Constantly changing PostFX Settings? Watch this..

  • The BEST possible Post FX settings for ALL MAPS. I recently started streaming and I needed some settings which would cover me across all maps, typically you'll want to adjust your Post FX every game to get the best result... but not anymore. In this video I go over the POST FX settings that I use in Escape from Tarkov. I've experimented around with various different settings, testing out what some of the best streamers use for post FX, but there always seemed to be a flaw with it in one sense. What these settings do is make the dark colours, much darker, essentially adding more definition to the game, in turn making everything way more visible. The aim of these settings is to also brighten up the overall game without effecting view distance from bloom, and also add more contrast between some of the washed out yellow colours (which there are plenty of).
The settings work best in areas which are hard to see in, AND most night raids with very little light available.

Awesome video! You've missed a rather large component though. What is the brightness/contrast/gamma settings of your monitor? The Nvidia ones go over the top of that, so it could be very very different if our monitor settings are different. Your monitor OSD should have 0-100 values (usually), could you take a pic of that?

*I tried to recreate this the best I can while using AMD software* instead of NVIDIA's, and here are the settings I use for anybody in a similar position.
These settings also won't necessarily require you to change your monitor's actual settings, as I avoided doing so here. You MIGHT still have to though.
    -----------------------
    *In Tarkov:*
    -----------------------
    Brightness | -5
    Saturation | 100
    Clarity | 55
    Colourfulness | 100
    Luma Sharpen | 100
    Adaptive Sharpen | 5
    Colour Grading | Montreal
    Intensity | 65
    Colourblind mode | Tritanopia
    Intensity | 60
REASONING: I find that having the colour grading & colourblind mode not set to the highest level helps with not having the screen turn all pink, and also helps with dark blue colours not turning completely purple. As for the brightness, I found that lowering it ever so slightly helps reduce colour banding when in low-light conditions, allowing you to distinguish better between object/object, or floor/wall.
    -----------------------
    *In AMD:*
    -----------------------
    Custom Colour | Enabled
    Colour Temperature Control | Disabled
    Brightness | 0
    Hue | 0
[!] Contrast | 135 [increasing this value is what is going to make whites & greys brighter, and keep blacks the same]
    Saturation | 65 [personal preference]
NOTE: There is also a sharpness option somewhere in the AMD settings. I enabled it, but set it to the lowest value of 10%. It might sound minimal but it does actually sharpen a lot better than Tarkov.

Thank you. FIrst I was a bit skeptic, cuz the colors looked funky in your video. Then when I tried the PostFX settings, I was disgusted, it looked too colorful and saturated, felt like the whole screen is red and that I could see way better without PostFX.
After playing around with Nvidia settings, I only kept digital vibrance up like you did, to 65% and left the rest untouched. Then I halfed the colorblind mode intensity and the color grading as well. Then I also played with the other settings like brightness, clarity and the sharpens, but it felt like only luma sharpen made the game look a bit better, I only left it at 40-50% though.
Then I also realized, that by using Windows's "Display color calibration" tool and adjusting the gamma slider to the max is better for some reason than the nvidias gamma slider.
I know it wont work for all people and that's why you have to play around for 30min-1hr to find the perfect settings for you, which are comfortable for your eyes and have good visibility, and colours as well.
Before this I just used to only turn up the gamma slider and that's it, but now the game looks much more colorful and not washed out, helps with my anxiety while playing this game.

@@wafflebombsoldier9293 haha I dont play anymore but it's an AOC 24G2U. Yeah each monitor will look different, thats why join a practice lobby and just play around for a while until you find what works for you.
Might even have to adjust it while you play the game in the future.
      Good luck!

Being somewhat colourblind, my eyes are horrible at separating shades and colours that are close together, so when it comes to washed out shooters like Tarkov, I've always got an inherent disadvantage when spotting stationary targets. This actually really helped me out! Thank you!

you do realize parts of the world, more specifically in the pacific, can get to this kind of colorfulness? I understand tarkov doesn't take place anywhere near this but I don't think military's stationed there go "Oh how cartoony"

Cool video bud. I know this is reaching a fair bit but it'd be interesting to see (or hear thoughts on..) what the same settings do on a few different monitors - (say the 3 or 4 players in a group all running the same settings) most of which have been chopped and changed in their monitor settings over the time we've used them too.. I'm assuming it's gonna be a bit different for me playing the tit on my (*really* not for gaming) LG OLED tv at 60fps than a proper gaming monitor - I'm partially sighted so I need a 5ft screen to see anything. Might try the colourblind mode, guess I had a false idea of what it was and it felt like a bit too much of a gamer move but it actually makes it look nicer..

    • @2Lew

great comment, if I even have the money to do tests like this in the future, or im just upgrading my gear, I definitely will! with that being said... The example at 1:09 is how mine looks, adjust gamma/contrast/brightness till you get a similar result, it SHOULD be possible on 99% of monitors in the last 10 years. (yes, I have a very old second monitor)
