$320 for football boots from a brand that hasn't been particularly relevant for over 10 years? It doesn't sound like a recipe for success, but it looks like Diadora is attempting some form of a comeback! Will they be successful though? Let's talk about that.
In today's video we take a closer look at the new Diadora Brasil Elite Veloce GR ITA LPX FG, their $320 top-end, leather "speed" boot option. Coincidentally, these are the same price as the also somewhat niche, and similarly specced MIJ Mizuno Morelia Neo 4 Beta. This of course begs the question, could they possibly be any better? We discuss the good, the bad and the ugly, helping you decide whether or not Diadora should be on your radar in 2023.

I would 100% wear these but at that price point, in Canada, they would be over $400. Not gonna happen.

I have these boots and wear them every week for trainings - games. For my foot, these are honestly the best boots I’ve ever owned and I have owned over 50 premium boots. I did get them on sale, about $100 cheaper than the msrp . I think it’s just how you like the feel, definitely need to try them on before buying as it is not for everyone.
Diadora’s were so fire in the 90’s, I remember seeing ads with George Weah in Eurosport magazine lol

The neon yellow diadora logo is iconic. The brasils in awesome colors and the Baggio models were great.
Could you do a review on the diadora brasil classico range? They look like a budget friendly option that came out in April but I can’t find reviews for them anywhere!
The best thing I like is the rivets at the front of the soleplate, like the Adidas Copa Mundial and some Mizuno models. That being said, the Diadora would only be justifiable at about the same price point of its counterparts
I had the Paulo Di Canio k-leather black with yellow logo ones when I was at school in 90s, best ones I ever had, they were just perfect

The only Diadora boots I would go at this point are either the classic brasil line or the brasil elite tech which at least are boots that are comfortable and worth every penny you’re spending. While I do love the Mizuno morelia neo line and this does remind especially of the limited edition neo 2 beta that came 2-3 years ago however not sure if anyone would spent $320 on these when you have a very proven formula in the MIJ Morelia Neo series.

It’s not worth it, and I wore these during the summer and they were a blister nightmare in the heel area.
Why buy these if you can buy three pairs of NB 442 2.0 Pro FG for the same budget?

One pet peeve I have with shoes is when they have an identity crisis. These have that issue. Elements of a thinner speed boot with a classic forefoot.
I have two Italian made pairs of boots, both are Nike. One is a Vapor 9 (Hi-Vis) the other is the Flyknit Ultra (red).
These are kinda reminiscent of the 2014 F50, particularly the leather variant. Those had that "Speedfoil" mesh that was much thinner, stiffer and more structured than the leather forefoot. And it took up all of the instep. The last time I had a Diadora boot was when I was like 9 or 10, ended up out growing them. I think they were Faux leather, conical studs, blue with white logos and accents. These look interesting but the pricing is very off putting.

Why do they look so aged too? The look like they came out in 2007. Idk if it’s the colorway making it look like it came out of a Walmart but Mizunos boots look modern. These look like they came out years ago.
