Ella had been in a long term relationship with Ray Brown, the bassist on the entire "Clap Hand Here Comes Charlie" album from which this is from (I highly recommend listening to the entire album. Her "My Reverie" kills), which had recently ended. She really felt that song, and that line shows. However, look up how Nat got the song "Nature Boy" from the first hippie, Eden Ahbez.
