- Several underrated titles have been released throughout the years, some deserving more appreciation than others after numerous updates and fixes. However, there's also the curious case of Experiment 101's Biomutant.
Hyped as offering an open world with action RPG combat, from third-person shooting to Wung-Fu melee, it also features a system that influenced the story, a loot system, vehicles and much more. The sheer scale was impressive, but upon release, Biomutant felt like it lagged in almost every single metric. Between the bland open world, boring story, uninteresting gameplay and ridiculous characters, it just didn't click.
Not that this stopped Biomutant from achieving success, however. With the Switch version and numerous updates over the years, has it improved? Are there reasons to revisit it? Check out our thoughts to learn more. - เกม

I honestly enjoyed TF out of Biomutant! Could they have improved on a lot of areas in the game?! Of course, but overall it was a fun and mindless game with a beautiful World. 😊
Right? I had a blast too! People really expect to much out of AA and indie titles.
@@michaelhalterman8144yeah, indie games are always being expected to have made a AAA level game, which is why indie games are a bit less popular than AAA.
A perfectly fine, AA experience! This game, after that first big patch, was a solid A-/B+ experience for me. Highly recommended!
Another game that have been gathering dust in the back catalogue until it was properly updated.
I played the hell out of this game when it was released. Seemed great to me then. Didn’t know it needed fixing 🤷🏻♂️

It definitely had some rough edges but I had fun with it. The biggest problem with the game was that it tried to do wayyy to many things and becuase of that, the good things ended up suffering to some extent. But overall I found the game fun

Have to say I never found the narrator annoying, but to each their own; good to have options for those who didn't warm to it. Starting to think some very vocal people are generally moving away from liking most voicework when it's not entirely coming from the main character in action games (SM Wonder's flowers, for example). Might just be my very subjecting perception, though.
No, people just don't like constant chatter. They did the same thing recently for Dragons Dogma 2, reduced how often the pawns would say random things because they otherwise would sometimes be none stop meaningless chatter.
The mutations were the biggest disappointment to me.

I pre-ordered this game, tried it at launch and gave up 2-3 hours in.
Playing it on my steam deck right now and im loving it. 1156x720p with FSR is a constant 60fps.
I had an absolute blast with biomutant, i found the narrator witty and embraced the chaos of it and still hope for a biomutant 2

Is the DLC on Game Card or do you have to download an Update/Patch to access the DLC?
I didn't really know it needed fixing in any of the ways this video posed. I found a lot to like in the game. My main issue with it was that the green messaging got a bit much for me after a while. Less preaching in the lore and I'd like to think I'd have finished it several times over. Maybe platted it if the trophies were friendly enough for that.
I didn't get into this until after the final patch and I liked it. It isn't a revolutionary game, but I also remember when the first Assassin's Creed launched. It basically felt the same to me. It's a good foundation for a franchise, but for a sequel they're going to need to keep what works and focus on the weaknesses.
The game was never really broken. They just made unique choices to cut costs.
I’ve beaten this game 4 times and it’s one of my favorites video games 10/10
Anybody running this on switch? For some reason when I start the game up, the opening credits play sound, but I have a black screen. But if I press start it takes me to the main menu to start the game fine
I really liked this game, the options were nice, and I liked how the skills and character creation was where you chose your resistances, strengths, weaknesses, and how it affected how your character looked was really fun, the combos were hard to remember but were interesting to master, this game was great to me.
My biggest issue was over phy powers because if you wanted them to have a chance of scaling you had to go all in on very point pretty much on phy powers

I would buy this on sale...its 40 on the switch and its not crazy to think they wont offer a %50 discount before the year ends especially if it is not selling well. It looks like it has a some cool ideas in it that is worth it for that price for sure.
A great concept and it works well, the patch really helps, its different and the setting is brilliantly unique, which should appeal to the large variety of "blade" combat games being released.
On the go with the switch is great too in mobile if you can afford both

I wouldn't know if needed fixing then 😅 I preorderd the collectors edition . Barely started playing it a few days ago for the first time. Graphically not entirely appealing, narrative is kinda odd, game play is ok. Still early for me in story. Wow 3 years went fast😂
Love this game! I pre-ordered it for PS4, upgraded PS5 and recently picked it up again for PC and play it on my Steam Deck. I wanna see more!

