    I feel like I've missed an important bit in my video: their eq's are very powerful and both amps can do a lot more than what I demonstrated here. This is what worked for me at the time of shooting. Don't take my word as truth, test them yourself and trust your own ears. Being in the room with amps like this is a breathtaking experience and phone speakers don't do them justice. Thank you for watching ❤️

      D style amps are rediculously flexible when it comes to the EQ.
      If you're ever going to do a line up of different D style amps for comparison, I have a 100W 6L6 Ceriatone HRM you can borrow. Just hit me up and you can come pick it up for a week or so.

    Both great amps! I own a Two Rock amp myself. I think one of the big difference is the frequency of both amps when recording for a full band mix. When I record my Two Rock in a full band mix I often have to add some treble/mids and reduce de bass. Maybe the V140 will fit better without tweaking the eq. It has some sharpness to it.

    The victory sounded way more organic to my ears. Very musical amp, an instrument in itself. Two rock was great too, can't knock it but I prefer the victory. And I could buy two and play in stereo for the price of one two rock and still have change for pedals and goodies 🎉

  • @djt6546
    @djt6546 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The v140 certainly gives a great impression of high performance for your money compared to a premium brand like TwoRock. TR demand does appear to have gone through the roof during COVID and together with supply chain issues that is now reflected in expensive amps getting silly expensive. Over 5,000 in whatever currency for a CRS head alone. So an amp giving so much high head room and seriously impressive dynamics at a fraction of the price is very appealing. I wonder when price is taken out of the discussion how Sasha will “feel” about the CRS he would still like, compared with the v140. Maybe the audience simply can’t get that from TH-cam, because it’s just about whether or not an individual “feels” magic playing one verses the other. Like two top shelf guitars.
    Thanks for sharing the journey with us. 👍

    Phenomenal playing Sasha, it made my day after a hard day’s work🙌🏻!! It really is a small difference, (to my ears that is), but love the tones from the Victory just a bit more. Keep these awesome videos coming, enjoying them all🤙🏻

  • @ezm69
    @ezm69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I LOVE the immediate punch of the Two Rock and feel like it probably does that a little more effortlessly. The catch is the Victory seems a bit more dynamic in how it was responding to your playing. Like it could punch you in the face but still make you lean in for the subtle parts where the Two Rock kept punching. I also noticed with OD and fuzz in particular that it seemed like the Two Rock constrained the hairiness a lot more than the Victory. As much as I was convinced I needed the Traditional Clean and had to just swallow the price, my V140 should be here next week! :) Thank you sir! I certainly cannot complain that you've helped me find what I was after at less than half of the price! Oh, and yea, the Two Rock is still an incredible amp!

    My dream setup is to run a traditional clean and silver jubilee together. The super duchess holds its own very well I must say, and it's a more versatile amp overall. The best comparison I can think of at the time of this comment is that the V140 is like a BMW M3 while the TC is like a BMW M5.

    I get why you used the TAE. I have a traditional clean and had a TAE. The TAE coloured the sound and the solid-state D-amp of the TAE made the amp feel different. So I switched out for a Two-Notes Reload, and although it also colours the amp somewhat, the feel of the amp remained.
    The Two-Rock is the better amp if you want a great bass response at all times. Two-Rock had that nailed like no other amps. The bass never crashes.

    Hi Sasha, I’m a little late to this party. I was surprised by the V140. It can keep up with the TRTC. The V140 has sharper note definition whereas the TR had a more rounded tone. I think with a few EQ tweaks the V140 can be coaxed for smoother tone. At lower volumes the V140 could sound better. Of course value proposition-wise, V140 gets it. Boutique prices these days have been somewhat insulting to some. Tone is largely in one’s fingers so a good player can make an average amp sound great.
    One other boutique amp builder I’m looking at of late is Amplified Nation. They have different models that all sound great. They’re expensive too but probably not at TR prices.
    Well done, Sasha… cheers!

      🤦‍♂️ That's just too much for a brand new amp. It's a shame to be priced out but as seen here, there are great alternatives. Canada has some great boutique amp builders too doesn't it? Two rock are great, i would happily own one but couldn't justify the money for the ones I really want. And I thought the v140 in this vid sounded much more organic so would choose that personally. I think with pedals I could make the victory sound like two rock but I couldn't do it the other way round. Have you checked out the numerous harmonic trem pedals out there anyway mate? Some real beauty's to be had, sound so smooth, lovely!

I don’t sit in a room playing with headphones ever, and almost all demos are using digital capture and replay for me to hear. Coming from playing a Fender amp for over 20 years, to me the V40 really misses a chime that made the Two Rock shine. The V40 wouldn't be for me...
    I myself recently went from my 100 watts red knobs Twin back to a 40 watts amp which is the Revv Dynamis 7-40. That amp's clean channel with my Strat remains clean up until almost 3 o'clock and is super loud for a 40 watts amp. I play it through a 4x12 with H75 Creambacks and Vintage 30s in X pattern and it sounds amazing. Fat but clear, chimey and punchy. The Dynamis is a great pedal platform but its red channel is so good I never use my dirt pedals except for a Wampler Tumnus Deluxe.
    I think that from 40 watts up, headroom really depends on the amp and if you want a pedal platform or something more flexible. Do either amps here have a good dirt channel?
