Ngl most of these these bosses took me 1 or 2 attempts. 1st was just to assess and see the moveset. The 2nd was making the right party to maximize stagger and damage
Any summons from Phoenix on is hard to beat. I have got all the shrines to fight the weakest and they r still far too strong. I haven't fought gilgamesh but sephiroth is the worst. I'm at the airing cloud part and always close to beating him til he uses octslash then smiles at the end. I even added revival earrings for arith just to find out he cancels them out when he traps u in that vortex.
From the guide I watched he only uses it when you take a certain amount of damage. So I guess use synergy attacks which pulls your teammates to your location avoiding odins hits?
I mean if you follow what the assess tells you to do, it's actually pretty easy. I completed it one power level down and no one in my party even came close to death the entire fight. Just reduce his defense and his atk, it's a done deal. Just soon as debuff falls off, just reapply. Fight wasn't hard at all after that
That’s not true, just learn how to block and use ATB commands on him. Maybe put haste for good measure. He’ll be pressured and then ya can fire away at him
It would be cool if his limit gauge works differently, and fills mega slowly-- and when it finally fills, he just transforms and you work him like a Summon-- and he's mega strong. Wont happen, but it would be dope
@@romo_lampkin I doubt squenix will do that. they will find a way to nerf him, since the party should be balanced or else no one will play the other characters anymore. lol but i get you. it wont hurt the game by putting one OP character in.
that rufus fight almost made me break my controller considering it was already right after 2 other boss fights back to back. imo it was the most frustrating up there with sephiroth

Yeah, #%$& Rufus. I mean, sure you can hit him when it says relaod, but still. He was just a pain in the ass, and the fight drug on longer than it needed to.
Agree. Sephiroth is easier because he telegraphs his attacks better albeit he barely gives you an opening to attack him so you’ll need counter him only after his flurry combos.
Bahamut Arisen is an odd choice for this video over Odin who is much harder. I beat Bahamut Arisen first try at full strength which I wasn't expecting given how tough Bahamut was in the first game. But they gave you a really easy way to pressure Bahamut Arisen by use of synergy skills. Odin on the other hand...that one took many attempts lol.
@@mel-el5862 Yes, but you must admit this is a tougher thing to do than what Bahamut Arisen requires. He's super easy by comparison. Odin was the most difficult boss for me, even after beating all the shrines and fighting the weakest version of him possible, I would get instakilled by his Zantetsuken attack and start over until I finally beat him.
I agree on this. Taking on Bahamut Arisen, I died maybe once during the encounter to acquire his Materia, but for Odin I died multiple times, even with gear that prevented insta-death.
Odin only uses Zansetsuken if you get hit a couple of times from his other attacks be more attentive next time and try to stagger as fast as possible with Tifa and he'll be much easier i gotta say unless you count a spesificic two man team simulation Odin+Alexander was the boss i actually struggled the most with in the normal/dynamic playthrough since each required totally different approaches

I just beat it yesterday at 112 hours. The over complicated ending had me drop from 9.5/10 to 8.5/10. Definitely deserves multiple awards but maybe not goty
It took me so many attempts to beat Odin being able to land two lucky level2 limit breaks while being staggered. Only to realize that now I have to fight Odin + Alexander. I didn’t even make an attempt lol
Gi Nattak boss has a massive weakness you just use powerful healing magic or items on him as his a undead enemy so dose massive damage instead you could kill him out right with a phoenix down in FF7
Honestly I died more to Yin and Yang than any other boss in the game but that was because I was still getting used to playing Cait and it’s difficult with no team support.
Odin was hard as hell, but BY FAR the most annoying battle was the double Test 0 fight if you decided to challenge then getting to Corel Prison for the first time. You were underleveled, and sleep only does so much against the second one. Constant stun locks, moves that are not announced or telegraphed and the unblockable biting was just outright absurd to deal with. Hard mode was even more painful.
10. Just use Maximum Fury to decimate his junk tentacles when he creates them. 7. Even more so if you want to get his crown. You need to use Steal ON THE CROWN when it falls off before the king puts it back on. 5. And somehow, Odin is even harder because of his Zantetsuken attack, which will instakill your entire party if he lands too many attacks. 4. This was the most frustrating fight to cap off an already frustrating part of the game. This is due to Cait Sith's throwing arc not stretching far enough. Plus, Cait Sith works best as a support unit, not a fighter. 3. Just like in Remake, Rufus will only be vulnerable to damage while he's reloading. So you REALLY gotta pay attention. 2. Not to mention, before you even fight Gilgamesh, you have to take on 3 BRUTAL duo bosses against the summons you've acquired. I recommend saving him for new game plus.
