    Thanks for asking about the student visa-as it has no age limit. PLEASE DO A FULL VIDEO. As folks say after it's easy to shift to a work visa????? ALSO permanent residency is great! Most countries have that as an option that is easier to get.

    As a dual US / Italian citizen, you don't need a student visa but can just go to school in Italy. But if the student gets a dorm room, can that student register as a resident and get on the healthcare system?

    Thank you for having these discussions Rafael and Marco. I and my family are dual citizens. Marco, does your firm offer any consulting services to help people figure out the regions and locations where it would be best for them to live and buy property in Italy? I have a teenage special needs child who needs to complete his education in some sort of English speaking environment that is supportive of special needs children. I am guessing such schooling would need to be at some sort of international private school that supports English speaking students. In addition, my wife and I are in our late 50s and would like to live near good quality health facilities and hospitals. So far, we seem to like the beautiful but affordable properties in Abruzzo, Molise, and Puglia. However, it seems like the best hospitals and international school options are in the more expensive northern parts of Italy.

      I'm in a similar situation. How to get my kid to finish school in English while learning to speak Italian? Better healthcare is found in the north so there is that expense but I'm also mid 50s so it matters now.

    Thank you for all the great information. I am in the process of getting residency to eventually get my citizenship back. My husband is also dual citizen. We currently have an American marriage certificate apostilled. We understand that we need our marriage certificate translated in Italian.
    Do we translate the marriage license first and then get it apostilled in the US or do we do that in Italy?

      @PaulFromCHGO 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I was already married when I applied for my Italian Citizenship by descent via the Detroit consulate. During the process, I sent our marriage certificate, apostilled and translated to the consulate, so it is now on file with my ancestral comune via the consulate. My wife is also listed in my AIRE record, so the government knows she is my wife. At this point she can already live with me if I move to Italy by getting a spousal visa and I can get an Italian copy of the marriage record from the comune. If she later gets a B1 certificate in Italian, she can take the next step and apply for citizenship by marriage.
      If you were already married when your spouse became recognized as an Italian, then your spouse should make sure you are listed in the AIRE records. That should mean they have your marriage record on file. You can probably do this before you relocate to Italy as it should not take very long, I would expect since your spouse is already an Italian citizen.
      If you got married after your spouse became an Italian citizen, then your spouse needs to let the consulate know so the process of getting you recognized can be done A.S.A.P.

    Regarding the Retirement Visa and living in a 7% flat tax area, I heard on an episode of The Laughing Retirement from the accountant being interviewed that you may not qualify for the 7% if the primary source of your passive income is non-taxable. So for example, if your primary income source is a government or local government pension since that would not be taxable in Italy, you could live almost tax-free, which wouldn't be allowed so you would not qualify for the 7%. Is this accurate and something potential retirees need to take note of?

    Question about Domestic Partnerships - is it possible to register the domestic partnership for the first time directly in Italy, or does it have to be already registered in another country?

    One non-Italian method would be to get a Maltese Passport/Citizenship. Expensive but quicker but gives you access to the eurozone benefits in 12-18 months. I don't think you mentioned the investment visa option either.

    Marco. I, my wife, and my two children are all dual citizens with Italy and the USA. As a lawyer, do you others in or your business handle most matters of expat concern, such as property rental and purchase, tax accounting, transfer of retirement funds, creation of wills and trusts, etc? I know I will have need of some sort of legal and financial services to help set up and manage taxes and finances between Italy and the United States.

    Marco mentioned 3,000 euros per person for a retirement visa. Is that 3,000 per month or 3,000 per year?

      It’s about 3,000 a month for a single person, more for a couple.

    Please do a video on the 1983 law including how the children apply for citizenship. Do you have to go through the consulate can you do it in Italy is it a regular citizenship by descend or a direct descent application. There are a lot of people looking at this Avenue now that the minor issue has come up and there's not enough people talking about it. It might be a very peculiar case but it's something that a lot more people have the ability to pursue but they don't know about it and it would also be good for immigration lawyers replacing clientele that are no longer eligible with this Avenue
