    I was able to replace mine without removing the strut, one side i used a clamp to tweak the spring just enough to get the bolts out. Worth a try before going through that extra effort

    Hey, thanks for the video. I was struggling today to remove the rear facing nut for the upper control arm on the passenger side today. I’m going to take that bar off tomorrow and try again.

    Wow this explains why my car sits way to high after replacing the hole front end suspension. Magnum feel worst and very unbalanced with new suspension😡. If not to much to ask (can I get a measurement from the bottom or fender to the center of axle lock nut) the curb high specs for this car is 12.91 for the front, measurement taken from the frame rail just behind the engine cradle rear mount to the floor. I can't do that working with jack and jack stands. Any advice will be highly appreciated "Anyone with a RWD stock magnum suspension" thanks.

      I will get on that and check the measurements!! If it was put on improperly it could definitely affect the ride height and handling a bit.

    Just use a 4" inch extension and a swivel adapter to get the air gun in there.

    Thank you for sharing. Could you just replace the ball joint or boot only?

    • @colin7761
      @colin7761  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You’re welcome!! You can replace the boot by itself. If the balljoint is bad then the whole arm needs to be replaced.

      No prob bro! In some areas rust isn’t as big of an issue. Where I live, it is by the ocean and the air is salty. On top of that in the winter the streets are covered in salt here. So in this area undercoating is needed or the car will have major holes in the structural metal and definitely body within 3-8 years. Also the bolts and nuts will rust so bad they can’t be removed. 😳 anyway take care bro!!! 💯💯🤝

    What was your symptom to replace them?

    • @colin7761
      @colin7761  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The main symptoms are clunking or the steering might feel a little loose. To check your suspension. Jack up the front end. Grab the wheel with one hand on each end of the tire. Wiggle the wheel from left to right steering motions. If you feel any play, check the tie rod ends. You might need someone to wiggle it for you so you can inspect it if you felt any movement. If it’s tight, then put one hand on the top and the bottom of the wheel. Try to wiggle it up and down. If you feel any play, check the upper ball joint, if there’s play in it you should be able to see it. Whether there is play there or not. Continue to look at the lower ball joints, get someone to move it if needed while you check for play. If any of the ball joints have play, it’s time to replace them. Sometimes the bushings in the control arms can also break. So if you see any bushing split apart or slipping out of the arm. Then they will need to be replaced as well. Good luck with checking your car out bro! 💯 🤝

    • @colin7761
      @colin7761  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try to grip the spinning part with pliers or vice grips. If all else fail take a cut off tool and cut the tip where the nut is on it. Replace any necessary parts. Good luck 💯

    Are we required to grease the upper ball joints before installing or after installing? I’m working on a Dodge charger 08 R/T