Rulers of the Outer Worlds was a special hell for me. The hardest of the VR challenges for me. Bonds of Friendship didn’t even give me that hard a time. Virtual Sephiroth after Gilgamesh was just punishment.
Odin was the hardest because of the zantazuken slash; you have to bombard him with abilities to stop it from happening. Bahamut was easy, Gi was easy. Sephiroth reborn was easy.
Some people still haven’t played, come on with putting the final boss in the thumbnail. I was surprised as hell they used that this early instead of the very very end like normal.
My top 10 required for Platinum Trophy: 1. "Bonds of Friendship" Legendary Odin 2. "Rulers of the Outer Worlds" Virtual Sephiroth 3. Rufus - Hard Mode 4. "Rulers of the Outer Worlds" Brutal Gilgamesh 5. 3D Brawler Sephiroth 6. Red Dragon - Hard Mode 7. Gilgamesh 8. Dyne - Hard Mode 9. "Hellions’ Intonement" - Tonberry King 10. Midgardsormr - Hard Mode
The solo Cait Sith boss fight is the hardest for me. I don't know who scaled the game but most enemies during Cait Sith's solo level hits too freaking hard.
Heads up, putting Bizarro Sephiroth in the thumbnail less than a month after the game released was a really shitty thing to do to OG fans. Just wanted to come back to this vid and let you know…..
Every single fight in this list has a fairly simple counter to them, or just using basic skills like blocking can make them quite straight forward. Dyne, vincent and the summon duos are difficult, but nothing in this game stands up to rufus in difficulty. I decided not to even try hard mode because of that fight. Bizzaro sephiroth isnt difficult at all, just long to become frustrating when you get your ass beat by actual sephiroth. The most difficult boss in this game is the menu where it says 'Continue from this last fight' 'Continue from before this battle' 'Continue from last checkpoint'
The Tomberry King is actually quite easy if you know how to counter his Death Knife attack. Just give Cloud the accessory that makes him immune to Death attacks and bring long range party members like Barret and Aerith. Cloud takes the brunt of the attacks and kills whatever Tomberrys that show up and with the accessory none of the king's attacks will one shot him. Then it's a matter of keeping Cloud's health up and the King will fall.
None of these bosses were hard at all except for the Odin summon lmao can't believe Dyne is considered hard that Sephiroth 3D Brawler minigame is no joke tho
Gi Nattak was so infuriating because I killed him, but right as the cutscene began to play out after his defeat, my timer hit zero and my happiness turned to complete sour candy when the screen said “game over”
I think the Tonberry king is only difficult if you don’t use Yuffie. You can just use her range attack and spam basic attack against him and his minions. Takes a while, but as long as you dodge his range hits, there’s almost zero danger. Just use a Phoenix Down if he manages to hit one of your non controlled characters.
I haven’t obtained Odin because of that Zantetsuken. Dyne was a pain in the ass and honestly speaking, a lot of the boss fights in Rebirth are goddamn difficult if you don’t have a good specific strategy for every one of them. You can’t rely that much on mashing that square button.
OK! Right off the bat MojoPlays goes for DYNE at Number 10... OH GOD YEAH! Took me a couple of tries as he is HARD AS NAILS!!! And... WOW! One of the BEST Changes that Square Enix made! The Battle with Dyne was always heartbreaking even in the OG Game... But this is clearly a fight against a man suffering PTSD and YOU FEEL IT!!!! I have no shame admitting that by the end, I was Bawling my eyes out!!! Terror of the Deep... Yeah, HARD! Its a very tactical fight... GI Nattack, Amazingly - I found him not so hard as I expected!!! In fact I found his Minions harder than he was... Tonberry King - This was the fight I was Genuinely Dreading!!! I avoided it for a long time... But as I wanted to finish each region before moving forwards I went for it... And, It was STUNNIGLY EASY! I was Genuinely surprised!!! Maybe I had levelled too far... But I did not struggle here at all! Specimen H1204 and Crimson Mare... NO! I still have nightmares about this pair!!! Bahumut Arisen - Going to be honest... Scares me! I have not even tried yet!!! Galian Beast - The name says it all... While I beat it first time... GOD It did not go down easy!!! Rufus - He is a cheap little shit! And yeah... HARD!!! Again, I beat him first time... But it was not easy!!! And I had been levelling as I wanted my Time Materia Boosted up... Gilgamesh - Not faced him yet... LOL! Took me long enough to unlock him! Cactaur Crush 4 is a Pain in the backside!!! Sepiroth Reborn - Not got there yet... But come on, Its THYE MAIN MAN! OF COURSE!!!! THAT SAID... NO MOJOPLAYS... NO! ODIN - ENOUGH SAID!!! I have tried now 6 TIMES to fight him in the Simulator to get his Materia... Even on the EASIEST SETTING... WIPED OUT EVERY TIME BY HIS ZANZETSUKEN!!!
