I am so pleased that Phoibos (pronounced: fee-bus) is now partnered with Long Island Watch. I have been involved with Phoibos since the early days of their offerings in the USA. My first Phoibos was a PX002C Black-faced Quartz. The 316L case, screw-down crown, Sapphire crystal, precise 120 click bezel, and 316L back were all made by the same Chinese manufacturer that Steinhart was using for the Ocean 1. In fact, they were made on the same line with the same materials, and craftsman. I had them both for a time and they were difficult to tell the difference. At a glance, I could always tell the Phoibos because it always displayed the correct time. I sold the Steinhart and moved toward Phoibos and Victorinox I.N.O.X. .I am proud to say that a name that I came up with the name for what I feel is Phoibos's finest watch, "Phoibos Eagle Ray". This is a very unique Diver with three different colors to choose from. Eagle Ray has a Custom Modded look to it. It is absolutely NOT a homage in styling, and the quality is equal to that of 300M Divers costing 5 times as much. As a prize for naming Eagle Ray, I received a Blue-faced PY005B Ocean Master. None of us will ever venture to 1000M, we all know that. But you have a true 1000M Tool Diver on your wrist, you get a well-earned sense of indestructibility. I actually got the Reef Master a few months ago before you carried Phoibos. It’s amazing how well built these watches are for the money.
Everyone else reviewing this watch is pronouncing it Pheebois, not to say they are right, but you’re swimming upstream with your pronunciation. These are beautiful watches for the money! I may have to get one. I just saw a SKX homage that blew me away! You might want to check that out as you are the SKX King!!! Great review as always Mark!!! Great addition. I love Phoibos (I thought Feebus). I own the quartz in blue and the DLC Reef Master, which is totally awesome. I'll be checking in on others you stock for my next one.

Marc, you're killing me! I simply adore the PY007C! Sadly, compounded to the pathetically weak Canadian Dollar, it is now very expensive to ship to Canada from the US. All told, the PY007C will cost CAD569 (including shipping, taxes and brokerage). Of course, the 5% first-time LIW discount helps to drop the cost to CAD549, but still a hefty price.
As soon as the Canadian Dollar recovers, I am coming a-shopping for a Phoibos and Long Island Ray II! Thank you for continuing to expand your inventory of watches, Marc!

Just placed an order for the Black 40mm ceramic bezel, with the Miyota.
So much value in this watch, high beat automatic Japanese movement, AR sapphire, solid end links on a brushed bracelet, ceramic bezel with lume, on a reasonably sized dive watch holy smokes it checks all my boxes.

I just bought a py007c directly from Phoibos Europe and I have to say the quality is incredibly good for the price. I don’t know if I got lucky but the miyota 9015 hasn’t gained or lost any seconds over the 3 days I’ve owned it. I noticed they seem to have addressed QC issues pointed out in older reviews too. The bracelet is more flexible now, bezel action and lume is great.
I've always known them as pron Feebus from watching JOMW but all the same .Great value for sure ,can't fault them.The quartz watches are great too plus they do an awesome looking ladies diver with a unique bezel design .
Some reviews indicate issue with screw pins in wavemaster band when sizing. Any indication if they have sorted the band pins.
I have just received the blue quartz model from you, Marc (probably one of the very last ones). It looks absolutely stunning, the blue is very deep-almost cobalt blue and just pops in the light. Thankfully since you made this vid, Phoibos ditched the hideous cyclops thingy over the date. Amazing value for money. I was thinking more Phoibuses (?Phoibi) for me, the PY007 in green looks incredible and the bronze eagle ray (the meteorite version seems to be especially polarising, some love it and others HATE it! I personally think they look great, esp. the blue one - but are they worth an extra 100 notes?) A note to everyone out there, Phoibos is very approachable and willing to take on board customer comments. They seem to upgrade their watches quite frequently. They have to be to survive, particularly due to them being so new. Price alone won't always cut it. From what I have seen in the last while, the customer comments for Phoibos watches indicates a loyal and growing fan base. Long may it continue.

Great watches for the money, indeed!! I have bought several of the Swiss Rhonda quartz version in the past and given them to my relatives as gifts. Very consistent great quality and the relatives love them. As accurate as you would expect them to be. The 42 mm version was a little too large for my skinny wrist, but I am tempted to try out these new ones; they seem to be a little more compact.
The quartz is a real bargain.

