the 3 presets were chunky metal, classic od, dirty boost I love all the mxr pedals, especially the vintage script pedals. cool demo, thanks TK for your time.
Three demo'ed presets were Chunky Metal, Classic Overdrive, and Dirty Boost. I have this pedal and freaking LOVE it. Sits behind my Custom Badass '78 and my Custom Badass Modified OD.
I think ttk was on neck pickup. Definitely was muddy and sounded like a comforter was in the speakers. Sonic maximizer aligns your highs, mids, & lows to speakers. This allows for optimum output. Even extra presence for metal.
the pedal is awesome. smoothest sounding distortion ive ever heard, ive tried a ton. this does not do it justice. used with my strat and a princeton 65 and im golden
I am thinking about this pedal for my HSS strat. Looks like single coils are good with it. Can you hear much excess noise from the pedal at all? Cheers
Chunky metal, classic overdrive, and dirty boost. I love the mxr classic overdrive pedal with modded external tone switch (there's one hidden inside the pedal).
Voila comment en quelques minutes vous avez tout fait pour démonter ce que la "bête" a dans ses tripes...............Super je viens de la commander Merci pour cet excellent test
This pedal is growing on me. I have a big muff II and a vintage DS1. Which I play through a 72 twin reverb with Utahs...some people knock the Utahs. I mainly play 4 different guitars. . I bought the bad ass 2 years ago..didn't really feel it. It sat on the shelf..Shame on me. I tried it again. I'm liking it more and more. Switching from Hummers to single coils it really is very versatile.
Seems to sound like it's under a wet blanket... I don't think it's the pedal... I think something is off with the setup/eq ... Great demo just off on the treble.
It is the pedal, I have it. I thought this was a good pedal (better than the hardwire valve distortion) but sux compared to my nano big muff. Not very IN YOUR FACE sounding pedal.
I still have the superbadass (it is -with the dd3- the only pedal I have bought 2 times) sounds awesome alone in my bedroom, super fat and saturated but just not enough highs. Kinda needs a presence knob to be perfect. Pro Co Rat sounds better live with the band. Different feel but excellent nevertheless.
Out of the chunky metal, classic od and dirty boost (see what I did there ;) ), definitely loving the classic od. Great "Crazy Train" tone. I also love that you can roll the gain off and it doesn't cause the pedal to "wimp out" like some other distortion pedals do when you lower the gain.
Was unimpressed at first. Hated the Chunky Metal to be for rhythm... More like Chunky Mud. But that last bit after you finished with the boost setting up to the end sold me on that pedal. I'm going to need to watch out for this pedal on the used market or save up to get it new then try it with my amp.
Hey TK, just a quick one...how is the noise level on this pedal? I mean what happens if you have it on and you don't play...is there a lot of noise or not no noise at all? I'm looking for a boost/distortion pedal which makes my solos cut through the rest of the bands' sound. Nice demo btw
I agree, spend the money and buy an ISP Decimator G-String. I think a new version is out now. You will never hear any buzz ever again as you control the noise level that comes through. If you go overboard though it will as all ALL noise gates will kill some of your sustain. Just a tradeoff. Hope this helps.
TK,you have so many guitars to select from to do the videos. It seems like you've been using the Carvin a lot lately. Is this just a coincidence, or is there something bringing you back to that guitar (i.e., sound, shape of the neck, weight, etc)?
Beethoven satriani look out the tone king is hear , cool sounding pedal I like M x r pedals I've got one on my home made pedalboard a carbon copy m x r delay great sounding this super badass distortion pedal sounds as if its worth checking out ,the best pedal so far in my humble opinion is got to be the Mesa boogie .
👎 if you already have a high gain amp... Peavey 6505! No need for this. Thick and sweet is a recipe that's already there. Just use an overdrive to get that added grit. I recommend a BBe sonic maximizer stomp box.
Man I just got the Peavey 6505 Combo amp and I'm blown away. I have NEVER seen a combo amp be so close to a full out amp head in my life. This thing is freaking Awesome. If you're in a store soon, give that bad boy a spin.
Testing a distortion pedal but you have too much delay and reverb on. It would be nice to hear the pedal dry.
Amazing how chunky it sounds on the first setting with the mid range completely scooped
the 3 presets were chunky metal, classic od, dirty boost
I love all the mxr pedals, especially the vintage script pedals.
cool demo, thanks TK for your time.
Just picked one of these up the other day and love it! Sounds alot better than what this video sounds like for some reason.
Three demo'ed presets were Chunky Metal, Classic Overdrive, and Dirty Boost. I have this pedal and freaking LOVE it. Sits behind my Custom Badass '78 and my Custom Badass Modified OD.
me too, I also have a fullbore metal but I have not figured that one out yet, but I have probably only spent a half hour with it ever.
I think ttk was on neck pickup. Definitely was muddy and sounded like a comforter was in the speakers. Sonic maximizer aligns your highs, mids, & lows to speakers. This allows for optimum output. Even extra presence for metal.
I have never tried mine as boost, great idea!

+Omar Muñoz Bullshit... This pedal can melt your damn face off if you set your amp up right and use the pedal for adjustments.

Its like I just walked into Guitar Center or something.
