitching because i already 100% the game and i want god father rating in my stats i have to do brown thunder every day so i know the city of vice city too well, and the hunter missile velocity and range.

think what's going to happen in six is start off in
Port gellhorn first quarter
Then you go to vice City the second quarter and that will be the biggest quarter in the game
And the third quarter is the other room with third City in the game
The 4th quarter of the game is Jason Lucia hiding in the Everglades
And the final quarter of the game will be done revisiting the three major cities in the game

Kinda right. The game will start with the diner robbery. You get caught but Jason can flee. In the prison when you get released they make you an offer. (this offer will not be known by the player until the twist comes) It turns out Lucia made a deal with the cops in prison. Get released early (so she can see her son grow up) but work undercover for the police.
The end will be that we can decide to if we will betray Jason or not.
Btw she is the one pushing Jason and her to go deeper into the crime world. Cause the police is pushing her to get into the vice city drug crime world. So they can bust a big boss.

What if in GTA 6 when we repeatedly shoot our guns non stop EX. LMG, At some point the gun would actually jam for a moment but not all the time.
It would actually be interesting to see if not implemented too realistically
or like when guns run out of ammo, instead of disappearing and switching to another gun, Jason or Lucia actually throws the weapon making the game more immersive
I do like that idea, kinda like Red Dead 2? I feel like that game is a bit more simulation and GTA is more arcade but yes, it would be cool!

GTA/rockstar needs a hurry up with this game. Only reason why I am saying this is because I want to laugh a lot of people with all the glitches that they’re trying to patch up.

The vibes of Jason and Lucia... there's something about it. The differences in their facial expressions when the police go by; she seems excited to have gotten away with it, and he seems like he is scared to death lol - she leads the way through the door and through the store.
As for that kicking in the store, anyone notice what looks like 2 bullet holes through the handle...? We get to rob stores while they're closed now?
And I've heard Jason may have military background, does that mean he is or was a police officer in Vice City?

Since GTA 5 brought back Families,Ballas,Vagos and Aztecas from Gta San Andreas would be cool if they brought back the Los Cabrones,Haitians(already confirmed),Sharks and Bikers from Gta Vice City

I Really really REALLY wanna see the story progress just like GTA SA where each portion of the story has it's own main location, and those locations really paint the mood or situation you're on in the story, i really hope we have something like that and not just action each and every mission like gta V
Im conflicted because I really wanna play it already but know I'll never get to expierence it for the first time more then once so I remain patient, hoping RDR2 wasn't their Magnum Opus and that VI will overshadow all their previous games yet again

Yeah. i hated how GTA V unfortunately just gives you the entire map to explore for yourself in the beginning of the game, unlike older installments. They really motivate you to actually progress into the story and do a few missions to unlock new places.
As a native south Floridian who grew up in both fort Myers and Miami this is definitely a good thing. the difference between the 2 cities would make for great gameplay progression

I'm more excited about Orlando than Vicy City. I've never been a huge fan of vc, it doesn't have a lot of landmarks and the layout feels like a maze.
It could be like cyberpunk nomad path where you start out outside the city and get a really hype intro and we enter night city, Great video!
My first gta was 5 so I never thought about the map accessibility but the more I hear about it the more I agree with the old way of doing it
I also thing we'll start with Lucia getting out on parole.
I'm thinking Jason will be maybe working on a fishing boat. Something physical (& to show off the water/gunplay with spear gun).
Both start away from the bright lights, but meet at Lucias' homecoming party and hit it off.
Lucia is the brains (hacking, tactics, stealth, hot-head)
Jason is the muscle (physicality, driving, shooting, explosives, swimming, follows Lucia anywhere)
I think of them as the couple in the diner in Pulp Fiction. The guy seems to be in charge, the the woman absolutely terrifies everyone in the building

I don’t think we will be "locked" form vice city. Why every people think the trailer hold the pattern of the story. That wasn’t a story trailer just and reveal trailer about the characters the world and the settings. In rdr2 we weren’t locked from the map but nobody decided to quit colton to go straight to saint denis because they decided to let the game lead them. The last time we were locked from somwhere was maybe on gta4 or gta3 and stuff. Maybe will be in a long mission in the beginning like rdr2 and gta5 like some prologue or something than access the map afterwards. I just feel like in rockstar game we are basically where the story want us to be until like half of the game. In gta 5 as soon as we hit los santos We could have gone to the desert by i never decided to go there until the trevor first arc.
They wouldn't have put an ankle monitor on Lucia if that was the case. In real life, an ankle monitor is meant to keep someone within a specific area. If Lucia leaves that area, she'd likely face consequences similar to getting a wanted level in GTA IV when you pass through a police barricade.
