Hello. Don't know if you will read this one year later but you might be able to relate to it as you are the creator of this deck.
Anyway. I have been playing this exact decklist for two weeks now and I really love it. I never thought "Bucknard's Everful Purse" would become my favourite thing to Sol Ring into.
However, the reactions I have been getting about the deck were very different.
In week one, the people I have been playing with really liked the list and how the extra cards and mana I provided them enabled them even more. I didn't win a single round but even when I knocked someone out with Illusions of Grandeur on my way out they high-fived me for it. Had a great time.
Today was different. Some other guy compared Puca's Mischief to flickering Agent of Treachery and how this deck is basically cEDH as it can just steal the best cards and therefore always be stronger than anybody else at the table. I tried to dispute this for like a minute and a half but realized that there was no way to find common ground. So I just stood by, while someone else fell into a choleric rage for about 30 minutes.
Mind you, I did warn them beforehand, that this deck is difficult to rank, as it runs some powerful commander staples often just to stay alive but follows a generally janky strategy. (Just my opinion though, no offense. I still love your deck.) So far it feels like you are everybody's favourite person until you actually start winning by gaining ground and locking people out of the game.
I don't really know what to make off this. I will probably not play cards that are stealing permanents against players who are known to have mental issues.
I just felt like sharing this with you as you might be able to relate. Also I wanted to thank you for creating a Zedruu list that works without counterspells (Those are my personal most hated mechanic). It is very fun, and will tweak it a bit to my personal preferences.
Zedruu was my second deck, so this brought back a ton of nostalgia. Thanks for the tour! You reminded me of why I love the deck and gave me a few new additions to consider 😊
Thanks for sharing Tomer I remember my first deck Doran and all the fun I used to have with it while we where so bad at the game lol I appreciate when you (and mtggoldfish) share these kind of videos. As a truck driver things can get boring and lonely so hearing your story keeps me going keep up the good work
Late to the party, however another neat part of Paradox Haze's design for the deck is that the controller of the aura doesn't matter.
The enchanted player is still the one reaping the benefits, so you can also donate it or swap it for other stuff while being the sole beneficiary of the double upkeep.

These deck tours are so sweet! It makes me want to do something similar for my own decks, or at the very list go over all the lists and chill while re-evaluating them one by one while reminiscing about each and every inclusion.
Really like the tours! This was a good length, too, didn't feel rushed but enough time to explain quirky cards. Definitely saw a few things I didn't know and want to pick up now.
really love these, chill mood, nice to listen to. lots of cards that give me ideas for other decks. id like to see more, and even have the rest of the gang do a deck tour, even Seth....if he can do a chill voice too haha.

Loved this video! I’ve been following the commander clash episodes where you played Zedruu decks and finally getting an updated version of the deck is amazing! Love this commander y super fun and makes games quite interesting!
My first edh deck was your Brago budget deck. Still my favourite all these years later! I've added to it over the years, but the core of the deck is still the same! Would love to see Brago on commander clash again one day!

Honestly, I love hearing about personal choices, regardless of whether or not I would play them. I feel that this was very well paced and concise enough to not get distracted elsewhere. Looking forward to the next tour and possibly updates+thoughts on future changes to the deck?
I think it would be awesome to see all of your personal favorite decks. A lot of the EDH gameplay TH-camrs play so many different decks or do deck techs that it's tough to know what decks are actually theirs. It's neat to get insight on what decks they play in their spare time.

Also me: I hate this build with a passion and I haven't even played against it.
Great idea for commander clash when you return: Everyone plays the first deck they bought/ built but build it as you would today.

When I started playing Commander 4 years ago, Zedruu was an absolute must-build for me as it fits my Magic personality perfectly. Our builds are similar, although I am more heavy on enchantments and blinking, as I quickly realized that giving creatures meant my opponents could attack each other to kill the creatures and limit my card draw, to the point that Eldrazi Displacer can easily take over a game. Have you considered Wild Research in your build?

Hey Tomer! I love your decks! Your changeling tribal deck inspired me to make an esper version that might be my favorite deck now.
I know you said you were considering cutting back on tutors, but what about Moon-Blessed Cleric to replace enlightened tutor? Obviously not as good, but it gives you just one more donate creature for the same effect.

