O man, the chills. Evangelion was one of those series that touched the core. A great friend of mine introduced me to it (1999). Two years later he passes. I cried and cried listening to this song off the End of Eva OST.

Oh man, I've seen this concert live! Not this one specifically, but when they were visiting another city. I really really wanted to enjoy the experience, but unfortunately, it wasn't that great. And I don't mean performance wasn't great, I couldn't really tell at the time. And that's because I had a terrible seat near the speaker that was blasting full volume into my right ear to the point that it was very painful. They put the performers into a very small room with terrible acoustics, so they had to install mics, speakers and amplifiers everywhere. A terrible decision by whoever's responsible for it. Well, at least my friends who were sitting a meter away from me enjoyed the show, and there are some youtube videos for me to watch now. Also, it's funny I wasn't familiar with Evangelion at the time, and now, when I'm watching this, I already have been for a long time:)

新劇場版(shin evangelion)もいいけど、私の心は旧劇場版(End of Evangelion)のLCLに溶けてしまって、いまは魂のない空っぽの人形のように生きている。
自分は全てが終わってからアニメ版から新劇場版まで観たんですけど、EOEの何かすごいものに触れてしまったような感覚はやっぱり唯一無二だなと思いましたし、それを旧劇場版公開からシン公開まで抱え続けて人にとってシンが全ての終わりですと言われてもすんなりとは飲み込めない感覚があるだろうなと思います。
EOEで描き切ったものをエンターテイメントにするための20年だったのかなと言うのが自分の解釈です。
