Great to see you! Is there a public record of individual judge's records on 1948 cases? For instance, can I look up my judge and see her recent record involving well-prepared 1948 claims? -jl
How would the new judges rule in these areas? Judges in Rome have a fairly consistent track record. Are the new judges that are going to preside over new 1948 cases, will they interpret the law the same as Rome did?
I asked my lawyers about this and they didn't seem very concerned about the change. Fingers cross as I'm somewhere in the court system after quite awhile getting all the documents gathered, apostilled, etc. by the team. What if you are pursuing 2 lines with ancestors coming from 2 different communes? Do they just choose one court?
Can we use the same lawyer in these new areas? For example, will the same lawyer that practiced in Rome, would they be able to take a case in Sicily? Does that mean we will need find a different lawyer that handle 1948 case in the specific district ?
@@_noahbanks thank you so much for your kind response. Nyc does not yet do it, that is why I was asking. I really don't know really what and how they are working at this moment. Thank you
Rome being 1 Court being expanded to the Regions in Italy, are there more than 1 Regional Court in each Region? How Many Potential Courts can it be after July 2022?
What if My Great grandpa and Grandma are both Italian? They were both from the same prefecture in Sicily. Would this rule still apply? Scince the children of men are automatically Italian citizens that would make my grandmother eligible as an Italian citizen still born @ 1921. This rule would only be a threat to Italian women who married American men or men that were not Italian, correct? Sorry if I misunderstand but the wording is confusing
You keep on mentioning documents...what documents are required? I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 1947 mother Italian. I have my Italian birth certificate, my mother's birth certificate and my grandparents birth certificates....is that enough?
I would like to know why a child with a direct Italian blood line, that was given up for adoption in the US as an infant, is no longer considered for dual citizenship.

Yea, I'm wondering if it's more risky to file outside of Rome

Will it cost more for the venue change? Are the commune judges more favorable towards a 1948 case?
Or will they interpret the law very differently than how the judges in Rome did? They had a fairly consistent track record.
Does this apply to non- 1948 cases. Terrible access at Boston Consulate. Thank you

A question, when will Italian consulates in USA resume the process of citizenship. Currently it has been paused. Any information on this?
At least some of the consulates are still scheduling and taking appointments! I know Philly and (I think) Houston aren’t, but many of the others are!

How much does this cost to do

They are if their birth parent / parent of italian nationality is added to their birth certificate. Who told you otherwise?
The people who work with this group. I called 2 years ago and they told me no.
@@alexandramontero5758 you should definitely get a second opinion. I know adoptees who have even got recognition through a consulate