Love, love the chill tone of the vid. Much preferred over the overenergetic content creator tone imo.
Regarding Nine Lives, if you wanna get it to go off but not necessarily kill all your opponents, run Words of War, since you draw so much, instead pay the 1 and deal one, then when you deal 9, donate it.

Also my first and my favorite commander, the thing is that it is very easy to be salty with zedruu. I try to play nice zedruu but is hard to be competitive. My zedruu is an artifact based life gain with tutors to get aetherflux Reservoir and win. The idea is to survive drawing cards and gaining life until I get the Reservoir and win. This without terribly incapacitate opponents.
This deck seems sweet. I used to play Trix back then! This deck also finds home to some cards that have the "why would I ever use this?" attached. Do you have a suggestion for an alternative to Gilded Drake for those who didn't buy it for 10$? :) Thanks! Also great presentation.

You can also cyc rift the nine lives tokens too if you had the mana right? Doesn’t need to just be patricians scorn?
Yeah you can donate Nine Lives and then Cyc rift it to kill one person. Fractured Identity + Scorn will kill all opponents though.
@@MTGGoldfishCommander well fractured identity + cyc rift, I meant. I made Blim as a similar jank combo with cards like Immortal Coil, giving it to someone and exiling their graveyard. I wanna submit it for commander clash at some point I feel like Crim would enjoy it!
I saw a point made in another video: if you give away creatures like steel golem for disruption or 1/1s for carddraw, opponents are just gonna make deals with other players to get rid of them via combat. How do you deal with that? or what is your experience with that?
For this deck, or your decks in general, would you rather add a dual land, or have that cash value put towards dozens of other cards?
If you mean ABUR duals then I'd buy cheaper cards instead. ABUR duals are obviously the best, but this deck is lower power and adding a dual won't be that significant.

Pls HELP. I have an Important Question: Can Zedruu donate an aura which is attached to my or an opponents creature without losing the attachment????
Zedru looks so fun, but sadly with the power spike you have to find a really casual table to play her... :'(
She's lower power but she works in mid-power tables just fine imo. Even with the original precon I could steal games off stronger decks with just Insurrection. Nowadays stealing an opponent's commander often hamstrings them long enough for me to catch up.

My experience playing zedruu:
"Thou shalt take control of this spirit token"
Opponent: "ok", proceeds to smack me in the face with it
Me: "Thou shall feel the consequences of hitting me with the spirit token"
i dont have a high win rate with the deck, but i love it nonetheless
Is that an ASMR Deck Tour?
I don't think the nine lives interaction works unfortunately. The original has to exile before your opponents make copies so youre losing the game before you can use your response.
It works if your sequencing is correct.
Nine Lives resolves, cast Fractured Identity, Fractured Identity resolves so Nine Lives gets exiled and the opponents gets their copy of Nine Lives, then the "you lose the game" triggered ability goes on the stack: in response, you cast Patrician's Scorn.
You can preset the combo if you have an Exquisite Archangel in play.
If you want to make the game interesting, you can use Angel's Grace instead of Patrcian's Scorn.
Note that akroan horse tokens are owned by the player who created them. Also if you want to make the deck extra mean, you can take control of an opponent's turn then on their turn, play chain of vapor on one of their permanents then have them sac all their lands to bounce their own permanents. Chain of plasma is less powerfu in this combo, but good against opponents with lots of cards in hand.
Pretty ugly deck, ngl. We play with Zedruu often. In the beginning it was a similar deck to this, but everybody hated it when they couldn't play lands, creatures... anything. When the Zedruu player had a lot of salt inducing cards, like Steel golem, Aggressive Mining or Possibility storm, everyone wanted to kill her first. The deck has proven to be much more effective when constructed as group hug, pretending it doesn't do much, helping others, so players keep her at bay, and then finishes with several wincons.
Good insights. I used to have my deck the mean way and I am rebuilding it so the permanent ownership is essentially neutral and the deck is more chaotic group hug. It seems more interesting this way too.
why let all players draw with dictate of kruphix, when u allready draw enough cards with your commander
