I recently (2023) bought a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 v6, second hand, I’m in deep love with it in all aspects. My friends with more modern SUV and pickups are admiring its performance on and offroad. It’s a beast they say.
I daily drive a 2004 Laredo with the 4.0 motor. I occasionally go to my local salvage yards when I need a part or I'm bored. I see so many of these WJs in the salvage yards with the V8 motors. They have no body damage and the interiors are in mint condition except for the driver's seat. All these V8 WJs I see in the salvage yards aren't wrecked they're in their because the motor is blown. Any time I see a WJ with a 4.0 motor at the salvage yard it's because it's been in a accident.
2002-2004 overland.. I love them ..
My dad drives a 2004 Laredo Freedom Edition with this high output 4.7 V8. He loves it.

Amen. I have a 2004 I-6 130K. They're great. I have no plans on selling anytime soon. In fact, I've had offers. They'll increase in value.
yeah the 4.7 v8 that came in those wj jeeps are junk
The 4.7 was good as long as you stay on top of oil changes and never overheat it
My 04 4.7 is killing me getting 13 mpg on freeway and 9 in city but man It drives so nice and feels safe
Its funny because you throw a set of Bilsteins on these rigs and it corrects ALL the body roll and bounciness and still makes it ride plush
2024. It seems like 2002, just was here. Time waits on no one. I looked at this Jeep in 2002. I purchased a Lexus 350. Still i remember.
I love my 2004 Overland. I had a 3,1 Laredo b4 witch i also liked,,, but. Damn.. this is a good car,
