my favourite Disney movie is the Aristocats because it brings so many memories of so many lovely times I had with my family around run sofa as a child and its just really good
Your eye makeup looks lovely! I love all these movies (I still need to see the Good Dinosaur). You could do a video like "sorting your friends in Harry Potter houses" or "what character your friends are most like". Or another top something. :)
Mine mostly revolve around when I was growing up too! 1. 101 Dalmations. (I could be very soppy but I'll just say it has a very special place in my heart) 2. The Aristocats. (Not many people's favourite but I love the music and the style and I can recite that film word for word) 3. Tangled (Just beautiful, so fun to watch and a lovely message) 4. The HSM films (Maybe this counts as three? Again, I was like 12 when the first one came out and I love all the actors and how real it felt to me as a British kid, thinking this was what American schools were like!) 5. Lilo and Sitch (Loved the film, great real and wonderful characters and I loved the TV series that cam out too) 6. Peter Pan (I used to watch it over and over and I loved Wendy, I related a lot to her) 7. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (Pooh was really inspiring to me as he is always so kind to everyone and I just loved that about him) 8. Oliver and Company (Again, probably one that not many people talk about. I always found it so sad and the characters really interesting and some of the images just stick in my mind) 9. Mulan (Even as a kid I found the culture behind the story so interesting and Mulan was definitely a role model for me, so was so selfless and funny) 10. Princess Diaries (I just loved Anne Hathaway in this and Julie Andrews. So perfect and so wonderful chemistry that made the film so funny and relatable yet it was about something you just can't relate to!) I could give honourable mentions to at least another 5 films that I loved though!
Hey dude, nice picks. Some very unconventional choices which is cool to see! What I will say though, as one of the people who didn't enjoy The Good Dinosaur all that much, is that I don't really buy the whole "it's just a children's movie" logic. There's a distinction I've always found really interesting between a family film and a kid's film. Typically kid's films tend to tailor their themes only to very young children and feel a little patronising for the outside world. On the other hand, family films manage to appeal to kids but still have a wider reaching messages that can be enjoyed by everyone. Now obviously it's very subjective, and for a lot of adults The Good Dinosaur worked, but personally I felt it didn't reach anywhere near the heights that family films can do (The Incredibles, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Lion King etc). When done well, family films can be some of the most bold, definitive, ground breaking films ever made.Whilst The Good Dinosaur was certainly beautifully animated, I felt it was really let down by cliché, predictability, messy structure and a weak premiss. There was very little within the story that I didn't see coming from a mile away and tonally I felt it kept jarring with itself. I honestly think all films should be critiqued the same as there are amazing definitive films within all genres. And, for the most part, they're all tied to the same basic method of storytelling. I think people are particularly scrutinous of Pixar but that's mainly because often they set the bar. Anyway, that's why I wasn't a fan. Hope that makes sense?
I agree with you about a The Hunchback of Notre Dame, I'm glad quazi's happy ending wasn't looking "normal" but finding value and accepting himself. I think that's the better message.
Me and my siblings had a lot of VHS tapes when we were little. Mainly Bob the builder and Blues clues, but we also had a lot of Disney movies. The one that was played multiple times daily (to the point that my little brother Seth could quote the whole movie start to finish) was Toy Story. So now when I watch it I have this weird mix of deja vu and nostalgia. It's still one of my favorite Disney movies to this day. Maybe not in the top ten but still really high up there.
I grew up watching and singing along to The Little Mermaid, and drawing Disney characters. I remember drawing Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast when I was little and I still have it about somewhere❤️
My top 10 disney movies (not counting Pixar cuz I love all of Pixar): - Big Hero 6 - Wreck it Ralph - Tangled - Pirates of the caribbean series - Aladin - The Little Mermaid - High school music series - Jungle Book - Bolt - The Muppets
I always feel bad choosing my favs, because I love them all so much. But Tangled, Lilo and Stitch and WallE are them. Fav princesses: Belle, Rapunzel and Tiana.
Maybe you could do a video on your favourite Disney characters and villains! Or you could do an advice video for those wanting to go into animation? Or for those who want to pursue a career in art but don't know how/feel pressured to take a more 'academic' path! I feel that could be helpful or reassuring for some! Hope you're well
