Ah back when MAGFest was good. Now the guests are always just a bunch of local nerd bands from MD and other indie stuff. Back in the early days it was Uematsu, Koshiro, Yamashita, Miyake, etc. After Frank Klepacki in 2018 or so, the guests have just been so meh while prices just keep skyrockets. Been going there for 20 years now and just feel like after their whole management scandal years ago (which one m i right? lol) they just have decided to not really splurge on any guests or do anything anymore. Always confuses me how conventions with 3k to 5k people in like 2010 were just nonstop bangers, one after another, but now that MAGFest gets close to 30k attendees they have somehow regressed in every single way. Anyway, catch me there this year, still will be there for the parties, drugs, ambient experimental drone screeching alpaca noise metal, and butt sex of course.