Odin and Mythril Golem. For me the hardest two bosses (on hard) were Mythril Golem and Gi Nattak. I know Roche and Rufus gave people a ton of troubles. Gilgamesh in Hard VR is the most difficult enemy in the game
probably not gonna be believed, but rufus fight wasn't much of a challenge for me, I remembered how impossible it was in the first game, so when this one was about to come out, I revesited on youtube to remember what he was made of, and by that point I knew that the game wanted me to use the block mechanic more, so instead of attacking I waited for him to do it and while it was a challenge, he never killed me
I found Odin the hardest in the whole game. Jenova then Sephiroth reborn was an absolute gauntlet but survivable and winnable. Odin just whips out Zantetsuken and game over. He's not angry, he's just disappointed.
I platinumed the game, and the 2 hardest bosses are easily Rufus on hard mode, and Odin in the legendary challenges. You need to learn attack patterns for these guys, everything else can be cheesed with magic builds, stop and Brumal spam. Virtual Sephiroth is an honorable mention, can be defeated with magic build/brumal spam, but you need to be fast to get the setup started, else you die.
I felt so ashamed I reduced the difficuty from Dynamic to Easy to finish off Sephiron Reborn. That last phase took me DAYS to beat. Rufus also was took quite a while to beat. The Rufus fight angered me because I knew every single time I made a mistake I was going to pay for it.
@@ronintheyorky4426 i think that one was cake haha. Funny how different playstyles of people can affect difficulty. Are you more of a melee fighter or spells?
In terms of actual fighting, I'd say Rufus was truly the hardest. I hate him so much😭 he already beat me up in remake, he just HAD to do it in rebirth, the way my eyes widened in horror when I realized I had to fight him again😭😭
odin and gilgamesh by far. Most of these I was able to beat on my first or second try. Took me hours to get odin causw of his damn Zanetsukin. I never beat Gilgamesh, but I was only level 49 when I reached him. After 172 hours into the game, I decided it was time to move on and finish it. Havent tried hard mode yet. Will go back to it after some time doing other stuff, probly from the beginning
The Chadley hard lvl 70 battles. Everyone of them needs to adjust materias. I’m at chapter 13, lvl 50, killed Gilgamesh and summons first try, and then got owned on the first lvl 70 challenge. But I used it to lvl up to 70 in couple of hours. But even at lvl 70, I keep getting killed, sigh
So, something I noticed about the Sephiroth Reborn fight. The party comp that the game gives you according to everywhere online, including this video, you get Tifa, Red XIII, and Cait Sith for the Bahamut part, then Barret, Red XIII, and Yuffie for the elemental wing phase. But for my playthrough, Tifa and Barret were swapped? Why?
@@limppickle4306 Good question. I've heard a few having different party members. Imma try it out tonight when I reach ch. 14 on my 2nd hard mode playthrough and see if anything changes.
Can someone please tell me how to defeat Sephiroth? I’m currently stuck on him and have even lowered the difficulty to give myself a better chance at winning. I haven’t fought him again yet but I do want to give it another shot. I just need advice on how to beat him this time.
In the final stage of the fight get Aerith to use fire magic at times when Sephiroth is still and it'll end up pressuring him. For the final part of the fight its crucial to helping to staggering Sephiroth, and having cloud deliver a combo powerful enough to end Sephiroth
Press circle and square back to back very quickly, with the propper timing you can roll around really fast Keep aerirh alive and use her magic wards. Make sure you prioritize getting the best combos possible
Yeah if Sephiroth pulls out a Octoslash prime and he’s not staggered you are COOKED. However if you have a limit break you can tank the hit and the countdown reset
Sure about half my gameovers were from the final stage of the final boss... but man having beat Remake a few times even on hard mode... to get bullied by Rufus again was embarrassing, i basically used a summon to finish the fight
Honestly, I didn't even find sephiroth that difficult this time around for some reason. I don't know why, but I just didn't struggle with him. Rufus though, #&$% that piece of crap.
