Will also get $50 back for a promotion for spending $200 that will buy my traeger shelf. Had the same dilemma picking the pro 22 or pro 34 checked them both out in person was a no brainer on $20 more for the 34!

    I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.

    Howdy !! great video and details on the Trager. I love heavy and almost bitter to taste flavor for my ribs, pork butt, and brisket. Can you dial this Trager Pellet in to get "Super Smoke" flavor and lower smoke when I'm cooking for others?

      The "Smoke" setting on the PRO 34 is the same as "Super Smoke" setting on the newer version. Throw your fave cut of meat on a PRO 34 and set it to smoke. 3 hrs. is about the max time that meat will absorb smoke, so at 3 hrs. bump up your temp to whatever you need. FYI: Traeger smoke is a cleaner smoke and smoke taste than a traditional wood smoker, but the fact that time management or temp management is sooooo much easier on a Traeger makes long cooks, like brisket, a no brainer.
      I have 2 750gallon tank smokers I use for my BBQ Business, but for me and my family, at home, I use the PRO34. If you're not sure about buying one, I'd say it's a fantastic investment for your Smoking!!

    Why would you cook a steak on a smoker? I am going to get a Traeger to smoke things like Brisket and Ribs. I will continue to use my Weber gas grill for burgers and steak. I will not try to smoke things on my grill or grill things on my smoker.

    • @HuntADX
      @HuntADX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is why Traeger are nice. It’s not technically smoking. Yes you get the pellet smoke flavor but you can still cook at 350-375 etc to cook them just like a normal grill with a hint of flavor taste. If you get one try it you’ll be throwing that Weber in the dumpster

    • @number51oco
      @number51oco 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HuntADX Incorrect. The Weber cooks at a much higher temp than the Traeger is capable of reaching, not even close. Don't confuse a smoker with a grill. They are two very different things that should be used differently to get two very different products. A steak should be grilled at a temp. much higher than the Traeger is capable of reaching, and brisket should be smoked on a smoker at a much lower temp. with smoke the Weber is not able to produce or control.
      Grilling and smoking are two very different things and if you don't know that, you should stop giving out bad advice on a subject you are not even remotely qualified on.

    • @HuntADX
      @HuntADX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Traeger is a wood fired grill not a smoker. And yes your propane grill will reach higher temps. I have a smoker and it won’t come close to reaching a Traegers temperature. So no bad information here 👍🏻

    • @number51oco
      @number51oco 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HuntADX You are confused, this is from www.bbqguys.com
      "Traeger SMOKERS raise the bar for new pellet grill technology".
      If you have no idea what you are doing they can be used as a grill, poorly, but if you don't mind low temp grilling, have fun cranking out poorly grilled food.
      Traeger makes the easiest to use smokers. The downside of using a Traeger pellet smoker is cost, pellets are much more expensive than just a piece of wood.
      The difference, Traeger cooking temp is to low to grill, fuel (pellets) more expensive than wood. They do a fine job smoking meat if you don't mind the cost. If you want to grill, buy a grill, not a smoker.
