Upon use, destroys all pedestal items in the room. If you destroy an active item, void takes the ability of that item.
If you destroy a passive item, you gain 1-2 random stat boosts. If one of the stats chosen is Range the effect is inverted and the stat is decreased instead.

For anyone wondering, the Shart basicaly is an item already. The Mysterious Candy trinket will make Isaac randomly fart and leave poops on the floor so, Edmund and Tyrone beat you to it, Dan!
The reusable 'void' ability removes the special item in the room and gives a boost to a random stat, while activating the ability of the removed item. :)
Finally an Isaac Let's play from someone who can't recall every singly effect of every single item from memory.

I googled the void right before Dan tested it, according to the wiki, when the void destroys an active item, you gain that ability, like you picked it up, but if you destroy a passive item it gives you a random stat boost.
The void absorbs items and gives you a stat boost but if you absorb a held item it will be stored in the void and used when you use the void
they added a new option called "found hud" if you turn it on it shows you a more detailed version of your stats on the left, it makes it easier to see what the void is doing

The void item works items on pedistules
If the item takes the space bar spot,then the void will use the space bar item like the d6 if you abzorb it and if you abzorb a passive item like quadshot it gives you a random stat effect even if the item does nothing to your stats

For someone how has been playing Issac since the flash version Dan is pretty terrible (and clueless) at this game. Kinda makes me wonder if he's bad or lazy.

You probably won't read this but here is a pretty good tip about Isaac. There are addition HUD options that give you more information about the game. The newest and most useful of these is called "Found HUD" and shows you the exact numerical values of all your stats because it is well known that the stat screen in the pause menu isn't very accurate.

Go watch nothernlion, he plays around 3 episodes a day, since the release of the new update, at least 1 episode a day every day since the flash game several years ago. Dan would spend more time trying to finish 1 of the characters (the lost) then the time he spent building lego

So the Void consumes items. If you use it on a passive item (I.E. the common cold or something like that) you get a random stat boost to one or multiple stats (but it limits the boost, as far as I'm aware. No insta-god). However (and this is where it gets interesting) if you use it on another use item, then the void gains that item's power, and it stacks with multiple use items, meaning the one use item can do a bajillion different things at once and break the game.
Wow apparently the sharp straw deals damage equal to your tear damage plus 10% of enemy health, which explains why it one-shots nearly everything with his damage maxed out

You might want to turn on the extended UI and FoundHud, they help loads

void slurps up items and if they are passive they are changed into a random stat up and if its an active item every time you use void the active item gets activated, therefore more active items consumed gets activated on every successive void use