I really hated that fight against Scarlet. Maybe I went at it all wrong but that one gave me a lot of trouble. Ugh, that’s the one I don’t look forward to on hard mode.
Honestly, it’s the damn Mind Flayer fight and then Corel Intel 2: 5th fight. Both of those need to be rebalanced. All the others felt awesome, but those 2 were just frustrating.
Fort Condor is the hardest boss ever U can use the same strategy which won u the battle but when u use it again exactly the same strategy at the same exact time, the outcome is going to be different
All 10000 of the stupid mini games are the hardest boss. Especially if you're a completionist, which I'm most likely foregoing in the case of this game

That was tough, still haven’t beat Sephiroth 3D Brawler but damn….middle manager parties hard apparently
@@JackpotToys pause during 3D brawlers to read their movement
Odin was the hardest because of the zantazuken slash; you have to bombard him with abilities to stop it from happening. Bahamut was easy, Gi was easy. Sephiroth reborn was easy.
No ya don't. Dodge. Hit em a few times and then burst him with focus attacks.
Some people still haven’t played, come on with putting the final boss in the thumbnail. I was surprised as hell they used that this early instead of the very very end like normal.
My top 10 required for Platinum Trophy:
1. "Bonds of Friendship" Legendary Odin
2. "Rulers of the Outer Worlds" Virtual Sephiroth
3. Rufus - Hard Mode
4. "Rulers of the Outer Worlds" Brutal Gilgamesh
5. 3D Brawler Sephiroth
6. Red Dragon - Hard Mode
7. Gilgamesh
8. Dyne - Hard Mode
9. "Hellions’ Intonement" - Tonberry King
10. Midgardsormr - Hard Mode
11:34 Had no issues until the FINAL phase when FFVII decides to go into Fuck You Mode
The GI natkai boss was tough but those damn Gilgamish summon fights lol
The solo Cait Sith boss fight is the hardest for me. I don't know who scaled the game but most enemies during Cait Sith's solo level hits too freaking hard.
the combat simulator is the real boss fight
The most difficult boss in this game is the menu where it says
'Continue from this last fight'
'Continue from before this battle'
'Continue from last checkpoint'
this game just makes it soo hard to tell when an enemy is attacking for me
The Tomberry King is actually quite easy if you know how to counter his Death Knife attack.
Gi Nattak was so infuriating because I killed him, but right as the cutscene began to play out after his defeat, my timer hit zero and my happiness turned to complete sour candy when the screen said “game over”
Gi natak has no weaknesses? Tell me you've never played og ff7 without telling me you haven't played it.
Rufus Shinra was a pain in the ass. MAJOR pain in the ass. I even remembered how you beat him in the 1st game and STILL!!!!
The Gorgons Manes are a real pain in the ass too
I haven’t obtained Odin because of that Zantetsuken. Dyne was a pain in the ass and honestly speaking, a lot of the boss fights in Rebirth are goddamn difficult if you don’t have a good specific strategy for every one of them. You can’t rely that much on mashing that square button.
2:55 He was a problem
The issue for the Tonberry King it's that you have to steal the crown and it's a little confusing at the beginning.
The 10 Tonberrys all at the same time was pretty difficult. Probably harder than, not all, but a lot of bosses in the game.
Odin is the hardest summon imo and Jenova Lifeclinger was harder than any Sephiroth phase as well
Odin and Mythril Golem. For me the hardest two bosses (on hard) were Mythril Golem and Gi Nattak. I know Roche and Rufus gave people a ton of troubles. Gilgamesh in Hard VR is the most difficult enemy in the game
Odin and Rufus were the hardest in this game. I don’t think I’ve ever used so many curse words in my life in such a short period of time.
probably not gonna be believed, but rufus fight wasn't much of a challenge for me, I remembered how impossible it was in the first game, so when this one was about to come out, I revesited on youtube to remember what he was made of, and by that point I knew that the game wanted me to use the block mechanic more, so instead of attacking I waited for him to do it and while it was a challenge, he never killed me
I found Odin the hardest in the whole game. Jenova then Sephiroth reborn was an absolute gauntlet but survivable and winnable. Odin just whips out Zantetsuken and game over. He's not angry, he's just disappointed.