I have 35 watches in my collection, which includes Seiko, g-shock, maratac, orient, and others. Nothing to write home about, but they are all watches that I love. But the one I find myself wearing the most is my Phoibos PY007, it is beautiful, and has presence. People notice it. I think it is my number one watch.

I have 2 phoibos watches the Py015b reef master in the dlc coating and the py006a no date both so so good watches keep great time and are built great especially the py015b the dlc coating is almost impossible to scratch

I have the Phoibos quartz diver. It is great watch on the wrist. Has a bit of weight to but very comfortable

Great overview - thank you Mark - I love Phoibos - I got mine last year - the entry quartz diver - my only gripe is that to me the Phoibos logo is too big and obscures the hour hand between 11 -1am/pm. atb snack.

snacklofter Totally agree with the octopus logo looking too big and blocking 1100 -1300. I’ve got the green 1000m diver also and the logo is smaller. Should have used that one on the quartz beater watch

I own two Phoibos already, they are a hell of a value. If you know anyone considering an Invicta Pro Diver tell then to spend a few extra bucks and get one of these.
Pro diver is fine for cheap and still looking nice. These are real bad butt watches.

Marc I think you made the right choice. I recently purchased the black dial quartz with cyclops due to lack of availability of the one I wanted and I don’t regret it for a moment. Any of these watches are a home-run purchase. I know at some point I’m going to buy another, however, I will not be parting with my quartz. At 119$ you get an incredibly nice looking quality watch and not a worry in the world having it on your wrist under excessive conditions. Only a very keen eye will know by the seconds hand that you have a quartz 😀

My only beef is people will look at your wrist and say “oh you have a sub” and then that awkward moment when you tell them “no it’s not…”. I had that experience before I got into watches when I purchased an Invicta diver. I know it sound stupid but you never deal with that if you have a seiko for example
That green one is stunning, I've been looking at this brand and the green one reminds me of the the PX005A which is supposed to be a Swiss quartz, if you get one of those can you do a video?

I have a Wavemaster myself, very pleased with it but make sure to check yours over before you take all the plastic off.
Mine is a keeper but it has a few niggles, the case finishing between the lugs is awful, can't wear it with a sailcloth or leather strap as you can see visible ridges in the finishing. Aside from that it's a great watch and I wear it daily.

Hey mark, is the lume dim on these watches or is it just what picks up on the camera? How would you compare them to say an orient ray 2?
Ray is better than all except the last one. Lume is good, not outstanding.

@@islandwatch I got my Wave Master on Wednesday, and wow, just wow. That is a much nicer watch than the price would imply. This is the fourth microbrand watch I have picked up in the last year, and features for money, this is a pretty tough deal to top.

I just got a reef master and I love it. I always thought the Miyota 9015 was an equal to the Seiko NH35, to me the NH35 seems to run a little bit smoother but I could be just used to it.
The 9015 would be considered superior to the NH35

Great value/ quality divers Mark. I’ve bought many of the watches you review over the last two years especially Seiko Turtles, Samurais and SKX on Strapcodes. Love micro brands as they offer great specs at great prices. Love Helm and Zelos divers also. Check them out! You will sell shed loads of Phobos watches. Recommended to all your clients and wouldn’t hesitate to buy any of their offerings.

Fullswing in hongkong manufactures cases for most microbrand companies
My only issue with the py007 is that the lume on the bezel isn't covered by any coating or anything. Idk if this is the way it is on all lumed bezels, but with my current py007c the lume on the bezels has gotten really dirty and even rubbed off a bit when I tried to clean the watch. I love everything about this watch except for the bezel. I'm glad they're now on your website!

@@islandwatch Anytime! I just wanted to tell me experience with the watch. I've owned it for 6 months now. Still think it's great for the money, I was just a bit bothered by that issue with the lume. I wish it still glowed as bright as when I bought it.

In a rational economy with rapidly-advancing technology, we should have price deflation. Phoibos is a welcome harbinger of this trend. There are so many brands out there coasting on reputation, snob appeal and brand ambassadors. The guys at Phoibos seem to be engineers who love watches and want the public to be able to afford a quality, robust watch.
