Especially for passenger vehicles. They are willing to sacrifice our vehicles longevity and reliability in order to meet those standards if they have to. The amount of extra fuel used to run a slightly thicker oil is negligible, even for the life of the vehicle. They also prolonged the oil change intervals, in order to make the cost of owning one look lower. They really aren’t interested in making the vehicles last longer than its warranty period. The reality is that the oil changes should be done earlier than the manufacturer suggests. Especially if you plan on keeping the vehicle. I would also like to note that the heavy duty 5.7 engines call for 5w30. For Heavy duty and commercial vehicles there is more leeway. The oil passages and clearances are the same on those engines. The notable difference being that the heavy duty engines don’t have MDS. People may argue that the engine light will come on if you use 5w30, but that is a hoax. Have a good one bro! 💯

Unfortunately that’s not how they wear. Rings getting worn out from use doesn’t affect the gap. They may affect the amount of pressure that gets past the rings. This however should not be mistaken as the ring gap being increased. There is still a significant risk of the rings expanding, butting ends, and breaking pistons. This HEMI still has good rings, it doesn’t abnormally consume oil. 💯💯🤝

Hey bro, thanks I appreciate your comment! I installed a TransGo shift kit to prevent known issues from happening. We have the nag1, that is supposed to be able to handle 580 lb/ft of torque. So it should be good as long as you keep the fluid and filters good! 💯🤝

An Upgraded driveshaft and a rear subframe lockout kit will definitely beef it up. Good luck with your build! @ yea c0379, my guess is my local mechanic forgot to reconnect a connector or like in your case my wires corroded. I’ll have it looked at, the vehicles feels fine though but it also threw a code for miscommunication with ecu & tcs ( trans control system )

Hey bro. It would be a good idea to change the trans filters and fluid. Usually it’s recommended to change between 60k and 100k. Since it’s a 12 I would definitely recommend getting it changed especially if you put the pedal down often 😂 Will you be safe to keep driving it for now? Yes. But if you can afford to change it I would as the fluid degrades over time💯💯💯 take care bro!

@@colin7761 No, it doesn't activate the fuel pump when I turn the engine on. Battery it good. Tested the fuse and the constant hot at the relay, both are good. Have a friend coming over this weekend, so we can check if the relay is getting a signal while the car is trying to start. I had it in the shop a couple of weeks ago, it started up for them. Stayed running, cycled on off throughout the day. Not in a hurry to give it back to them to fix since they just charged me and called it good lol

Yeah it’s terrible when you pay for a diagnosis and they don’t even do anything.. Hope you got it figured out by now bro! I’d definitely check to make sure fuel pump relay is getting all of the necessary signals, if the fuse is good and relay is going on normally I’d then check the connectors at the fuel pump to make sure they have ground and power. Good luck bro hopefully it’s not too much of a pain!!

@@colin7761 It was the relay :) Used a 9V battery to bench test it, the relay wouldn't close. My local Autozone had one in stock. They've got great service there, said that if it ended up being something else to bring it back and they'd refund without a hassle. $20, a few hours of TH-cam, and lots of prayer and my car is back on the road :)

I was just showing for those who may question whether it’s on right or not that they can briefly start it to make sure the timing is good. I don’t believe there was a risk of anything bad happening. I do know the HB plays an important role. That being said idling it for a few seconds is okay, it won’t cause any damage or issues. 💯💯🤝

It did make a bang. Reverse would grind loudly. It would move a bit in drive but you could tell something was broke underneath 💯🤝

Mine didn't do it in drive until later but reverse was a huge bang and started grinding exactly like this

Oh Daym bro!! This was a cracked sunshell inside of the transmission. It had to be replaced !

Its recommended to use it as it keeps the oil from getting too hot. That being said if it breaks you can bypass it and if it’s leaking oil you can remove the filter. Remove the oil cooler, and then place the oil filter back on with no oil cooler installed. It’s not going to cause any serious issues running without it.

No worries bro! 500 total hp. Turbo on stock 5.7 could make up to 500rwhp. if you want to build the engine you can make a lot more. I bought the parts individually and fabbed the piping. The kit is a part of the exhaust system. I’m going to be building this 5.7 HEMI here soon with forged internals so it will better handle more power. 💯🤝 good luck with your car in the future 💯

What codes did you get originally? There are four deactivation solenoids. So all four were replaced? Do you know what spark plugs were put in it? The first thing I would do personally is pull the cylinder four coil pack and remove and check the spark plugs. If everything checks out. Put them back in and switch the coil pack with another cylinder and reinstall them. Lmk if you have any questions or find anything!! 💯💯🤝

I hear ya bro! I’m going to be posting some more videos here soon on what we should consider. It ultimately depends how much hp you need. 💯💯🤝 what year? We can get up to about 500hp with stock internals. Possibly slightly higher. With many upgraded internals you can get up to 1000+hp but would def need to beef up some of the other weak links(trans, driveshaft, rear subframe lockout)

The pcm will command it to be on sometimes so we unplug it to be sure it’s off. It’s allowed to suck air when turned on. Just not when it’s off! Hope this helped clear it up! Take care bro! 💯🤝