Odin and the combo Odin and Alexander fight are TOUGH … he’s like a ticking time bomb
I can’t even imagine… well done
I found duo summon boss fights leading to gilgamesh the hardest so far but havent done all post mains cenario colloseum and simulator fights yet
I had to reduced the difficulty for gilgamesh. I was actually ok for sephiroth on dynamic.
The red dragon in the temple of the ancients
I loved that battle
That was the only fight in the game it took me more than one try to beat
Nahhh that was cake, I think Roche was the most difficult
@@ronintheyorky4426 i think that one was cake haha. Funny how different playstyles of people can affect difficulty. Are you more of a melee fighter or spells?
Surprised Odin isn’t on here
In terms of actual fighting, I'd say Rufus was truly the hardest. I hate him so much😭 he already beat me up in remake, he just HAD to do it in rebirth, the way my eyes widened in horror when I realized I had to fight him again😭😭
Odin is definitely the hardest summon fight due to the rules of the encounter.
Iron kight is a pain but doable. And the fact that you can banish odin and outright stagger bahamut tand titan simultaneously makes em a joke
4:01 Damage sponge. Use resist w/Magnify and you're good
odin and gilgamesh by far.
King Zu at the gold was one for me until I found out about his wings lol
So, something I noticed about the Sephiroth Reborn fight. The party comp that the game gives you according to everywhere online, including this video, you get Tifa, Red XIII, and Cait Sith for the Bahamut part, then Barret, Red XIII, and Yuffie for the elemental wing phase. But for my playthrough, Tifa and Barret were swapped? Why?
I think it depends on the party you brought with you into the White Whispers fight.
@@MelioraSR maybe. I'm still wondering why I haven't come across anyone else who had this though.
Press circle and square back to back very quickly, with the propper timing you can roll around really fast
Keep aerirh alive and use her magic wards.
Make sure you prioritize getting the best combos possible
@@chance6991okay I’ll try. I even nerfed the difficulty to make it easier. Will that help?
Yeah if Sephiroth pulls out a Octoslash prime and he’s not staggered you are COOKED. However if you have a limit break you can tank the hit and the countdown reset
Good news. I beat him.
The golem fight with Barrett and red was kinda difficult
sephiroth reborn is one of the hardest bosses in FF7 rebirth omg him is so awesome
The only battle that I died more than once was Rufus and Bahamat that it every other boss I beaten on my first try
I really hated that fight against Scarlet. Maybe I went at it all wrong but that one gave me a lot of trouble. Ugh, that’s the one I don’t look forward to on hard mode.
Feels illegal to be this early...
Johnny is this game's true final boss
Honestly, it’s the damn Mind Flayer fight and then Corel Intel 2: 5th fight. Both of those need to be rebalanced. All the others felt awesome, but those 2 were just frustrating.
The death claws in an around the mythril mines were harder than a lot of the boss fights
Rulers of the Outer World, Hands down. It took me two f***ing weeks to complete it...
Jenova after the queens blood tournament kicked my ass
The Giglamesh fight was dissapointing when it comes to difficulty. I had hopes the boss would be harder.
Theres always the hard mode i suppose
@@davidordaz5251 But you can't rematch him in Hard Mode. Only in chadleys sim which is a big gauntlet of battles.
Yeah I think the duo summon boss fights before him are actually tougher than him
@@ardasevmis7583 Agree.
Dyne was a pain. Beat him first time and have no clue how...
Oh yeah, tonberry king is super challenging... Until you equip a safety bit, cancel all instant death attacks and the fight becomes a joke.
Fort Condor is the hardest boss ever
U can use the same strategy which won u the battle but when u use it again exactly the same strategy at the same exact time, the outcome is going to be different
Gi Nattack shouldn’t be on here. Just give them an elixir lol
All 10000 of the stupid mini games are the hardest boss. Especially if you're a completionist, which I'm most likely foregoing in the case of this game
The hardest fights for me were Odin, Buhamut, Rufus, and final stage of Sephiroth.
Hm, how very interesting.
I wonder what Bosses we could expect from the Final Game?
Rufus and Odin were a pain to fight.
5:31 Whooped his candy ass
