This video helped me see armored cloak's amazing purpose, as sleeping apparel! Seriously, if there's any risk of being ambushed in your sleep, it's better than nothing, and you can just change armor at the start of the day anyways. The light bulk means it also isn't a hassle to keep on your person. It's the perfect accessory for that dagger under your bedroll!
07:45 · Grey Maiden Plate The Grey Maidens are disbanded. The vile queen whom tortured the females, (physically & psychologically), was defeated by adventurers before the release of PathFinder 2e. Their former nation now offers bounties for them and rewards for authentic Grey Maiden armour. Many who once suffered beneath the heel of the Grey Maidens armour seek vengeance or are willing to pay others to do so.
I nominate Armored Skirts for consideration. This can change the class of armor (lightmedheavy) without changing the speed penalty allowing characters access to more customization of their armor for their specific build and proficiencies.
Technically, the armored skirt is an item and not armor for itself. I will certainly consider it if I ever do a mundane items to watch out for video. Thanks for the reminder!
Enjoyable video! One recommendation: for videos like this, include book and page references for options that aren't core. It'll help people know how to find it!

I like chainmail and later a chain skirt to make it heavy armor on my giant instinct barbarian. With the sentinel archetype for the heavy proficiency as well as armor specialization the chain spec vs crit damage is nice as I'm most often critted given giant instincts constantly low ac. So helps my temp and real hp go further.
Also, it pushes out your chest in a super weird, out of proportion angle!. Lol, Ah, we shouldn't give the guy too hard a time. He made a good career out of what he did and he's still a better artist than I am. No hard feelings Rob!
DND channels be like: so you wanna make the ultimate broken build to demolish whatever your DM throws at you??! Pathfinder channels be like: so these are by no means optimal things I'm mentioning I just find them really yummy. 😊
to be fair about the padded armor: everyone with a heavy armor uses that every heavy armor needs the gambeson and you can sleep in gambeson normally, if you remove your heavy armor + if your heavy armor gets destroyed, your padded armor stays up about nr.4: I love the leaf weave, specially for my vine leshy green order druid once it fits the theme being all plant and so but: a added thing is: the magical armor are quite interesting my leshy is part fey and a fey created magic armor who can make you invisible and even concealed to enemies sounds too good and that there is even the rare magic item "Faerie Queen's Bower" is just a add on it my thought by the grey maidens was the same: like wait, that armor is connected to some lore, how do you want to get to it easily, even if it just common
You can, but you take the downsides of each, so max dex is 3 from the cloak and it isn't comfort from Darkwood Leaf Weave armor. If you want to rock the same look both, grab Darkwood Leaf Weave armor and a 'Dueling Cape' which can act as a buckler. 2e.aonprd.com/Equipment.aspx?ID=680
I'm not a history buff, all I know is what I've heard from youtubers like Shadaversity, and a wikipedia article, where it doesn't mention metal, and it mentions leather only in passing. But hey, I could be wrong. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambeson
Sorry for that, seeing the picture it seems I confused it with something else (jack of plates?) Maybe in Italian, my language, has a similar name to something else, anyhow good to know
@@PsiPrimeProductions1 cheers to that, it was a lovely video, personally I love videos of analysis about various mechanics in games and this video taught me really interesting stuff I might use!

Padded armor can do that too. Fun idea.

I'll think about it. In the meantime, all of this stuff is available for search on Archives of Nethys

There really needs to be a wider variety of cloth armors. The bias against padded armor is a relic of D&D.
Don't know if someone posted, but Fighter also have armor specialisation
Wow! Honestly don't know how I missed that. Never played a fighter to 11 before. Good catch.

The Medium or Heavy equivalent of buckle armor should be referred to as "Liefeld Armor" given how covered in pouches it would be.
Only if it makes your feet tiny.
Also, it pushes out your chest in a super weird, out of proportion angle!.

I've noticed that too, especially with Nonat1s
Its the same. Options for two MMORPG emulators where the Focus is character "building" instead of character "creation".

Can you wear both the duskwood leaf armor and the armored cloak? Design wise it looks like you can and they are light enough.

@@PsiPrimeProductions1 thank you.

Thanks
Love it
Thanks!
Haven't watch the video yet but gambeson is the best and really underrated in all games
It's in there. I agree, gambison should have more love in games.
Gambeson armor is not even close to the padded armor: Padded armor do not have any metal nor leather inside

Gambesons do not have metal or leather in them either... It's just thick fabric.

@@Stone_Orchids yeah, that's not the best artwork for Gambeson. It's cool, we all make mistakes, I certainly have. Thanks for engaging with the video!
