Has anyone ever in the history of the world played Scarlatti like that? It is such a tragedy that she no longer gives solo recitals.
+Michael Minkovich Maybe Scarlatti did, but I wouldn't be sure.
+Michael Minkovich you are right she is fantastic - Vladimir Horowitz also played Scarlatti wonderfully
+jogobonito1234 Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli wasn't too bad in Scarlatti either.
Pogorelich and Pletnev made some great Scarlatti recordings
scottbos68 - How dare you STEAL MY comment !?!?? AGH! Just WHAT is this world coming to ?!??

Dearest Max
I have just finished listening to Scarbo. I am SPEECHLESS.
I can’t find words to describe it.
Thank you for all of your hard work bringing these to us.
In love with her playing. Wonderful. Pure talent Martha
Para mi una de las mas talentosas pianistas de siempre! Adoro a esta bella dama!
Fabulous! So exciting as always!!!
Hermosa y genial, con 42 años de edad. Hoy tiene 82 y sigue tocando maravillosamente y siendo hermosa-
Be careful: the section between 22:00 - 31:00 could possibly be seizure-inducing.
Lol
She can play anything as no one!
thank you!
Bravo Marthita. La única!
Max I am so delighted to find this video of Martha, which you uploaded (

Très vrai!
Is there a possibility to have some better quality than TH-cam's?
When I hear old recordings of Martha Argerich I often wonder how much old pianos had an influence on her playing and if they somehow helped her natural facilities. That wonderful articulation she had in her early years I don't think it is only related with youth. She rarely speaks about pianos on a technical level, I am quite sure that she would have some very interesting things to say about it. How she asks technicians to prepare her instrument and other things like that. As a pianist I can tell that pianos have become more difficult to be played compared to fifty years ago instruments.
No doubt she would have to. It would be very interesting to hear
interesting, in what way more difficult?
Love the tone that Yamaha.
Other videos on youtube to use the Gaspard de la Nuit recording do not have this visual discrepancy. Is there really no way to have changed it? Otherwise I cannot thank you enough for these fantastic videos 😁😁
Perdón perdón lo siento
Maybe with AI this can be removed that picture like if it was a watermark.
PD: the video needs more fixes too, like synchronization with audio/video, etc..
Great Footage !!!
Je confirme. Ravel a toujours cherché le danger, et Argerich est plus forte que son piano. On peut dire que ça équilibre. Formule pour formule, j’aime la vôtre.
Yes, I'm a fan of Martha's. I'm even going to see her in March.
But also try Marcelle Meyer (1897 - 1957) playing Scarlatti. She's not as quick, but has a wonderful lyrical style.
This video is only an example. She played all of Scarlatti's "sonatas".
That opening piece was with no ped!
Dears, could you please let us know what is starting at 22:53? Please
It is the second movement of "Gaspard de La Nuit", it is called "Le Gibet"
Thank you :)
do you know what she is playing at all? from the beginning? :D
Qual a setlist ?
音ズレしてます。
Musique sublime mais quel ennui cette façon de filmer... les plans sur les jardins, le château, la fontaine... insupportable.
End is cut off. No like for you...
Couldn't care less, my friend.