Sounds similar to the narrator of Magic Carpet from the old Bullfrog studios.
Although I didnt finish it (because Im notorious for not finishing long games) I enjoyed playing. I put in maybe 20hrs or so, it was a decent game.
Was planning on getting this 2nd hand since it's only £10 so we'll see
I doubt it but I hope we do get some sort of sequel of this game with improvements. Its a great concept for a game and original which the industry really needs.

Hated all the major boss fights but the final boss. I like this game over all. The world is beautiful and you can just relax playing this.

I played it quite a bit when it came out I only ran in to a few minor bugs but I enjoyed the game
I really hope they don't discontinue this franchise but I would have done this game differently than what they have here.
Biomutant will never be fixed unless they change the dialogue style entirely.
I was so freaking excited for this game. cute but ferocious little critters who are in a civil war during a weird post apocalypses setting with swords and guns? The combat looks smooth and responsive. Optional dialogue and factions? And it's an open world RPG? Lets go!... A few hours in I put the game down and never played it again. The game was so unpolished and just a mess. My last straw was a main story quest bugged out on me and I could not progress. I was just stuck in this loop. Hope the game is worth revisiting after these years.

Biomutant didn't need fixing. It was a simple story in and u played as a freaking adorable animal in a world where everyone talks gibberish. So what did you expect, another last of us? Map couldve been smaller though. It looks even better now on ps5 version. I recommend it to anyone looking for a chill action adventure.

This game was so fun. It was such a pleasant surprise when I played it for the first time.

This is a really good childrens game. I played it as an adult and in hindsight the most i would have paid for this is $10. It has boring repetitive gameplay and it is extremely easy. The art style and world are beautiful, but as i said the overall gameplay seems to be have made for a young child. Do not buy this unless you have a kid to share it with, it is a very underwhelming game

Such a shame. I bought it, but I've never been able to get past the first few hours before losing interest. I love the large monster designs so much, but they're so distinct that whoever designed them probably couldn't repeat the style at a new employer without getting a lawsuit (which is ridiculous considering the way you could go from job to job repeating the same tired default styles without problems). For me to ever see these designs again, Biomutant needed to become an established brand but of course that will never happen.
Might have to get back on if it’s fixed I was playing 2 years ago but it kept bugging the game was fun but the bugging was consistent and annoying so I stopped playing
The graphics is nice and beautiful the gameplay is fun but the gameplay gets boring when you play it for hours

I liked the actor who did it a lot, but I could only stomach the narration so much. I wished it was more wry or tongue in cheek, it felt kind of like a child’s eco story though, kinda put me off a bit. But now that you can turn him off maybe I’ll give it another try

I think I got this game for less than $10, probably Black Friday sale. I tried it, and it seems okay, but I haven't played through it yet. The beginning is a bit annoying when they keep stopping the game every 2 minutes for tutorials and dialog. The narration kind of kills any immersion. It's too bad because it looks really good and the combat is okay, but as soon as you start getting into it and enjoying the experience, they stop you and talk and over explain everything and it's like, JUST LET ME PLAY THE GAME!
The problem with this game is that it’s wayyyy too bloated, even when compared to recent assassins creed games. It gets boring way too fast.

I juat wish the guns were more accurate.... The spray on ALL weapons is nuts. Usijg a rifle is no different than a shotgun. You miss SOOOO much.

There wasn't anything wrong with this game. It isn't a great game, but it is a good game. I 100% this game and got all the achievements.

Was waiting for this game for years before it came out, pre ordered it and played since day 1, but man was it a letdown, for me the narrator was the worst thing in it, I seriously don't know what were they thinking when they decided on that way of story telling, he was annoying I stopped playing because of him, not to mention the game was boring as hell also

I pirated the new Switch version of this game because I just wanted to try out... I turned the game off after about 20 minutes and will never be playing it again lol. The Switch port runs far worse than PC footage in this video, the framerate drops constantly and the graphics look quite bad. Also, it's just not fun at all, very shallow and clunky game. If you're going to play this game (which I would not recommend,) play it on PC or something other than Switch because that port if awful.
That goofy narrator guy, too many cut scenes, and no multiplayer is what killed this game.
The open world is big like GTA 😂
